Not a bad song, but it still sounds just like overcompressed thall incapable of expressing human thought or emotion. The section where they stopped playing djent and the song rested for a couple seconds was the best part about this track for me. At least I was somewhat entertained when I listened to it a couple times.
This track is better than "Rampage" and "Shanghai." Although, I don't care for Tom Barber's deathcore rapping, and that turntable scratching around the 1:20 mark was weird. The soft section with clean vocals was fine. Nothing super memorable about this track that will make me want to come back to it
1000 gecs is a much goofier album compared to 100 gecs sophomore album "10,000 gecs." Despite that, I believe this a good experience worth checking out. Something good about this project is the choruses on here. They are pretty catchy and fun to think about like the choruses on "stupid horse" and "ringtone." Also, even though they are my least favorite, the silly tracks are entertaining. "I Need Help Immediately" uses sound effects like you're sneaking up ... read more
When I saw this album cover, I knew I had to listen to this project. In some ways, I like this album more than "Desire, I Want To Turn Into You." The production throughout this project is outstanding, and Caroline's vocals are stunning and soft. My favorite electronic moments on this album would be when it's somewhat punchy like the title track or "Hit Me Where It Hurts." Also love the electronics on tracks where it feels like I'm floating in a river on "The Gate," ... read more
On "Dark Magic," nothing, nowhere delivers a bunch of emo rap songs that sound like they are inspired by 2000s rock. I will give nothing, nowhere props on actually having an identity on this album compared to "VOID ETERNAL" which he was constantly buried by features. Despite him being the star of the show, he doesn't deliver anything memorable or different to separate him from other rap pop artists. A lot of the melodic choruses sounded like they were stolen from early pop ... read more
While a few riffs and grooves were good, the fact that all the songs on here sounded the same and lacked interesting song structures, made me lose my attention constantly. Sadly, this ended up being a boring listen
I love it when the AOTY community goes crazy over a metalcore project especially when so many negative stereotypes are associated with the genre. This is a short EP that showcases some heavy riffs and breakdowns that grab your attention really well. It also features breakcore and screamo in order to put a twist on it and make it more different.
I listened to this EP in mid January and thought it was great. However, I was working on other reviews and haven't been able to get all my important ... read more
Not 100% sold on the high pitched clean chorus, but I'm glad that they didn't sacrifice the heavy instrumentals for it. Hopefully this song will flow better on the album
I still find the weird animal noises the vocalist does goofy. Instrumentals aren't anything new or memorable
This project features extremely high pitched, screech vocals that are fairly unique for the grindcore genre. Although, didn't love how overpowering they were in the mix over the instrumentals. Didn't provide much that was new that I can get from other artists. Also these song titles are insane.
Recommended to me by @DREscapePlan I recommend following them
If you ignore the lyrics and the fact that this type of pop metalcore song has been done before for the past 10 years, then maybe you'll enjoy this song
Powerviolence with SpongeBob SquarePants samples throughout the project, how can I not like this? Songs are pretty simple but it's not trying to be pretentious or provide a varied experience. Loved the feedback on the "oooh" theme sample.

Decided to check this out cause of the title and I really like this a lot. Reminds me a little of Heads Will Roll by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The electronics are greatly produced and the vocals are strong especially near the end of the track after the last chorus
From what I've heard from Enterprise Earth before, I haven't really found them to be interesting or even entertaining. With "Death: An Anthology," that wasn't the case and I had a mostly interesting and enjoyable experience this time around.
I think the best moments on this album are ones where they're doing unique stuff that isn't typical to modern deathcore with a lot of production use. I think my favorite track is probably "Casket of Rust." It is 7 minutes long and ... read more
This album isn't really doing anything new, as it is very meat and potatoes metalcore, but if that's your thing than you'll like this album. It's got some great riffs and breakdowns as well as some good features like "Mouth for War" and "Orthodox"
"SHAME" is a perfect title for this dementedly heavy album. Tracks are long but are made in a way where they grow exponentially throughout their runtime. Moments instrumentally on this LP sound like someone losing their mind which I love. One of the only critiques I have with the album has to be the vocals and how they're pretty standard.
Pretty straightforward cover, which might be a good decision even though I wish they did more to change it and make their own
