I've heard Blow for Blow because of J. Cole, and I had never heard of Tee Grizzley before. I decided to listen to this album before he drops his new one this year, so I thought this would be pretty cool.
Most of the tracks are bloated in some ways, but the lyrics and flows kind of carry the entire project. The storytelling is amazing and kept me listening throughout the whole album! It’s decent at best and is mid, but it has some damn good songs in terms of writing and how things ... read more
While I finally got around to reviewing a King Von album and ended up really enjoying it, this album right here is another one I’ve always loved. I’ve been following Lil Durk since 2018 he’s always dropped music that’s either pretty good or, at worst, decent.
But this project specifically got me through some rough patches. Not because I related to anything he was saying it was just the delivery, the emotion, and the tone Durk had back then. There was something in the ... read more
I've never really gotten into Von probably because of all the stuff I’ve heard about him, most of it negative. Things like people calling him rap’s first serial killer and all that. But today, I decided to give the man a chance.
So, Welcome to O’Block, huh?
Well, I gotta say the lyrics and that aggressive delivery really carry this project. The production gets down to those Chicago drill roots, and the features, solid all across the board. Pretty damn nice for a debut ... read more
I’m not deep into the emo scene, aside from the sad rap side with Juice WRLD and a few others, but Key vs. Locket’s "i felt like a sketch" is pulling me into a whole new sound. It’s loud, emotional, and honestly kinda beautiful in the way it views the world.
What’s really been hitting me the most so far is the guitar work. I don’t know what it is, but it’s like it tickles my brain until it can’t laugh anymore. There’s an energy to it ... read more
$NOT's debut album, - TRAGEDY +, marks a real shift in his sound he’s still got that signature chill delivery, but this time it’s paired with some of his most melodic and emotionally-driven production yet. There’s a moody, almost ethereal quality to a lot of these tracks, and it works so damn well.
The biggest standout for me has to be “Moon & Stars” featuring Maggie Lindemann her fucking voice?? Unreal. I’ve never heard her before this, but the way ... read more
Chief keef, the one rapper I still bump to this day.. I remember when this shit dropped and BOOM half the rap scene changed for the good or the worse. I remember my dad putting on I don't like, hate bein sober, love sosa, and laughing to the bank. I mean this entire project was BANGIN like you really couldn't hate it unless you weren't into rap but as far as this project goes and deserves the word classic.
Ahh yes… JPEGMAFIA. I'm finally getting around to expanding my music tastes, especially within the hip hop wave. I heard this artist earlier today after a friend recommended him to me, knowing how much I enjoy hip hop and I’ve gotta say, my first listening experience was amazing. There weren’t really any skips, and I absolutely love the experimentation, especially when it comes to the production.
If I had to pick my favorite songs off ILDMLFY, they’d be ... read more
After giving Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation a listen, I’ve found myself warming up to $uicideboy$ a lot more lately. It’s not just the flow (though it has its smooth moments), but the lyrics are where they really shine. There's a rawness to them that hits deep. The flow can be a bit all over the place—sometimes a little wanky, but in a way that still makes it work. For me, Genesis really stood out. The Mario Game Over sample gave it that nostalgic feel, and ... read more
Hello, It’s Tripp Dawg—rapper, producer, and music reviewer—back with another deep dive into hip-hop history.
A Timeless Classic: Method Man’s Tical
Method Man’s Tical is an undeniable hip-hop classic, a project that perfectly captures his raw lyricism, unique flow, and some of the hardest-hitting beats to come out of the Wu-Tang camp. Released in 1994 as the first solo album from a Wu-Tang Clan member after Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), Tical set the stage for ... read more
After Open Up My Third Eye! dropped a month or two ago, it was amazing, and now he drops another banger project! My only skip would probably be "I Think I Miss the Garbage" and "Fix Me Up Like Duct Tape," but a song I absolutely adore on this project has to be "Angel From the Sky." I really love the instrumental on that track. So far, he's been dropping many albums with tons of music for the listeners, and it’s been great to see the variety and ... read more
Okay, I never heard of this guy, but don't get me wrong—this album has its highs and lows! I'm really vibing with most of the tracks, especially the ones that have this smooth, laid-back feel. Some tracks hit harder than others, but overall, it’s a solid listen. The production is clean, and Eem's flow is catchy, mixing light-hearted moments with a bit of emotional depth. It's a really good album to relax to, with some great vibes throughout. If you're into ... read more
I've been wanting to review this – MAVI’s Shadowbox gave me all the feels. His lyricism is on point, and every track is enjoyable. There aren't any duds here, just a solid vibe with some emotional depth. Perfect for a late-night listen, where you can just sit back and really soak it in.

Roddy Ricch’s Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial was fire, but not without its moments where I had to check if my headphones were broken.
Let’s start with the obvious: "The Box" ran the world for a solid year, and that EE ERR sound is probably coded into my DNA at this point. Roddy’s flow was insane, and the energy was unmatched—definitely a highlight. "War Baby" Man, that choir in the background made me feel like I was ascending. Roddy poured his ... read more
REDO:
Okay, maybe I focused too much on the score, but honestly, this was a good album. The production leaned more towards trap than boom bap, and the features really went hard. My performances were solid, as usual, pretty much what you'd expect from a white rap artist.
Lately, I’ve been trying to broaden my music taste and take a little break from rap since it’s been flooding my system for a while. So, my friend sent me this track, and damn, it’s fire. The production is insane, the glitchy noisy chaos comes together in such a unique way, and it’s just the right kind of crazy. Overall, this song is REALLY fuckin’ good. I’m seriously hyped to hear more from Jane Remover in the future!
Finally listening to Balloonerism and taking it all in!!!
The production is super trippy and exceeded my expectations, it really pulls you into its world. Some parts do get a little samey, but the overall vibe is still crazy good. The lyrics hit deep, though I’m no expert at breaking them down. Rest in peace, Mac Miller.
