So Uzi decided to release 14 extra songs to his Eternal Atake album, and apparently it is an entirely new project, with a distinct and different approach.
While not being has hard and edgy as Eternal Atake, the sequel to his acclaimed 2016 tape LUV vs The World seems to follow some of the gimmicks of his 2016 self, being less aggressive and exploring more his spacy and athmospheric material. While i do appreciate his delivery here, i think that the fact that he simply just isn't that emotional ... read more
Olivia's debut full lenght project is a mix of emotional and heartbreaking stories of her life and very enjoyable pop tracks. The emotional side of the album makes this experience really touching for the first half, she has a really nice voice and it rides the beat perfectly. The production shows variety and a mix of R&B and eletronic pop tunes.
This project is vulnerable and insecure, and it makes this a different and very enjoyable approach by a pop artist that at first seems to be just ... read more
Polo G has a decent energy and his debut was a little boring but his personality was cativating and interesting, i was really hyped for this, but this left me really underwhelmed, what brings me down here is how Polo G seems to change from an honest and aspiring project, to a project that seems totally middle of the road, his lyrical delivery is nothing new, it's more of the same stuff but now blander and less unique. Don't get how this project is being so hyped. Plus it's really long for a ... read more
This is overall the most consistent, emotional, beautiful, and catchy art pop album i have heard in a while.
Perfume Genius comes back with his best album so far in my opinion, and this is an amzing comeback, this album seems to be very creative production wise, and a very varied project front to back, this is perfect from beggining to end, and there are no moments on this project that leave u waiting for more, its pleasing and fulfilling, a great artistic experience. The mixing of many ... read more
Houston we have a problem here, trapper Lil Uzi Vert, came back from his trip from space on a UFO and is currently landing....
Ok now fr, Lil Uzi came back with the most anticipated album under the trap genre of the last couple of years, sources say that this album was made multiple times and reworked over and over again. I expected Lil Uzi to come out as the trapper of the century after years of work and issues with his team, and....no. This is below my expectations.
To be honest, this album ... read more
Lil Wayne's back, after a lil over a year, to deliver a gigantic project.
Holy shit, WHY DOES THIS HAVE 24 TRACKS, i would enjoy huge Wayne projects like Da Drought 3, because those mixtapes represented his artistcial and technical peak, those tapes we're legendary, but those days are over, and Wayne needs to cope with that by releasing relevant projects that entertain you front to back, and instead we get this.
Tbh, it's not that bad, it has a whole ton of terrible ideas and bad tracks, but ... read more
I was really hyped for this project, while not being super talented, Megan has a great charisma and energy that got me into her work, and this EP had everything to be great.
At the end as it is an EP, i feel like the main objective here is trying new stuff and experimenting shit, but this didn't go out that well, it has 3 major issues.
1: The production feels like the songs weren't done, sounds like a demo project
2: Megan tried to experiment R&B tunes towards the second half of the EP, ... read more
Lil Baby while not being the most unique or creative trapper, is able to drop an ok project, considering that this is 20 songs long, i expected it to be way more boring than it actually is.
The production is decent, the vocals are fine, and the verses are overall tolerable, i just hope trappers realized how boring 20 song albums end up becoming, thats what brings this project down in quality, but overall it's a ride that goes from fun to tedious at some points
This is finally here, lets go
See i love Charli for a reason, and it is how innovative she is, there are certainly way more relevant bubblegum bass artists out there, like 100gecs for example, but none of them are known on the mainstream scene of eletropop, and Chali XCX turned from pop to this experimental and alternative bass vibe, and is shifting the culture by doing it, shes an innovator and an incredibly unique and talented artist.
But this album at the end is not perfect, i feel ... read more
Edit: Ok, idk what i was on but, after re-streaming this 2 times, i realized how average this record is, it has a low replay value, and while being kind of unique lyrically on his discography, it is pretty uninteresitng overall)
Previous score: 78
Future back at his prime.
