Day 22 / February Underground Discovery
Del the Funky Homosapien and his Hieroglyphics crew deliver fantastic hip hop over these beats. Fantastic production through and through. Great listen.
Really great jazz album, only 5 tracks but Jack McDuff brings more chill calming, yet still funk instrumentals for a great listen.
A$AP Rocky Discography Reviews (2/4)
A$AP comes into his debut album with the same hunger he had on his successful mixtape, making it a thrill to listen to. Tracks like 1Train, don't even get me started on that track it is so damn good, Danny Brown had my favorite verse but all snapped. Great tracks, some got kind of boring towards the end but still solid tracks. Great album from Rocky.
Favorite Tracks: 1Train, Long Live A$AP, PMW
Day 21 / February Underground Discovery
Super cool instrumental hip hop album. Like really good, and I don't even really like instrumental albums as I struggle to stay attached to long listens. While I did struggle at times, It's not challenge seeing just how good J Dilla was as a producer. This was really really amazing.
Day 20 / February Underground Discovery
El-P goes pretty hard with production and bars, making fantastic damage an absolute classic. While I still feel I need to sit with it and give it more listens, I can tell the genius and intention behind it is true and strong.
Favorite Tracks: Stepfather Factory, Lazerface's Warning
2nd album from Genesis, he really switches things up here, while I like his experimental hip hop style on his debut better, I can't help but be amazed by his creativity. It seems whatever genre Owusu trys, he does with respect and charm. Really well done, and a great listen.
A$AP Rocky Discography Reviews (1/4)
I can't lie, I really did not like this on my first listen a couple months back. Very happy that I am starting this series to dive deeper in Rocky's music. This was super good idk what I was smoking the first time I listened. The production is sooooo stupid good and ahead of its time on this mixtape, crazy how influential this was. The mixtape that pioneered a genre of rap, cloud rap, and really pushed steam under Rocky going further into his ... read more

Genesis Owusu's Debut Album, and all I can say is it is extremely impressive. The way Owusu combines all of these genres into an experimental ear-catching masterpiece makes for an amazing listen. I feel that this album is one of those that grows on you the more you listen to it, so I can't wait to listen even more. The Other Black Dog is an absolutely amazing track, shoutout to that. The whole album has the motif of a black dog, which Owusu ... read more
Im gonna be honest, I said I was going to give it a second listen but honestly I can't be bothered. The tracklist is so sleepy, and just really disappointing from such a wanted collab.
Del The Funky Homosapien Discography Reviews (10/10)
This is actually horrible. Kind of hilariously bad. Terrible way to end off a discography.
Del The Funky Homosapien Discography Reviews (9/10)
Finally, A return to form from Del. Amp Live brings great, clean, funky beats for Del to finally bring back something reminiscent of his signature flows. Some tracks off this project do feel kinda redundant, but for the most part it is a smooth listen.
Favorite Tracks: Help, Chili Sauce, Sit Ya Ass Down
Del The Funky Homosapien Discography Reviews (8/10)
So we are getting closer to current day Del. This project can be summed up into one word: meh. It is not bad, its not really good either. The production from parallel Thought is good, Del and Tame have fine verses even though songs like We Taking Over really age poorly and just sound like oldheads whining. I like old hip hop too but that song is just kinda sad. Same case with something like Life Sucks, which has a really bad hook. However all ... read more

Literally never heard of ICECOLDBISHOP until NFR Podcast's 2023 Top ten albums of the year. This is his first album, and I was obviously surprised by his voice, but really vibed with it basically the whole time. He switches up his style a lot, brings fantastic storytelling on BAD INFLUENCES FROM MY UNCLE and shows how kids like him get hooked on drugs with songs like D.A.R.E. This album really makes me can't wait for his next drop, an extremely ... read more
Del The Funky Homosapien Discography Reviews (7/10)
The sequel of the underground classic Deltron 3030, I find this album to, while not be as catching and encapsulating, still quite good and definetly an overhated album. The beats are more pale compared to the previous work but they still catch my ear. Del does well on this album, and the storytelling is still great.
Favorite Tracks: What is This Loneliness, Do You Remember, City Rising from the Ashes
Shoutout to my cousin for having me give this listen. This is fire. I do not really listen to R&B / pop all that often though I do want to get into it more, and while SZA has had more of a pop sensation then other R&B artists, it is still easy to tell where her roots are in music. She is an extremely talented vocalist making all of these tracks gripping, and not to mention the very good production on the entirety of the tracklist.
Favorite Tracks: Drew Barrymore, Prom, Love Galore, ... read more
Day 17 / February Underground Discovery
I can't lie, I'm not the biggest fan of Immortal Techniques brash, harsh, and aggressive delivery. You can tell he is very opinionated however I actually do like that, as I find when diving into an artist that seeing their point of view is very refreshing. This volume is definetly more consistent than the last, coming in with many great songs and getting rid of really goofy tracks, much better quality control. I think IT is quite talented, it ... read more
Day 16 / February Underground Discovery
So yes, Dance with the Devil album. But let me begin by saying that it is definitely more than that. This album is very political, hence the name Revolutionary. We see many anthems like Revolutionary, like a The Poverty of Philosophy, and Speak Your Mind. Immortal Technique is hispanic, and shows his side of life. How his close ones are being treated, how he views the world, all of it. The rapping performances are very solid, and ofc, this album contains ... read more
Day 15 / February Underground Discovery
Elzhi really remade Nas's Illmatic and did it with grace. He does a great job of making it over his own story and upbringing, making it for a unique listen. Some songs feel a bit too similar, i mean obviously they will but like One Love for example but still fantastic.
Day 14 / February Underground Discovery
Cannibal Ox's iconic LP The Cold Vein, I wish I liked more than I do, I can easily see the amount of skill and the preciseness with the album. The production is great and the bars are good, it just feels like the album drags on towards the end. I wouldn't even really say that it is bloated because all the songs are quality, it just feels like it take a while to get through.
Day 13 / February Underground Discovery
Manger on McNichols, by Detroit rapper Boldy James, shows the horrible conditions and upbringing he had, and the difficulty it is to break any cycle growing up in the hostile city of Detroit. Each track we go deeper into his upbringing, like on Requiem where he talks about how mothers did not want the children but did not get an abortion, quoting Biggie on a multitude of tracks. This tracklist is fantastic, and so is this album. Boldy's best at ... read more
