St.Anger was a wild album that I personally hated in the first listen but have come around to some songs. I might do a relisten of the original soon but I figured I give this version a shot as I know some people who really do like this album.
We start off with frantic and this is where we have to discuss a problem with this album's whole existence. I like some of these songs already, frantic being one of them. With that said, I just do not like this one. That ringing snare fit so well ... read more
Mgk’s one-note vocal ability really ruins what would be a good limp bizkit song
This was the hardest review of my life.
Okay so the instrumentals just…suck. Nothing memorable from the whole album. Of course, you don’t think of instrumentals with this album (We will get back to this later actually). You think of the elephant in the room or rather the lou reed in the room. All his lines are spoken like an audiobook. Now this normally aint that much of a problem. Heck, Roger Waters did the same thing and that was a 4/10. So why is this bad? Well it’s ... read more
This is some sick shoegaze/alt metal. I really enjoy this kind of music and I can see some of the deftones influence in this album. That said, it stands as its own project perfectly fine. While the short interlude-like tracks do kinda mess the momentum of the album, I still believe this to be a wonderful album that surprises me with some of the guitar work.
This band recently blew up from a performance that went viral and while knowing that it dropped earlier, I wanted to wait a bit for the hype to die down. Now that it’s been a couple weeks, I think it’s time to review.
This album has a lot of strength in the start with Mata Zyklek being one of my favorite songs of the year. The energy in that and the rest of the first 3 songs are very high. I do think that the album loses steam in Utzp. None of the songs are bad and I would actually ... read more
This album is perfect. I wouldn’t change a single thing. Every song is peak and full of energy that just got me with a smile on my face. I am never bored with this album. It’s like a soundtrack made to uplift. Amazing work from wonder man
This album gives an experience no other tool album does. I am tired of pretending this aint their best work
Okay...this was too much. I loved the last album but I think they played too much into it on this album that it doesn't feel as truly nerdy as it's predecessor. Space Marine Corps feels performative in its humor and some tracks like Killer Queen and Kingdom of Steel are just not interesting.
One thing to say though, Doomsday Party was good. The haters are wrong. Additionally, I HATE how this album does not have any NEW bonus tracks. they always usually do a japanese exclusive that ... read more
Yeah this is cheesy af. I don't care. They embody it perfectly on this album AND I LOVE IT!!!
This got me into metal. My first ever metal album. Honestly, it still holds up. While some stinkers exist like WAR and hatred and Revenge, this is such a tonal shift from the past albums that really worked.
This grew on me so much. This is what The Power Within should have been.
Their worst album because it plays super safe. Marc kills it. The issue is the rest of the band. Still has heaters like Seasons, Holding on, and one of the greats being Wings of Liberty.
We all know the funny guitar hero song(s) but honestly this whole album is peak save for Flame of Youth.
Their debut, while having some of their best songs, also can be a little dry in some mainly being Revelations and Evening Star
The solos on this album are some of DF's best. Not to mention the overall beauty of the music is something to really take in.
