Other than Job For A Cowboy, some Thy Art Is Murder, and a little bit of Whitechapel's early work, I've never really been too into deathcore. And while I personally felt their last EP was wildly overrated (other than Ramos' menacing vocals), this album has become a new favorite for me. The vocals are disgusting in the best way possible and really elevate the quality of the record, which otherwise would probably come across as mostly standard fare for their slightly more technical and disturbing ... read more
Sigh. These songs are all really boring and incredibly underwhelming, with even some of Serj's best vocal performances in years not being enough to save this dull and uncreative cluster fuck.
I'm super excited for this anniversary edition as Nimrod has always been one of my favorites in the entire Green Day discography. Plus, this is by far the coolest of all their anniversary releases so far. That being said, this single - while certainly not bad, and honestly pretty fun - definitely feels very rudimentary and underdeveloped in comparison to what actually made the cut for the album.
I was never super into Off! or even the Circle Jerks, but this album is legitimately one of the best punk albums I've heard in recent memory.
Favorites: War Above Los Angeles, Behind the Shifts, Suck the Bones Dry, Smoking Gun, Peace or Conquest, Free LSD, Murder Corporation, Time Will Come, Worst is Yet To Come
Least Favorites (but still good): Circuitry's God, Muddy the Waters
Not their worst, not their best. Sonically it sounds like Vol. 3 mixed with some of the composition that made WANYK such a good album. It also has some of their most boring songs though.
Favorites: Adderall, Acidic, Dying Song, Medicine For the Dead, Yen, De Sade
Least Favorites: Heirloom, Warranty, The Chapeltown Rag
Ever since their 2018 album "Out of Time", Mamaleek has been a band I've wanted to GET. Unfortunately, I wasn't ready and this album isn't much different. To be clear, I don't dislike this record at all; it just doesn't do it for me.
Just like that previous LP (I haven't heard the one in between these two), this record has all the makings of a truly great wildly experimental opus. It's unruly, yet atmospheric in one breath and in the next it sounds like straight-laced lounge jazz or ... read more
One of Rancid's best. You can really hear the rockabilly influences that Matt Freeman was bringing to the table - moreso than perhaps any other Rancid album.
Favorites: Radio, Salvation, Harry Bridges, Black & Blue, St. Mary, Nihilism, Motorcycle Ride, Side Kick, Tenderloin
Least Favorites: As One, I Am The One
I chose to listen without the bonus tracks from the 'I Can See You' EP.
This is a good record. Black Flag still had it up to the very end.
Favorites: Paralyzed, In My Head, Retired At 21, Society's Tease, It's All Up To You
Least Favorite (still good): Black Love
It's not their best, but it's better than I remember. Second half is way better than the first half.
Favorites: Now She's Black, I'm the One, This is Good
Least Favorites: Annihilate This Week, Best One Yet
The album where they stopped actually singing about meaningful things and instead opted to sing about singing about meaningful things. Still, it's a decently enjoyable listen that does include a handful of pretty great songs.
Favorites: Up To No Good, Last One To Die, East Bay Night, This Place
Least Favorites: I Ain't Worried, L.A. River, Damnation, Locomotive
