I’ve never really been wowed by Polo G, but I see his potential and have been hoping he capitalized on it. And while I don’t mind this, he can do better.
The beat is high energy but it sounds kinda cheap, and I like Polo G’s energy and flows, but it doesn’t hit me as much as a song in this lane needs to. It’s decent I guess, but I’ve heard better from him.
This song is great, the beat is pretty good, and both JID and Denzel give great performances, but the hook is not as good as it could be. Great track though with great energy and it just makes me want JID’s new album immediately.
Yet another banger from Tkay Maidza. The instrumental is nasty and both Tkay and Yung Baby Tate give great performances over it. The "Bitch I'm Kim" refrain gets a little old, but it doesn't really affect the songs enjoyability for me.
Eh this song feels like exactly what it likely is: a throwaway that they rushed and finished. It’s not terrible, and I think the song had potential, but the hook isn’t great and Oliver’s vocals could be better. I like the instrumental though, and I’m a big Oliver Tree fan, so I do like it quite a bit as a result.
This is not what I expected at all. The beat is surprisingly pretty smooth and both Freddie and Q flow well over it. It's not necessarily his best song or anything, but still really solid.
I was one of the few on this site to enjoy her debut album, and I also liked WAP, but all of her other post-Invasion singles were incredibly underwhelming. But this is a fucking BANGER.
From the pretty simple beat which is hard af to her insane presence on here, I like everything about this track. She also has some pretty funny one-liners. I'm not sure if I like it more than WAP, but the fact that she released two great singles for this upcoming album have me incredibly excited.
One of his better solo songs, but still not where it could be.
I really wished I liked Finneas's solo music more, but I usually don't think it comes near his work with Billie. His solo music tends to feel a little too generic, and his songwriting doesn't match the quality of his stuff with her. As a vocalist, I also don't think he brings enough of a presence to keep me interested. This song is not bad though and is pretty solid, but it doesn't capture me like other songs he has co-written or ... read more
Not Your Muse is nothing groundbreaking, and this particular style has been done before and done better, but I keep getting drawn back to this album.
I can hear many different influences in this album, but the first influence that jumped out at me was Adele. There’s also a lot of classic R&B and pop balladry on here as well, and at some points the songwriting reminded me of a Lianne La Havas or a Kali Uchis. You pair these influences with some quality songwriting and production and ... read more
I just discovered Glaive, and this is pretty impressive considering his age.
Cypress Grove is very flawed, but it shows a lot of potential and a way to bring hyper pop into the mainstream more. The songs are catchy and the production is the standout for me. The songwriting and vocal performances leave a little to be desired at points, but for the most part they’re pretty decent too. Right now, Glaive has room for improvement, but I definitely see the potential and can see Glaive being ... read more
All you need to know about this is that Marjorie Taylor Greene & Paul Joseph Watson posted this song on Twitter....
Also, for him to really say “ Black Lives Matter was the stupidest name, When the system's screwing everyone exactly the same” is so idiotic I don’t even know where to start. I get that hating on Tom Macdonald is overdone but this song truly deserves it. The right pushed this song to number 1 on iTunes. The beat also sounds like the most generic ... read more
This is a super fun and nostalgic dance pop single. The production is clean, her vocals sound good and the hook is very catchy. The guitar solo also didn’t need to go that hard goddamnnnnn. It sounds a little too much like a Carly Rae Jepsen song, but I love her so it doesn’t bother me.
Breastmilk is genuinely one of the funniest songs I’ve heard in a while. My Name Is Dominique is a cool instrumental, but it’s not as impactful as Breastmilk. I liked his album from last year, and I admired his storytelling ability, but something was missing from me and I saw room for improvement. And if his next project is as good as this, I’ll be very excited.

Edit: Yeah this has grown on me and I love it. I’ve also noticed how much of a Beatles vibe this has. 75 to an 80.
So I had never really listened to Weezer, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with this. But I definitely wasn’t expecting to like it like this.
Maybe it’s because I came in with no expectations that I enjoyed this album the way I did. The album felt like it flew by and as soon as it ended I wanted to immediately replay it, and that doesn’t happen ... read more
This is a really solid debut from Arlo Parks.
I had seen Arlo Parks’ name here and there, and I saw Billie Eilish and other artists praise her music, so I was looking forward to this debut album. I didn’t listen to her previous singles once I saw this was coming out because I wanted to hear the full thing for the first time, and I’m glad I did because this is a really enjoyable debut record.
One of the things that impressed me the most about this album was the songwriting. ... read more
I mean this is decent but there's no Thug and this is now two singles from SL2 that have been underwhelming. Sheck Wes and Yung Kayo weren't bad though and I like the instrumental, but Yak Gotti did not really impress me and just sounded like another boring Thugger clone. Not understanding why this was a single.
Edit: This has grown on me a lot. 65 to a 75.
Original review:
It's not terrible, but coming from Peggy it's just a little disappointing. The instrumental is underwhelming and Peggy doesn't really save it unfortunately. It had some elements that I thought could have worked, but overall it's just not executed as well as it could be and ultimately sounds a little rushed and unfinished.
Edit: this has grown on me, 75 to an 80
Edit 2: This grew even more. 80 to an 85.
Brent's vocals sound nice and the instrumental is pretty great, and of course I'm going to enjoy Tyler's verse, but I don't know. Something is just missing for me that is holding this back from being great. It just feels a little empty. Definitely a solid single though, and I do like it a lot.
This could have been a classic...but it's still an enjoyable release.
Madlib is one of my favorite producers, and I really liked the singles for this album, so I had high expectations. And while I do enjoy this quite a bit, it didn’t reach its full potential for me.
For what it is, it’s actually really well executed and sounds great. Madlib has some great instrumentals on here and some really cool ideas overall. But unlike my favorite instrumental records, it doesn’t ... read more
