Well... this album makes me feel so many emotions, and its somehow both incredible and boring at the same, its impressive actually. 4 long ass tracks, which have really interesting sounds whose lenghts both improve upon and damage the quality of the album.
The production feels really orchestral at times, and lets just say... im not a biggest fan of drone. Drone most of the time feels like filler space, which can work sometimes as build up, but which it cant carry itself alone, but thats just ... read more
Another Ween review where i will brainlessly glaze tf out of them! This is actually their first professionally recorded album. The record is such a trip, and the song styles and themes switch up so fast, that i cant help but love it for that.
The production is so incredible. They can either sound so silly and weird, or they can just have a psychedelic feel to them. Also, i actually really like Candi cause of how weird the song is.

Okay... first of all, long ass album. Second, its a pretty good long ass album. Some songs show off a nice and chill atmosphere, and some are just kinda ominous, and they mostly work pretty well. The 11 minute track however... its not that good.
The production, like i said, is either chill or really dark, and i started to appreciate these more after seeing what Richard achieved with... pretty minimal resources to say the least.
Just a side note, the numbers on this album really confuse me, ... read more
My first Porter Robinson album, and it was quite a nice experience. Sure, its not as good as the hype suggests, but its still an enjoyable project. Basically, the album has some great moments, but also some that are uninteresting.
The production is mostly electronic, and is generally good, but it can sometimes feel like its doing too much, like on the chorus of Cheerleader. Porter also knows how to sing pretty well.
Best track: Mona Lisa
Worst track: Year of the Cup
Such an amazing listen. I much prefered this to Vespertine, cause it has a much more interesting sound. Also, Homogenic has, at some points, very weird tracks that i adore like Pluto.
The production has similar elements to Vespertine that came after, but it somehow does them better and with more style to it (not hating on Vespertine, its still a great record). Bjork's vocals are also incredible.
Best track: Pluto
Worst track: Immature
Mezzanine is such an interesting and menacing album. While being slightly too long imo, it still manages to leave an impression on me. Honestly, my biggest complain has to be the lack of any sound switch-ups, leaving the album to feel the same.
The production, again, is pretty sinister, with its bass consistently going on in the background. Again again, the problem is that it feels so fucking same at some points. The vocals are really on point, i like the features as well.

Well, i finally encouraged myself to listen to this and... i expected better honestly. Honestly dont really get how this is (as of writing this) NUMBER 1 ALBUM OF THE YEAR. The second half really weakens this albuns experience, and at some points its just background music.
The production can be really nice at times, but like i said, it start blending into the background after a while. Charli's vocals are also pretty nice, although some vocal effects feel a bit off at times.

This is probably the last Childish Gambino record, and honestly its probably his weakest (ignoring Camp). It feels like Donald had some ideas for the sound of the album, but couldnt choose between them, so he just shoved them all in this album. I feel like this one even drags on at some moments, and it doesnt feel as consistent as Atavista.
The production is a mix of Neo Soul and psychedelic elements to just straight up Industrial Hip Hop. While some tracks succeed greatly, some fall ... read more
Denzel finally dropped, and of course he didnt disappoint. This time, he went back to his old style from his mixtape era (i mean, its a sequel for a reason), and he did that quite good here. Some tracks do sound uninteresting tho, like the first 3 songs, which make the starting point a bit sloppy.
The production is really hardcore, having even some elements of memphis rap as well. Some beats tho do sound like its just sharting noises cause of the bass. Denzel can still rap pretty good, and the ... read more

(Btw im now doing these recommendations at random now cause the thing is bascially done due to the lack of recs and me being busy)
First time listening to Boris, and its pretty good actually, but some things to bother me. For example, Flood II and III are both fantastic tracks, but I and IV are left to be slightly disappointing compared to them.
The production is quite unique, having a mix of drone and post-rock sounds. When there are pay-offs to waiting, ... read more
JULY RECOMMENDATIONS #15: @morcomma (aint on the site anymore). Okay, i did skip a day cause i just wasnt able to, but ill still keep going.
Yeah... i didnt like this very much. Best way i can describe this album is "ASMR, the album". There are a lot of people saying how this is a relaxing album, and i get it, but the whispering doesnt help the situation. Although, i did like some tracks here and there.
The production is the best part of the album, and it quite fit well at times, ... read more
CATCHING MORE ZZZs WITH THIS ONE!!!
Another disappointing Swans record, and this is probably their most disliked one yet. So, they basically took the elements from their previous album which was actually good, and just did absolutely nothing with it.
The production is really repetitive and has absolutely nothing going on that makes it unique or special. A boring folk sound on here doesnt help. The vocals also feel much duller.
Best track: God Damn The Sun
Worst track: Cant Find My Way Home

Before i start this review, i would like to introduce you to my sponsor of this review:
If you like music, and discovering it, you probably wanna keep it all organized in a neat package without much issue. That's where AOTY comes in, with its beautifully sophisticated UI that makes it easy to rate, recommend, and connect with music and the people to share it with makes it as easy as 1, 2, 3. This is such a strange and interesting album, and i wish i liked it more. Some songs really feel unique, either be their instrumentals or being the vocalist himself doing some wacky shit.
The instrumentals are really jazzy and strange at the same time, and i havent really seen something like this. Its the best thing about this album. Sadly, same cant be said for the vocals, which can be REALLY annoying at times, and leave me quite uninterested in the ... read more

Its interesting how such a simple album can be so effective. Dont know much about Nick Drake, but goddamn does he bring such a unique vibe to these tracks. I wish it was longer tho.
The production is, again, pretty simple, contemporary folk. That simpleness really makes the experience both chill and melancholic. The lyrics and the vocals also touch you deeply.
Best track: Place To Be
Worst track: Horn
Eminem is back once again, and oh boy is this album a pile of nothing! Honestly, he should retire at this point. This concept album kills off the character of Slim Shady... by bringing him back in the first half. I would recommend playing a game, take a shot every time Eminem says how "offensive he is" and how "Gen Z is trying to cancel him", your liver will thank you!
The production on this is really nothing to write home about, it is mostly used as background sound, and ... read more

This album had so much to it, but in the end it felt like filler mostly. I still REALLY like some of the tracks here like the title track and Black Hole Sun, but the rest feels like background music.
The instrumentals are mostly grungy, and one of the first of its kind actually. Even with that in mind, it can still feel dull at moments, but it pulls it off sometimes. The vocals are also alright.
Best track: either Black Hole Sun or Superunknown

This is the best album so far in this recommendation marathon. This album is really breathtaking, and everything just kinda fit into the aesthetic of being beautiful and calming, and the album cover also fits the vibe.
The production is quite soft and amazing, really low-key and easy for the ears. Even the little instrumental tracks fit in well on the album. The vocals are also so beautiful.
Best track: either Andromeda or Wild Time
Worst track: Titanic Rising
JULY RECOMMENDATIONS #9: @2009HondaCivic
First time listening to Deftones, and the record is pretty nice. Im slowly getting into metal, so for now its a nice run of artists. This one features some incredible songs and production, and also... the infamous Pink Cellphone.
The production ranges from classic alternative rock to just metal screaming, and i honestly prefer the former, just cause the screaming kinda covers up some instrumentals a bit. The vocals are also pretty nice.

This record is quite good, and yet i wish it took more risks at some points. My main problem about these Shoegaze records is that they get real repetitive at the second half most of the time, but it still has enough interesting ideas.
The production is really great at some moments, especially at the ending parts of The Everchanging Spectrum of a Lie, but it starts repeating some ideas at some parts. The vocals are also pretty nice, but it was a bit of a shift ... read more
