An exceptionally high note for Arif to go out on, this album just may be the best Wormrot album to date. Pulling stylistic elements from surf rock, horror movie soundtracks, and adult contemporary guitar solos, this album sounds like it could fall apart at any second. Miraculously, it doesn't. The riffs on this album are more creative than ever before, as are the many unique vocal styles that see Arif at his most acrobatic-sounding ever. This is Wormrot at their most ... read more

Despite higher highs than either of their last two releases, the rest of this release makes for an even more mixed bag than the Spring album.
Highlights: Lawn Chair, Thank You and Good Night
By combining generic soundcloud trap with generic Monster™ chugging death core, Rings of Saturn have made every fuckboi's wet dreams come true.
There are some half-decent ideas in here, but compositionally this entire album is a hot mess.
Highlights: Portions of both "Mind Palace" and "Shrine", that one cool guitar section in "Ascending"
The production is significantly better than the mixtape, as is the chorus. The verses, however, seem to trade any sort of originality for something more streamlined and predictable. It's not a bad track, but it's also not one I see myself going back to outside of my playlists.
Finally got around to this album, and WOW what a masterpiece.

Although their voice sounds as good as ever, this song doesn't really offer anything all that exciting other than a surprisingly cool bridge.
Wow, this is a HARSH fucking statement. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
I enjoy this album more and more every single time I listen to it
Wow this is legitimately INSANE. Only reason it doesn't get a 100 is because it just came out. One of the best grindcore/powerviolence records I have ever heard, in recent memory.

The fullest, most impactful realization of their sound yet. Truly great.
4 years later edit: I was right about some songs, wrong about others. Overall I still feel the same. Updated with new favorites/least favorites
There's some really good material on here - ethereal opener "Almost Always", the hectic but beautiful "Drip", atmospheric chaos binge "Prescience" -but unfortunately, a lot of this album ends up feeling pretty stale and forgettable.
I'm honestly not sure which bothers me more on this: the incredibly messy ... read more