Future comes back after almost a year after he released his EP 'SAVE ME', to release a seemingly really long project, just like his last LP The Wizrd, which was in my opinion an overhated LP, but it missed bright spots, ... read more
Once again, Pop Smoke comes with his exquisite and aggressive drill delivery, on a record that overall sounds more ambitious than its predecessor, it's more creative and way better produced in general.
Royce da 5'9 releases his self produced and conscious album, i was really interested to check how tthis sounded, and the main issue with this is definitely how he prioritzes the message hes tryna spread, kind of ignoring how the music will sound, which makes this project interesting on a lyrical standpoint but occasionaly repetitive and boring.
I like most of the features that are present on this album, most of them are rappers and artists that i find underrated and interesting, the lyricism ... read more
I used to have a soft spot for this dude in my rap catalogue, i never saw pure talent and anyhing unique about him but his energy on cuts from his last 2 LP's made them occasionaly enjoyable and catchy, and i only expected this to keep this pace.
While coming into this project ready for 20 songs and an entire hour of Boogie, i quickly found out it was a mistake, there's nothing interesting about this album, not only he sounds exactly the same over time, but he's able to transform it into ... read more
It's really scary to hop into 41 minutes of predictable mediocrity, and Blueface once again sounds boring here, i never got captivated by his charisma and personality has a gangsta rap pioneer of this days, i do not like his voice neither, it is really raspy and annoying.
Coming with 0 hopes to this long trap album, what i can say is that the production sounds better when being generic then when it had it's kind of uniqueness on his past releases, i prefer the mainstream generic production ... read more
Navy Blue, creative and abstract rapper, longtime friend with Earl Sweatshirt, sounds a lot like him, and even tho i did enjoy this album, i dont think it went anywhere very unique as i expected it to go, this is honestly weaker than average abstract rappers, and even tho the exquisite and soulful production of this album make it a really enjoyable project, i feel like anyone else could go over this beats.
I anticipated this release because of how their popularity got boosted from Ariana Grande, and this is really bad.
I like their production at times, but they are kinda hit or miss, plus i do not like the lyrics to this, i didn't even love ''boyfriend'' that much being an ari stan, i still think that song is mid.
Besides like a couple moments this is a really weak and uninteresting release.
Best songs: Haunt You, boyfriend
Worst; anything else
I was really curious for this record, for not only being abstract but also for the high ratings.
While not being a slum, this is very interesting and a great listen, not super unique in my point of view but really interesting, lyrical, personal, and intriguing. KA is very detailed and a perfectionist on his writing which makes him one of the most amazing lyricists of this generation. I love how he explored this production and made it similar but extremely enjoyable in every single cut. And ... read more
For a 16 minute long mixtape, this feels both generic and also a rollercoaster, the kind of production used here switches up really quckly making this a very confusing project. But at the end i think that even tho Jack isn't that good and occasionaly corny, i appreciate some cuts here, hes catchy.
Best: WHATS POPPIN, SMELLS LIKE INCENSE
Worst: I WANNA SEE SOME ASS, HEY BIG HEAD
Tracks Ranked:
A LOT MORE 6/10 (This is enjoyable overall, the track is energetic, the verse is ok, and even tho im not into the hook i kinda appreciate the vibe)
CIVIL WAR (This is the catchiest song here, and probably the only catchy song, even tho it isnt good on a writing point of view, this is nice)
MOMMA 5.5/10 (I like the production here, but even tho i like some moments here, his approach is really weird, but oh well i enjoyed this a bit)
ALL TO YOU 5/10 (Honestly this wasn't that ... read more
I didn't really feel like listening to this album, but the 60'ish reviews got me pretty impressed, so i decided to come and give it a try.
While i still find this to be really weak, i need to remind everyone how terrible NAV really is, all his 3 past albums were mostly unlistenable and cringy, and the thing here is that this album is a huge upgrade for NAV, this will be a popular trap album, and i can understand why.
His flow sounds better than ever, and the production is enjoyable, but what ... read more
