One of the most fun first listens of a record I’ve had in a long time. The energy that Joey Valence & Brae brings to this record, with some of the sickest production I’ve heard in a long time and some of the funniest bars I’ve ever heard, I can see this being a go-to gym album for the foreseeable future. Incredibly fun record from these guys.
Yeah I know, but Because the Internet really doesn’t do much for me. I appreciate what Childish Gambino was going for here, but I’m not a fan of the fact that in order to have any idea what’s going on in the story of this album you have to read this boring ahh screenplay for a movie that didn’t exist. The story itself is pretty good, I just wish it was communicated better throughout the actually music itself which, ngl, I’m also not anger fan of. Gambino has this ... read more
I feel like my main motivation for wanting to check this out was the artwork, which I thought looked very cool. Luckily, the music matched the vibe of the artwork and I was met with a really vibrant and alive feeling alternative pop record. The production and instrumentation have an almost Madonna-like quality about them, but with a modern flare that makes this feel like an album released in 2026. If I had any issues at all they all came from Hemlocke Springs’ voice, cause at some point I ... read more
This album is insulting. I’m not gonna act like I’m some massive Joji super fan or anything, but I’ve liked enough of his work to has been excited for this release, but this album is just unfinished. I’d say like 80% of the songs here feel like incomplete demos that have cool ideas but aren’t going anywhere. Plus the entire album has no idea what it wants to sound like with songs like PIXELATED KISSES and LOVE YOU LESS being like total opposites in terms of style. ... read more
Possibly the most out there album I’ve ever listened to, URGH was consistently wowing me with its insane production and arrangements, and being at a crisp 34 minutes, what’s there not to like? My one thing is that it’s not really replayable on any level. Like it’s the type of album I listen to once and say ‘banger’ then don’t really need to listen to again. Still, really liked what I heard and I wouldn’t say it’s impossible that I ever ... read more
Eh, I mean it’s kinda cute. I wanted there to be more music that sounds like this so I guess I got my wish, but I do generally feel like this isn’t what I was hoping for. This album feels undercooked- just really short runtimes on every track and repetitive choruses that could have benefitted from a few more lyrics. It’s kinda fun, but not much more.
Yeah, that’s a Don Toliver album alright. OCTANE is less ambitious than HARDSTONE PSYCHO, but in that way it’s almost worse, cause at least HARDSTONE PSYCHO had some cool ideas and a handful of serious unironic bangers. I’m sure something here will pop off, but nothing has the same level of energy as a TORE UP or a BANDIT. It’s still enjoyable enough though, crazy that we live in a time where arguably the most consistent artist in the trap sub genre is Don Toliver of all ... read more
I had no idea what I was in for with this album. I was expecting Poppy to be doing some experimental Hyperpop or something so color me surprised to hear heavy metal upon pressing play. I’m not super well-versed in this genre so take my review with a grain of salt, but I really liked the instrumentation and hooks present on this project, very exciting and catchy in my opinion. This gave me some serious Bring Me The Horizon vibes the whole time I was listening to it and I can get down with ... read more

The more I think about and listen to this record, the more I have grown to really love and appreciate it. Definitely deserves the light 8 title.
IDK is an artist I’ve known about the existence of for a while now, but this has been the first release of his that I’ve actually checked out and yeah, I’m impressed. It’s nothing mind blowing by any means, IDK himself, despite some passionate performances, really doesn’t ... read more

After eight long years, it’s safe to say that Rocky’s still got it. This album is incredibly consistent across the board. It’s nothing mind blowing, and in that regard it might not have been worth the wait, but it does a great job at delivering a fun, exciting, hip hop album with influences from so many different genres. Really solid project, just don’t take a decade to make the next one Rocky.
Guys, I think Justin Bieber and The Kid LAROI accidentally got switched back in 2019. This album isn’t horrible or anything, but it certainly isn’t good. The first half is horrifically mixed to the point where you can barely hear LAROI on any of the songs, not that you would care to cause everything interesting about his voice has been gutted on this record in favor of bland Drake and Bieber wannabe tracks. There’s some random highlights here and there but overall this album ... read more
If you told me that Cavetown’s Running With Scissors would be an album that I would rock with, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. The Porter Robinson and Twenty One Pilots inspiration here on the production really worked for me and I found myself really enjoying the instrumental behind nearly every track. My issues arise with the lyrical content and delivery which had me cringing on multiple occasions, although I think it could also be ‘bad fanbase syndrome’ ... read more
Considering the lackluster 2025 that Zach Bryan had, I wasn’t expecting much from With Heaven On Top. Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised for the first half of this album and overall did find myself enjoying it for the most part. The second half is almost entirely fluff and if I decide to listen to this album in the future, it’ll probably be up until Anyways and then I’ll just turn it off or skip to the title track. Still, this album could have been a whole lot worse and all ... read more
Madison Beer rips off every pop girlie she can on this record, particularly Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, and surprisingly, Charli XCX. I can confidently say I was not expecting Hyperpop from this album but I will say it did help to make this a more enjoyable listen than the bland bedroom pop I was expecting. Still, she is absolutely ripping off her contemporaries shamelessly here and isn’t bringing much new to the table to make up for it. Nothing is bad and there’s even a few ... read more

The more I think about this album, the more unimpressive it is. The production is cool and all but without a substantial vocal performance to back it up it just makes the whole thing feel painfully boring.
Well this is cute. The star of SAULT’s Chapter 1 is very much Inflo’s production, but given the events that have transpired between him and Little Simz, that kinda makes that aspect of the album feel covered in spiders or ... read more
An album that demands your attention from the first few seconds, IGOR is one of the most legendary experimental albums ever constructed. The poignant story and masterful production along with the striking imagery and heart wrenching lyrics all come together to make this album into the triumph that it is, making IGOR one of the all time greats when it comes to hip hop albums and solidify Tyler, The Creator as a legend in his own right.
You know you’re in love with an album when the second literally any song on the album starts you’re 100% locked in and ready to give the performance of a lifetime. The Black Parade remains one of the easiest 10s I could ever give, from the incredible instrumentation to Gerard Way’s astounding vocals to the enthralling rock opera story being told, this album remains my favorite rock album of all time.
A master of his craft, Kanye West constructs his magnum opus with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, an album that may just be the most ambitious album of all time. This album is a master class of production, writing, and rapping in nearly every regard. Some parts may not work for everyone, some songs insist upon themselves, some features are a little underwhelming, and of course the infamous Chris Rock scene from Blame Game, but if you ca put that aside (and I can) then you are left with ... read more
I see the appeal, and I also see the shortcomings of EsDeeKid. The main shortcoming is just how undercooked most of this feels, I mean nearly every song is barely a minute and a half long. I guess that’s fine, if these songs were any longer they would probably become annoying really fast, but the day that EsDeeKid figures out how to make a full-length song that doesn’t fall into that trap he will have made it. The mixtape itself is pretty same-y across the board. Like all the songs ... read more
