While not changing that much from their last album when it comes to a genre and an approach, this album manages to be more creative at least, and way more enjoyable front to back, maybe it's because of the short lenght of it, the pop synths and the mastering of this album is underrated and is pretty nice, this album proves how pop rock Queen era is actually nice
Moving from glam/hard rock with a very unique touch, Queen is at this point a generic pop rock band. This isn't the start of the fall off for them, it all started on the previous album, but this is where they actually hit rock bottom on creativity, i actually find it enjoyable at times, but when i remember myself that this is a Queen album my consideration goes down quickly. One of their worst projects to date. Very repetitive and cringe-inductive.
This album was probably one of their most successful with hits like Another One Bites The Dust, but hoping into the 80's, Queen really start to face their music in a more appealing and commercial way, playing with pop synths and more basic Rock sounds, and while this has very enjoyable cuts, their creative essence starts to get more and more washed away from them starting with this album, this isnt as creative and it's sometimes cringe-inducing too. This is the change nobody asked for.
One of the most successful and memorable projects by Queen, this is one of their most creative and intriguing projects to date, a very intriguing and fun experience front to back, but just like most of their albums, it struggles for containing unnecessary cuts this projects that are already short, but this one doesn't suffer from this problem as much as others do, but at the end this album is very alternative and simbolic of this band, which makes this album different.
This album isn't close to being a remarkable album on the classic rock catalogue, but it's the best album in a while by Queen, but this legacy is mostly due to how memorable 2 or 3 tracks from here are nowadays, this album was really successful and the classic tunes from it boost the album quite a bit, but it's still nice
While being quite enjoyable for most of the time, this isn't a memorable album on their discography and it isnt fully consistent front to back, but the high points are really high
This was out of all the Queen's best-selling albums the oldest, the first gigantic Queen project, and in that way i'd like to call it slightly overrated, ccause this transition and the way this album was approached was interesting but not the one i'd want to showcase, i did prefer the last 2 albums over this one, and if it wasnt for Bohemian Rhapsody which is one of the bigegst classics of all time, this album would be a low spot on their discography, other than that this more artistic ... read more
This isn't super different from their previous release, but this is more cohesive and touching, very catchy and creative rock album by Queen, once again an upgrade on quality for this historic british band. While Queen II was the debut of this essence and style, this is the step up that made this essence remarkable on rock history.
This album marks a little change from 60's influenced progressive rock into something more modern for the time with some glam brit rock. I can definitely see the difference between both projects, and this sounds more unique and expressive than the previous project without a doubt, it's not their peak but it's their first fully enjoyable project. The essence and creativity of Queen is really born here.
Queen's debut shows their linearity and leaning into the more progressive rock wave of the early 70's. But it fails to be any memorable or impress for a debut project, it's not bad but it kinda falls on expectations, it still doesn't have a fully implemented personality sounding kind of generic after all, they really got better with time and fame, plus the intrumentals aren't that good just like the mixing and the mastering here. It can be enjoyable but i left uninpressed
A very varied and interesting debut by Mariah Carey, on this album that showcases her vocal range and how amazing it is, with a lot of amazing and very distinct cuts with a lot of ideas. Great debut album for a popstar on the 90's
A mix of jazz rap and conscious lyrics at it's best, one of the best abstract hip hop projects to ever be released, great project when it comes to lyrics and an amazing experience, incredible mix of cultures and cultural ideas on the lyrics. A top 5 hip hop project of the 90's. We would need to wait 13 years to see abstract hip hop at its best again with MF DOOM and Madlib.
Pac's Debut
I overall prefer Pac over Biggie mostly for Pac's style and charisma which is to me more appealing than Biggie's, but overall, it's because of albums like this that makes us think if Pac really has a better discography, and it's untrue, his flow is really nice overall and the vibe of the album is pretty nice, but it just feels like something is missing, and the repetitive production makes this album boring after a while, but Pac still being underground by this time is probably the ... read more
Really hungry and raw debut solo project by Ice Cube, he really comes through with a very entertaining and smart project under the Gangsta Rap movement of the early 90's. There's really not much about this project that is negative.
Decent EP from the West Coast legend Ice Cube, it's not as good as the record that preceded this one, but as an EP it is pretty solid and often enjoyable
Pretty aggressive and reckless album by The Geto Boys, one of the best early hip hop projects. Very entertaining and hard.
Once again i feel like the only user here who genuinely enjoys Gunna.
This is one of the most enjoyable trap albums of the year so far, it's not that widely creative since we all know how Gunna does his sound over and over again, but this project is overall very consistent in my opinion, i still feel like Gunna's vibe and infusion of influences make him a very unique artist on trap music, appreciated this a lot.
Best: ROCKSTAR BIKERS & CHAINS, DOLLAZ ON MY HEAD, TOP FLOOR
One of the first great albums of the year, this dreamy and psychedelic pop project by Indie artist Alexandra Savior is a great infusion of many elements, from the 60's psychedelic influence to guitars and indie rock elements, this album gives out a really pleasant feeling, it is easy to get into and it demonstrates a great chemistry front to back.
Best Songs: The Phantom, Saving Grace
