JAY-Z Discography Reviews (3/14)
This is really an album. It really is a shocking start to such a highly regarded rapper's discography. The first two Volumes, while 1 was much better and definitely had some quality, feel so pop oriented and honestly plastic. As much as I have enjoyed JAY-Z so far, and I know he has better releases, this has definitely been a disappointing start. The features simply aren't strong enough to really help the album, the production is fine, but I prefer ... read more
I will be honest, I had never heard of clipping until I saw someone mention that they were dropping in a YouTube comment section. Shoutout to that guy because what an amazing listen!
I have listened to this now about 4 times, because I really wanted to get my thoughts straight and give an informational summary of Dead Channel Sky. This album takes on the cyber-esque motif, trying to show how the Internet can spread misinformation as well as humans not taking the time to think for themselves. ... read more

Sophomore album from JAY-Z, In my Lifetime, Vol 1, is definetly a big step down from his debut Reasonable Doubt. While this album is still enjoyable, this album seems to be trying to grab pop acclaim with more suped up production, and just weird attempts for hits like I Know What Girls Like, which is easily the worst song on the album. This album is really just lacking a lot of charm that Reasonable Doubt had. Features are alright, Too $hort had a great one, ... read more
To start, please take this with a grain of salt as I am not a fan of rage music, especially Carti in general, though I wanted to give him another chance on MUSIC.
I feel that a 30 track, hour and 15 min long album, of an artist I do not really like that much, would be challenging to get through. I was right. I gave two full listens to the album, and while I did not like a lot of it, there were some good tracks that I can respect. I liked most of the tracks with Travis Scott, RATHER LIE, ... read more
JAY-Z Discography Reviews (1/14)
Finally getting to this legend in my Discography Reviews series. So far I have reviewed and enjoyed the discographies of Kanye West, The Roots, A$AP Rocky, and Del the Funky Homosapien. Yes, a little all over the place, but I have listened to other shorter discogs like Redveil, Denzel Curry, MAVI, and quite a bit more, yet have not reviewed them fully on this site. More to come.
Yet as I was saying I am finally getting to the Roc-A-Fella legend, JAY-Z. ... read more
The album that got me into hip hop, I could not be more grateful for the Reddit user that said to start there. This album brings on many concepts like Swimming Pools an anti alcohol anthem, disguised as a banger, The Art of Peer Pressure, Sherane, so many fantastic tracks. There is not a single skip, and I am so happy I have this on vinyl.
Kanye West Discography Reviews (14/14)
Yuno Miles carried this shit so hard. At least the lyricism wasn't totally porn brained like last time.
Easily in my top two Freddie Gibbs projects, absolutely love every beat and all of Freddies verses, this is absolutely perfect. I listened to this masterpiece many times, but this recent one was very different as I was on a beach in Aruba. It was amazing. The perfect summer album, absolute vibe. Songs like High with Danny Brown, Thuggin, Lakers, Uno, Shitsville, Robes OMG everything is really damn good. Could not recommend more.
A really great Ransom project, Ransom does what Ransom always does, i do wish he would switch it up a bit but he does what he does well so I guess that's all we can ask for. Harry Fraud production is straight heavenly on this project, AND1, The Losses, Live From the Roxy, the beats are all amazing. It's probably my favorite album from Ransom, from what I have listened to.
This is easily my favorite Push project, the kanye production, the cold delivery and lyricism, the start to the Pusha T / Drake beef with Infrared, what more could I want. I do truly believe that this album is flawless, even up to the album cover. Pusha T is in his strongest form on this, delivering unreal lyricism over amazing flows. The features were great as well. I dont know what else to say. Listen to this album.
The Forever Story, JIDs third studio album and easily my favorite from 2022, only other contender being Melt My Eyez See Your Future of Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers. This album is such a deep background into JIDs family and career, showing us the actions he chose and how they put him where he is today. There are so many fantastic tracks on this project, and we see JID experiment further into his flows, curation, and even singing. Songs like Sistanem, Kody Blu 31, Stars with Yasiin Bey, there ... read more

Oh man, this was really hard to get through. It is rough going from such a good discography to getting to the bad at the end. Vultures feels like two porn addicts hit each other up and decided to make an album. The production is sloppy, the features, really besides Freddie Gibbs, are not good, do not get me started on North. Ty Dolla Sign carries this project unbelievably hard, but that can't even save the horrible performances from ye. Horrible ... read more

Donda has a lot of quality on it. It also has SOOOOOOO much bloat. This kind of continues Kanye's shitty lyricism from Jesus is King as well making the bloat even more painful to get through. It is damn hard to get through this track list because of it, as well as the sheer amount of runtime.
Moving past the bad however, there is a lot of quality as I said. Tracks like Off the Grid, Jail, 24, Moon, Jesus Lord we could go on. It really is a great ... read more

So now we get to the point where Kanye gets much much worse in lyricism. I want to quickly say that I do respect him for trying to make something that will get him closer with his religion and what not, there is nothing wrong with that and I respect it. BUT, when the lyricism we get is "Your closed on Sundays, your my Chic Fil A" we need to start getting a bit critical.
I want to begin by saying that I think it is a very middle of the line ... read more

JAY-Z Discography Reviews (12/14)
I have had a very long run with this album, and up until this last listen, my score would have been much lower. I finally now appreciate this album for what it really is. It is the peak of luxury rap, being up there with Griselda projects and more. Kanye and JAY-Z bring great production and curation, especially with the Frank Ocean features. I think the lyrical content, while sometimes lackluster, does have great ... read more

Very introspective and dives into Kanyes mental health. Great features and iconic songs.

I need say no more. Cudi and Kanye are unstoppable.
Kanye West Discography Reviews (7/14)
The Life of Pablo had always been an album that I have wanted to listen to. With so many amazing titles like No More Parties in LA and Father Stretch My Hands, Pt 1, I had very high expectations. And while a lot of amazing tracks did suprise me, I was ultimately left a little iffy on it. It is clearly a good album, but it feels quite bloated and just takes forever to get through for me. The production is very atmospheric and probably one of my favorite ... read more

My goodness there is A LOT of iconic production on this tracklist. From On sight, to Black Skinhead, New Slaves, Guilt Trip, Bound 2, there is so much good with this album. Production is really amazing. There is one bad that I got from Yeezus however. I feel at this point in Kanye's career it seems his talent as a producer greatly exceeds his rapping talent. And that is not a bad thing. But it just feels less impressive compared to some of his former ... read more
It is a fine listen, it just is really really average when it comes to Ransom. I have never listened to Dave East before, I think his contribution to the project was fine, though I do greatly prefer Ransom's colder delivery. The features were fine, Method Man and 22Gz were pretty dope, it really is just a project that I am not getting too much from.
