alexander 23 is back with another ep. this 9 track ep comes with just 3 new songs; the other 6 having been previously released. jeremy zucker and alexander 23's work on 'nothings the same' is excellent and the two of them make great collaborators. with that being the only feature on this, there's really nothing more to talk about feature wise.
'IDK you yet' and 'Cry Over Boys' are very similar styles but they both work really well next to each other. i didn’t like that he started out ... read more
if this is the new direction conan gray is taking then i'm all for it.
makes up for everything wrong with 'kid krow'
IT’S MEGANS BIRTHDAY and mine but that’s not important even though there’s no one i’d rather share a birthday with.
2nd unpopular opinion in 2 days cause i’m a savage like megan.
this obviously came out a long time ago but i’m new to the site and i wanted to review this today for obvious reasons.
incase you couldn’t already tell, i love megan and this album. she starts right off the bat taking shots at everyone from tory to the police with ... read more
first unpopular opinion on aoty - i love this album.
the first time i listened to this, i thought it was trash. i heard the first track and hated it and then i heard the rest and also hated it. mgk really took me on a journey here because when i listened to it again, i loved it. i honestly love it more each time i listen to it.
‘title track’ starts out so strong and the lyrics are absolutely beautiful. the chorus of this is very loud and there’s a lot of screaming but i ... read more
i listened to this to make fun of it and then i actually liked it. he's like mgk, yungblud and jxdn all mashed up into one. the man has potential, i'll give him that.
i can't even explain how bad this was. he sounds so out of breath through this entire thing like he just ran a marathon and then decided to record this long ass album. i mean seriously, 22 tracks is a lot and when it's going to be this bad, you might want to stick to less than that. this is the actual definition of dad rap and no one here is going to change my mind.
When I first heard that Jeremy was releasing brent ii, I honestly thought I wouldn't like it at all. After he released 'supercuts' and 'nothings the same,' I really liked the direction he was going in, from slow love ballads to upbeat songs with more personality. When 'this is how you fall in love' came out, I didn't like it at all because I felt like he was going back to his 'love is not dying' days but the mediocre version.
When the rest of brent ii came out, I changed my mind but not ... read more
YES TAYLOR, POP OFF
When I first heard taylor was going to start re-recording her first six studio albums I was literally so excited. Actually, excited is a big understatement but there's no better word. Pre-Reputation Taylor Swift was iconic and will forever be iconic. That era of her music production will be with us forever. Love Story is already one of her best songs and Taylor's Version is amazing. Taylor's version takes away nothing from the original, only adds to the beauty of the entire ... read more
WHERE'S THE ALBUM TATE
I'm starting to think this is an extremely unpopular opinion but I absolutely loved this song. The progression of her vocals throughout this song is absolutely beautiful. I love the lyrics in this especially the intro.
Was it a wasted couple months?
Sneaking outta the window, spending nights in limbo
Was that all there was for us?
Midnight driving, running through highland
Does it make me the criminal?
it's such a powerful intro that draws you into the song from the ... read more
this is already so cliche but...
WOKE UP FEELING GOOD, DRINKING HOLY WATER
+ 10 POINTS FOR ACTUALLY RELEASING
This entire song slaps, the beat, the lyrics, the production. It's amazing. The chorus is so catchy, I can guarantee it's going to be stuck in my head for the next year. There's a huge improvement in his vocals and the entire thing sounds so smooth. The instrumental on the intro was insane to start off and just got better as it went on. This has the potential to become as big as ... read more
When you add Megan and Doja to a song, you can only imagine how great it's going to be.
The original song was not my favorite, it just felt a bit basic and repetitive with the lyrics. It was boring but adding on Doja and Megan completely changed it. The two of them are some of the biggest names in the industry right now and they both brought this song to another level.
I liked Doja's verse better especially her witty one liners. "I want that six-nine without Tekashi" being my ... read more
You’re right ZAYN, nobody is listening because this was a hot mess.
I listened to ‘Better’ and ‘Vibez’ with @cry and we could both agree that he had just missed the mark with them. The best word I can use to describe them is boring. After listening to those tracks, I decided that I wouldn’t waste my time with this album but after further consideration I decided to give it a try.
The first track, “Calamity” was just strange and really set the ... read more
First review of 2021 is going to this amazing song. Her debut single ‘Control’ quickly gained popularity because of her stunning vocals and lyrics. Her mature voice makes it hard to believe she’s only 18. After the success of ‘Control’ she comes back with ‘Girls Like Us’ and I couldn’t be happier. Lyrics such as “Mirror, mirror on the wall, I don't see beautiful, Staring back at me” are incredibly powerful and they truly showcase the ... read more
“So at peace with all the war”
‘Nothing’s the same’ is this stunning track by two smaller artists. Jeremy Zucker has of course had huge success with ‘all the kids are depressed’ and ‘comethru’ but Alexander 23 is lesser-known. Honestly, these guys deserve every bit of recognition they get because this song is amazing.
They both write in an indie-pop style and I love the vibe that you get from listening to this song. With their similar ... read more
There's no denying that Lil Tjay has talent. He was spectacular on 'Mood Swings' and here he is again with an amazing single. He comes in with these super catchy lyrics and an amazing hook. Honestly, it's catchy enough to be a tik tok song but let's not go there. This song has a very engaging intro that makes you want to listen to the rest. The backup instrumentals are quite brilliant, they not only add to the beauty of the song but they also enhance its impact as a whole. He has a great voice ... read more
As a person that has been following Tate McRae since her days of singing in her bedroom, I’m pleasantly surprised with this song. ‘r u ok’ is something new and different from what she usually writes. I love the lyrics and her voice fits perfectly with the background track. Ya, it’s not her best song but, it’s not like that’s a bad thing. She’s growing from her “bedroom pop” vocals into this very mature sounding voice. She’s definitely ... read more
When I first listened to his EP, ‘Don’t Forget About Me, Demos’, I honestly thought he showed a lot of promise. I did not in fact forget about him and I hoped that with his debut album the world wouldn’t either.
After listening to this, those feelings disappeared almost entirely. With the exception of a few tracks, this album is a mess. What could have been his rise to fame turned out to be something very average and honestly forgettable.
Tracks like ‘Cancel ... read more
evermore is Taylor's second studio album of 2020. It's considered to be the sister album of folklore. In my opinion, evermore is the little sister that just shined brighter. It comes with a tracklist of beautiful songs and a surprising but welcome load of instrumentals in the back. While the two albums are extremely similar, this one did what folklore couldn't do for me.
This is one of those albums where the music adds to the beauty of the lyrics she's written. The style of this album matches ... read more
