This album is pure vibes! It is great to relax and put yourself in a good mood, however, I think that sometimes it gets boring and monotonous. I don't know if it's just me but I felt that sometime Yaya just didn't match her vocals with the production well. The production is amazing, by the way.
Favorites: big daddy ya, alright, reprise
This is a really strong debut from PinkPantheress and we are blessed to have songs that are almost 3 minutes long. This album is exteremely consistent in its sound and that is mostly a good thing, but I just can't find that much stand-out songs. But overall, it's a great record!
Favorites: Another life, Nice To Meet You, Blue, Capable Of Love
I think this might be the weakest Faye record. And don't get me wrong, there are a couple of really good tracks on here, but most of them are rather bad and boring. Most of the tracks just didn't stand out at all.
Favorites: Thinking About You, Wanna Quit All The Time, Lifetime, Underdressed At The Symphony
I really like 'Positions' but it's sadly not Ariana's best project. I really like the R&B direction she went with but the album feels a bit lackluster. Even though it's consistent in its sound, it ends up being a bit one-note. 'positions' as a single brought a huge hype for this album and it ended up not as good as than expected. But overall, the album is enjoyable.
Favorites: motive, my hair, nasty, positions, pov
'thank u, next' is a really strong pop album. It is well produced and super catchy, with some top hits like 'thank u, next' or '7 rings' that are the essence of pop music. Ariana can't ever miss. She is very vulnerable on some of the songs on this album and it's really great to have as a listener, especially when it's something most can relate to. Although the album is good overall, the second part of the record is definitely stronger.
Favorites: needy, ghostin, in my head, 7 rings, thank u ... read more
'Sweetener' is not only a well-produced album but a TIMELESS RECORD! Every song on this album is phenomenal. Ariana put so much heart and effort into this album and it shows. This era is a moment to remember and cherish.
Favorites: God is a woman, everytime, no tears left to cry, better off, goodnight n go
Now, 'Dangerous Woman' is a cultural reset. This era of Ariana's music is UNMATCHED! Every song is special in it's own way and this album is pure pop essence. 'Into You' is a masterpiece and probably one of my favorite Ariana songs. This album also has some pop classics, such as 'Side To Side' or 'Dangerous Woman'. So the album is definitely enjoyable.
Favorites: Dangerous Woman, Into You, Greedy, Thinking Bout You
'My Everything' is a great follow-up to her debut album. It's STACKED with pop hits, that have proven the test of time and are still exteremely enjoyable. I hold a special place for most of the songs on this album since it's the first album I've got on CD (a gift on christmas). Ariana has been there since my childhood so her music in general is very meanigful for me.
Favorites: Problem, One Last Time, Break Free, Love Me Harder (+ Only 1, but it's on the deluxe version)
I've been a HUGE fan of Ariana ever since I remember (literally my whole life). And I must say that this is a very strong debut, though definitely not my favorite work from her. 'Yours Truly' has some really cool and positive songs that give really good vibes but it's not THAT strong of a record.
Favorite: Baby I, Right There, The Way, Popular Song
I've been obsessed with 'Lahai' ever since it came out. Sampha's craftsmanship is just on a whole another level and this record proves that. It's consistent and immaculate and every song makes me feel something (Spirit 2.0 - just wow). It is a pure work of art.
Favorites: Spirit 2.0, Dancing Circles, Jonathan L. Seagull, Only, What If You Hypnotise Me?, (+ Wave Therapy)
Cleo Sol for the soul! This album brings not only peace but some funk. Soulful atmosphere that stays consistent on this album put me in such a good mood. Some tracks were a bit bland, so I wish Cleo would've incoroporated something a bit more extraordinary. Despite that, I think this is an amazing album.
Favorites: Self, Go Baby, Miss Romantic, Golden Child (Jealous)
Can't believe Lorde released this album at 16. Here vulnerability and emotions captivated in a dream-pop sound is remarkable. This album holds a special place in my heart and it always gets me in my feels. Ribs is a spectacular song and I can't listen to it without crying (seriously). Such an amazing album that put a bright career ahead of Lorde, which is well deserved.
Favorites: Tennis Court, Ribs, Team, A World Alone, + Royals
'Ivory' really impressed me. Production on this album is incredbile and so are Omar's soothing vocals that can get feisty at times, which brings out the variety in his voice. This is a very well thought out project that is very consistent and has its more mellow and energetic moments.
Favorites: Invincible, Killing Me, Go Away, Tamagotchi, Evergreen
Ctrl is my favorite album to EVER exist. SZA's lyrics speak to me as no one else's. They are so raw and emotional. The production is amazing and the whole record is just remarkable. The aesthetic of the album is consistent and SZA shows off her artistry in the best way possible. Every song is emotionally rich and unique in its own way. Ctrl has proven to be timeless, unflawed and a sensitive, yet empowering work of art.
'RENAISSANCE' is a pure work of art. There is nothing much I can say besides that it's perfection. Starting with 'I'M THAT GIRL' which immaculately opens up the album. Then going to tracks that seemingly transition throughout the whole album. And finally ending on a spectacular closer which is 'SUMMER RENAISSANCE'. I will always admire Beyoncé's hard work and craftsmanship. This record earned the title of a classic that never gets boring and will live forever.
An exquisite debut album from The Last Dinner Party. Great musically and vocally. However, some lyrics feel forced to be so poetic which brings a slight effect of inauthenticity, but I don't really care because the album is enjoyable.
I really like that as every song on this record continues, it seems to get better with each second.
Favorites: Burn Alive, Nothing Matters
VULTURES 1 has some highlights but most of the time it's just okay or a bit worse than that. Lyrics are definitely nothing special and the production is not that outstanding on most of the tracks. Overall, this album is alright.
Favorites: PAID, BACK TO ME, BURN, CARNIVAL
Unnecessarily so many songs with only a few highlights. I think this album doesn't bring anything new to R&B music and it falls just below the average. The songs were monotonous and most of them sound almost the same.
Favorites: Good Good, Ruin
Simz definitely went in a new direction with this EP and I Ain't Feelin' It, as for now. 'Drop 7' is really intriguing but this new Simz sound, unfortunately, isn't better than her previous exquisite work. Half of the songs on this project are not even 2 minutes long, which makes me feel they're a bit unfinished. However, I think this is an average EP.
Favorites: Fever, I Ain't Feelin' It, Far Away
The whole album is very cohesive and the vibes are immaculate. But I thought there wasn't too much going on most of the time, what made the album average. Although Ravyn's vocals were absolutely beautiful, with songs that were slower they were rather lulling me to sleep. More upbeat songs were definitely more enjoyable.
Favorites: Venom, M.I.A., Skin Tight, Xtasy, Mercury
