Not bad, overall solid and better than good, but not like super outstanding
man im happy i finally listened to this. a true masterpiece
no way this was made in 1998, it sounds so modern and good but keeps like an old times spirit this is just so good
Oh god what was 2018 me thinking.
This is the only em project i've heard, not wanting it to stay that way because as of now, I hate eminem. I think he's corny, I think this album is corny, Not Alike is good, Lucky You is fine, but the rest is complete shit.
anyways
Kendrick Lamar: Sing About Me, I'm Dying Of Thirst at 10:29/12:03
EDIT: 21->27 After TDOSS i realize that this is not as bad as I thought, and it CAN get worse!
A solid vaporwave album, nothing revolutionary but a good trance listen nontheless. Got a bit boring at times though. But man the production.
Even with a mediocre middle, the beggining and end of this LP are absolutely phenomenal
EDIT: 77->69
comparing the first three tracks to the last 4 tracks is night and day.
TenTenths is really good, See You Sweat is eh for me, and 91 Cadillac DeVilla is fine I guess. But after that, the last four tracks just all hit. The production on the latter half of this is insane. I could be underrating it but the fact that 2/7 tracks miss for me i can't bring myself to give a higher score
It took me 3 listens to even understand this album to rate it, and I think it's amazing. A true work of art. While the whole thing isn't always perfect, songs like Footwork In A Forest Fire and Wild Wild West don't work for me, the album works as a true art experience. My score is likely to go up if i continue to relisten to this and further understand it
Edit: 84->88
Edit: 88->92 this album is a work of art
Edit: 92->95 ok yeah this album is fucking amazing
man this is insane.
Not as good as atrocity as a few songs miss but nothing misses and feels like filler. It's all there. The production is crazy but not mixed super well but that's the only real flaw. The one liners on this project are amazing and it leaves me with my jaw dropped at times.
Great project. My third experience with Danny and im hoping the rest are as good as the other two albums i've heard
EDIT1: 88->93 I expected this to grow off me, but it did the exact ... read more
I think it's hard to rank this album solely based on tracks as this album is amazing as a whole. However, on the topic of tracks, this project has some amazing tracks. Energy, Know Yourself, 6 God, Preach. Then the rest of the album hits. After WNI it's just banger banger banger banger banger and the album especially works as a whole when the tracks feel like experiences with skits built in and multiple coherent parts in tracks. Love it.
I like Lancey but this album only has a few good songs before it goes to boring filler
Just an enjoyable album. That's kind of it to be honest. Extremely enjoyable and consistently great. Not always gonna be on repeat but if we are talking consistency, this is the album.
It's not perfect but is a good debut from Reilly. I haven't heard his second LP at the time of writing it but I have high hopes he is able to fix the flaws from this album.
