This album does an incredible job at discussing racism in America and all of the injustices. The lyrics on this are amazing and I love most of the production and rapping on this project. I think it feels a little bit too long at times, especially with songs like Fear Not of Man, UMI Says, Rock N Roll, Brooklyn, and track 15 but overall i really enjoyed this and I can see the hype behind it.
EDIT: 86->81
am i overrating it? yeah probably. Wasn't a huge fan. I mean it was enjoyable but not crazy good and I don't see a lot of the hype
i hate this. they play this at my work all the time
kill me.
I feel like i need to follow up a 100/100 review with a 0
Let me start off by saying that I am a HUGE fan of JID and his last two projects, but to be honest, I wasn't listening to his new singles in hopes of a new album. and after four long years, here we have the forever story. I want to make this review as unbiased as possible, but it is hard for me not to. Anyways let's just begin with the biggest statement.
This album is perfect and easily my album of the year. At least for me right now it is, this opinion could very well change but man ... read more
probably my least favorite song or one of my least favorite songs of all time
this shit sucks
Look okay I'm gonna start with every possible pro i see in this album.
Some of the humor is alright? I found myself chuckling from time to time. Villain of Himself is funny and I think the second half of Outro is kinda funny.
The Instrumental on Why Socialism is kinda nice.
Anyways that's all the positives what the actual fuck is this album
i know it is satire i know its comedy ikikikik but listen to me it should be a lot funnier and music should never be painful to sit through. With the ... read more
It's rare for an album to have every single song be worst than the next. no seriously, my ranking of the tracks is just the track list. Maybe it could be because I slowly got bored of the terrible lyrical content but whatever.
Seriously though, I'm not one to usually critique lyrics, but I feel like that matter more in an album like this as opposed to like a trap album.
The sound of this album, as far as production quality, is good. That is the biggest thing saving this album. GAYLE also has ... read more
I want to like this more I really really want to like this more but I just don't. The vocals are off, not all the ideas work, but the instrumentation is great so it gets saved a bit.
EDIT: 37->27 man this album is ass like its a tiny bit good at times but overall it's pretty bad
Telephone Calls has a top 1 carti verse a top 3 tyler verse and the hypest dance verse of all time from Gleesh.
Anyways definitely an underrated project, I enjoy it. RIP YAMS.
While this album has a consistently alright first half, the second half does a great job and is just AHH soo good
Another album i've waited to rate because I feel like I needed multiple listens
DAMN THIS GOES SO HARD | D4MN TH1Z G03Z Z0 H4RD
RICKY, BIRDZ, AUTOMATIC, SPEEDBOAT, PAT all go astronomically hard. Rest is alright
It's solid but not something that I'm gonna constantly listen to It's above average but not great
EDIT: 66->58 don't kill me
I mean it isn't bad bad but after tlop4 i expected something better, a lot of it is just boring to me.
24+42=66
The second half is so much better than the first half but the first half does have great songs like 24 and Porno. I'd say its pretty alright
