With an amazing start, a great ending and a spotty middle, this ends up being a very enjoyable, though sometimes forgettable album.
Not as many individual great songs compared to After Hours, but together this is a great album.
I'm a big TOP fan, I even think Scaled and Icy wasn't that bad. Maybe I was dropped as a child.
Hard to deny that this is a mid album though. +10 just for heavydirtysoul though
Besides a couple of stumbles, this is a great introspective record from Kendrick.
Probably was more unique back when it first released, but still a pretty damn good album.
Strangely, enjoyed Demon Days more. Feels like this one has a couple more 'meh' tracks.
Still a great album nonetheless.
A tad overhated.
However, the drop in quality after trench is like a punch to the stomach.
A lot of hits. Strangely modern and still 'experimental' despite being so old by now.
Decent listen, feel like something is missing though. Maybe the theme and the message is so in-your-face the whole album that I just get tired of it? Hard to say. Might need to listen to this again some time in the future.
Every track has a story to tell yet it somehow feels like it's just JID going off the top of his head with these amazing flows.
Maybe I'm not the right demographic, but this felt very average to me. The songwriting is so one note and the production is so uninspired that I feel like I'm not going to remember this album by the end of the week.
Not for everyone, but if you're in a mood for it, it's hard to find a better album than this.
