Jahseh might be a flawed artist that isn't good consistently on his projects, but this EP contains his most artistic and heartbreaking songs to date. Incredibly overwhelimng and touching EP
After an handful of projects with a lot of different directions, Lana pulls through with one of her most personal and experimental projects. NFR is touching and very focused, it is the American Dream, one of the best art pop albums of the year of not the best.
NFR is an amazing album front to back, it explores a lot of guitar chords and different artistic sounds that turn this to a very unique project on her discography, which proves how Lana is anything but generic, this is incredibly good ... read more
While many people found this catchy, i only found 1 song to be that way, and it was Bussdown. Other than that this is pretty much filled with boring tracks that while most of them aren't terrible, are pretty uninteresting and hard to get into, i feel like this is maybe better than his previous tape on terms of quality and verses and finally going a bit better with the beat, but his voice is annoying. and it pisses me the hell off. Taht being said i feel like this is decent for my standards of ... read more
After such a streak of albums, Lust For Life is overall a very very tragically underwhelming. For a load of reasons.
The first reason being Lana sounding more commercial and generic than ever, when she used to be the quisky and unique mainstream pop artist with the dreamy art pop sound, she does this by using a production that feels more commercial, loads of features that mostly dont match her, and poor lyricism.
This album has nice cuts, but for the first time in her career, i managed to ... read more
After 3 great projects, Lana came back with more summer vibes in an album that resembles a lot of her personal life and Cali stereotypes. Thematically this album is great, and very entertaining at moments, but while this feels richer on that side, it feels like her lyrics and vocal ability isn't tested anymore, which leads for me to feel like Lana tried to play it safe on this project.
I love the theme and most of the songs, but this album is Lana's comfort zone, and the fact that it feels ... read more
After the masterpiece that Born To Die, and the little experiments on Paradise, Lana comes back with an album where she decides to explore her limits when it comes to creativity way more, with a more psychedelic and alternative dreamy production. Her lyrical delivery is also pretty much an overall improvement from the previous album.
The main difference between Ultraviolence and Born To Die in my point of view, is her artistical and commercial approach, while BTD looked like a great but ... read more
This is a very jaded and thematically creative follow up to Born To Die, Paradise mostly feels like a B-Sides or a Deluxe version of Lana's breakout album.
And while being more straight the point than Born To Die, Paradise while not suffering from some of the issues on Born To Die, it still feels very very similar to it, which makes this very forgettable on her discography, it is jaded and tragic like typical Lana, it is very enjoyable, but being mostly a copy of her debut makes this project ... read more
Considering that this Chamber Pop/Art Pop isn't that mainstream or commercially popular, the fact that Lana was able to blow up to a commercial world is still amazing to me. And while her discography isn't perfect, her debut is definitely a bright spot on her discography.
The artistic approach taken by Lana is very creative for a mainstream artist, her persona is intoxicating and addicting, her voice is incredibly versatile and also beautiful. The cohesion of the album is great, no skips on ... read more
I was never a huge fan of RHCP, so i decided to listen to their albums, and this being their first one to be very relevant, and the most acclaimed one, i decided to pass by and check this.
I can definitely see the appeal of this, with such a unique rock sound, with a huge mix and variety of funky sounds and 90's rock gimmicks, which made them so unique and popular at the time.
In my opinion this album is slightly overrated, i've listened to better coming from this legendary band, and while ... read more
The most artistic an one of the most raw and abitious Old School Hip Hop albums, it's not groundbreaking, but Ice Cube's cadence here is amazing
While not being that bad, the NWA post Ice Cube is very underwhelming, this was the fall of one of the most iconic groups on hip hop
After a great and aggressive gangsta rap debut by this Houston clique, they release their peak project, coming off with more appealing techniques on an album that overall is easier to get into but also easily better on a lyrical way, this is in every point of view their peak album.
As a stan of Ariana Grande, i felt the need to go through this.
I usually don't expect much from soundtracks, and Don't Call Me Angel wasn't that interesting, but this is VERY VERY WEAK, this is one of the worst music projects of the year period. Pretty much everything here sounds generic, and i hate how much this soundtrack was only made for the cash. Hate this. Fuck This
Only good tracks: How I Look On You, Got Her Own (leaked in 2016)
Im gonna start by saying this, i'm not a huge fan of rock, punk, metal, or 90's music in general, thats rlly how i am. But there's no excuse for this, this album is one of the most overwhelming and amazing trips and experiences i ever had, this is truly breathtaking front to back, this is a classic and one of my most beloved projects under the rock genre, and possibly the best project of the 90's.
This is truly amazing
At this point, i feel like the Swans are a typical hit-miss-hit-miss band, always dropping a groundbreaking project followed by a couple of similar tracks that dont differ must from the previous project. After 2 pretty dope albums, here it is, a gigantic and monstruos album, the sound of nightmares, the terrifying album named The Great Annihilator.
Even though the transition isn't enormous, this album is definitely a step forward compared to Whit Light and Love For Life, this interesting mix ... read more
This project connects really well with Whit Light, but kinda fails to improve much from it, but it's still nice, just not as relevant as most of the Swans albums.
I was really surprised to see that Freddie had a new peoject, specailly after he released the amazing Bandana.
Then i noticed that the production of this album was made by the legendary hit-maker The Alchemist, i was really expecting this project to be amazing, and IT IS, Freddie Gibbs does not fail or let any of us down when it comes to his projects, and this is the ultimate proof of it, with this amazing production that isn't much different from Madlib's, i loved going through this conscious ... read more
Bad Romance has to be one of the best pop singles of all time, the rest is nice too, amazing EP
Edit: So little time passed, and my consideration for the album already fell quite a bit, it doesnt have a huge replay value (original score: 79)
GAGAS BACK
Well this was obviously one of the most anticipated albums by me this year, maybe the album i was the most excited to year on pop for this year, and with the teasers to this album showing great quality i was super excited to hear this. Stupid Love had a nice energy and concept, Rain On Me was a great collab with Ari that grew on me alot, ... read more
