Motherf*ckers will call Kendrick Lamar mid and then listen to this and be like "OMG the rapping is so good"
I'm pretty sure a lot of users who read my reviews are aware that I am very critical of this genre of music. Which is why I don't think it's too far-fetched to say that if I like this then there's a strong chance that it's a great alternative metal album. So I will be sure to really analyze this album without any influences or distractions.

Finally... a good f*cking alternative metal album in 2025.
During the album cycle for ... read more
The debut album of Deftones, “Adrenaline,” is a standard alternative metal album that isn’t that memorable. The songwriting across the record is pretty simple with songs featuring easy to follow progressions, hooks, and payoffs that work as is but aren’t too distinctive from other rock/metal albums before its time.
I don’t think a band needs to reinvent the wheel, especially for alternative metal, but the execution definitely counts for leaving an impact.

I was more excited to listen to this album than Jane Remover’s debut album, since I heard a lot of people saying that this is a more ambitious album than "Frailty."
However, I ended up coming away from "Census Designated" and thinking "...that's it?"
Don't get me wrong, this album isn't bad, Jane has some good vocal performances on here, and it is indeed more of an ambitious album than “Frailty.” However, I don't think that ... read more
Tomb Mold’s “The Enduring Spirit” is an epic progressive death metal album that succeeds at making captivating moments for both subgenres of progressive metal and death metal. It has a lot of range to it while being very big in terms of technicality and how daunting it sounds. The album also pulls off these beautiful moments that mix and contrast with the harsh moments of the album really well. At times, those contrasts make this album feel like a cinematic battle is taking ... read more
I like how the lyrics of this single deal with someone wanting to stay in a journey because they're scared to get to their destination
An instrumental Death Grips album should be more fun and unhinged than this album is. Instead, the instrumental music pieces that make up the album are more repetitive and simpler than one would expect from a Death Grips album. As a result, “Fashion Week” lacks a lot of replay value to it, even though it has some good instrumental moments on it that are pleasant to hear.
System of a Down’s self-titled debut album is one of the most creatively abnormal metal albums ever released and, in terms of artistry, puts most alternative metal albums released in the 21st century to shame.
A lot of the vocal choruses, hooks, and refrains on the album are extremely catchy. I think it mainly comes down to the unique and animated vocal deliveries and inflections from main vocalist Serj Tankian, as well as the backing vocals from guitarist Daron Malakian and bassist ... read more
“Went for some Chinese food and the fortune cookie told me I was goated (loud gong noise).”
“HYPERYOUTH” is at least as fun and entertaining as Joey Valence & Brae’s last album, "NO HANDS." The beats on this album distinguish themselves from one another, and the samples of the album are fun to pick out like Easter eggs, and the lyrics are relatably cheeky that are pleasing rather than annoying to hear.
The duo seemed to have improved on making an ... read more
The album opener for Lorna Shore's 5th album is pretty unremarkable for the band with its over the top, slow paced breakdowns with the vocalist making as many weird noises as possible. The very uplifting symphony moment of the song sounds out of place and clashes with the aggressive moments of the track.
These vocals are garbage. If you really want to hear some aggressive rap vocals with loud electronics or instrumentals, then listen to Death Grips, System of a Down, or Rage Against the Machine instead.
"Brothers in Christ" sees Nerver and Chat Pile team up to create a split EP that is as unforgettably punishing as you want sludge metal and noise rock to be
If you listen to the first song on “METAL FORTH,” you’ll hear a great collaboration between BABYMETAL and Poppy that both mix together like bread and butter.
If you listen to the rest of the album, you won’t hear a collaboration that comes anywhere close to that.
I have heard BABYMETAL sound great when doing collaborations with other bands and artists. “Kingslayer” with Bring Me The Horizon is one of my favorite songs of the 2020s so when I found out ... read more
I could see some people hating this single because stylistically this isn't something people would want coming from a punk band like DRAIN. I think the band pull it off remarkably well though with nice vocals that aren't over doing it. I also believe the album will be more of a broad listen with it included.
Despite me not being a fan of this band, I found this to be a pretty tolerable single from Hail The Sun
Agriculture mainly focus on noise for this single and it's an enjoyably wild ride
A death metal album that is unlistenable in a bad way. The fact that Chris Barnes still continues to perform and record these vocals with Six Feet Under is unfathomable.
