Scaled and Icy- full of mediocre things galore. Going from fricking Trench (one of the best albums ever btw) to this is kind of mind blowing. Now, it's not all bad- songs like Shy Away, The Outside, and Choker stand out in the beginning- being some very fun and energetic songs, which not many things bad about them. Even Good Day is good too- even it is not the best imo. Then, Saturday. Tyler was correct while singing Backslide from Clancy ("I Wish I Never Did Saturday"). ... read more
Here we go again, an album I underrated for a while now. I've loved "Obstacle 1" for a while, so when I decided to listen to "Untitled", I was like meh, "this isn't very amazing like everyone says it is". It didn't even really like rock- it kind of felt "dream pop" (which is one of the listed genres, but that's all I thought it was). If you look at my profile, you can see all I like is rock stuff, so I put it aside. That was a year ago ... read more
Great- Super Amazing- Great- Great- Mediocre- Good- WHY???? So it's been 7 albums into Coldplay's career (as of late 2015), and we're not getting any better after Mylo, in fact they're getting worse now with this album, AHFOD full of complete filler. Probably there most filler yet (until MOTS, but let's not talk about that, yikes). It's full of a lot of non-Coldplay stuff like Hymn for the Weekend. Pretty much after this, Coldplay was doomed.

This one is filled with not one- but two slightly worse Coloraturas- but man, it's still not very good. A HUGE upgrade from MOTS, but still really overproduced having some extremely mediocre tracks and, oh, We Pray exists too (which was written by 15 people but it's still bad lol).
Faves: Alien Hits/Alien Radio, iAAM, Moon Music, All My Love
Least Faves: We Pray, Jupiter, Aeterna, Good Feelings
Good, but nothing special. It contains a lot of ambient- dreamy pop aesthetic (pretty much considered Chris Martin's divorce album).
Faves: Magic, A Sky Full Of Stars, O, Midnight
Least Faves: Another's Arms, True Love, Oceans
Best album by Coldplay since Viva- but still not the greatest thing in the world. It has some really amazing songs (Arabesque, Trouble in Town, Champion of the World, etc.) but it also has a lot of filler. So, it's a 73 for me.
Faves: Arabesque (one of the best Coldplay songs), Champion of the World, Trouble in Town, Everyday Life, Sunrise, Church
Least Faves: BrokEn, WOTW/POTP, Guns, Cry Cry Cry (Biutyful voice ruins it a bit), Old Friends
Mylo- an overall pretty mediocre pop-rock record- which some bangers- don't get me wrong. It's really just an album to turn on if you're in a bad mood and need something to cheer you up- even if it doesn't have the best writing or the best production- you would still find it enjoyable.
Faves: Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, Charlie Brown, Paradise, Hurts Like Heaven
Least Faves: U.F.O, A Hopeful Transmission, M.M.I.X. (filler central)
An excellent debue album- having some soft and indie tunes with some pop mixed in. Of course you have classics like Yellow, Sparks, and Trouble which are great obviously- but don't forget Shiver (my favorite, some great guitar work and great vocals), and Don't Panic (also a classic). The second half- slightly less strong- but still great.
Faves: Shiver, Yellow, Trouble, Don't Panic, Spies, High Speed, Sparks
Least Faves: Parachutes, We Never Change
The worst of Coldplay's first 4, but still a really good album. The first 5 are incredible, and the rest are pretty good too. I think there's some filler by the ending of the album with songs like 'Til Kingdom Come, Swallowed in the Sea, and A Message just being ok. But other than that Coldplay indulges into a big alternative album here- with even a hint of post-punk in some songs.

The only song good song from Music of the Spheres turns out to be a masterpiece.
Today, I was looking for some new music for me to indulge in- and I happened to come across this album which it seems like a lot of people like. So, I decided to take a listen. Not only was I blown away, it came swinging into my favorites instantly after finishing. This album- a beautiful written and beautifully produced indie rock album. All killer, no filler- I love every second of this album. No wonder it's one of the highest rated albums of AOTY, it totally deserves it.

One of the best modern LP songs! Nothing original, but great none the less.
Only slightly worse than Meteora, it's still an amazing album with a lot of iconic songs. Most of the album is just fully bangers (hardly filler). The first 5 run is crazy with "Papercut" and "One Step Closer" in the first 5 being in my top 5 favorite LP songs. I'd say Papercut would number 2, and One Step Closer would be number 4. I LOVE PAPERCUT being a spectacular 10/10 opener and One Step Closer just being an add on to the already spectacular track. To add on, ... read more
What a great indie/alternative gem in the less mainstream area of modern rock! There's some filler in here- but also a lot of bangers that star the show. Songs like "I Was Just A Kid", "Amsterdam", "I'm Not Built By Design", and "Particles" star with the heavily (and greatly written) tracks. Not to mention tracks like "Sorry" showing the more emotional side of the album. Overall, it's great other than some filler.

Music Of The Spheres is a thematic conceptual work of art that has outdone anything Coldplay has done on prior works. It floats, transcends, even defies musical gravity at times with a compassionate message that hugs each of our aural senses and hearts one at a time.
Bad Coldplay! Bad The Chainsmokers! This is no good!
Anyways it's overrated asf, and a very generic, stupid, and all around bland pop song with soulless lyrics and overproduction on levels that I can't explain (not Imagine Dragons levels, but we're getting there). I understand that some people really enjoy this song, and I respect your opinion, but in mine, it is NOT good.
So... it's not Trench- or anything close to Trench- but that doesn't ruin the fact it's still pretty damn good. It's more rock filled than TOP's other stuff, with songs like "Next Semester", "Vignette", and "Navigating" being showing an unusual punk side to the band. Very much an alternative album! Paladin Strait is specifically a Dema lore track. Overall, it's pretty good and would recommend a listen for fans of Trench.

Filled to the brim with punk rock anthems- American Idiot stands out from the croud. It's made as a literal "musical" and has a very sweeping and interesting narrative. Most is amazing- but in the middle some are just mediocre, taking down my rating a bit. Overall, it's fun and great!
Faves: American Idiot, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Jesus of Suburbia, Holiday, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Whatsername
Least Faves: Are We The Waiting, She's a Rebel, Letterbomb
