The album did become kind of a snoozefest towards the back half, but the first half was really good. Kind of generic riffing, but i swear, amy’s voice sounds just as incredible as it did in 2003, and forever without you is proof of that. I love who will you follow a lot as well
Landmark death metal album, with bangers like hammer smashed face. It’s not perfect though, because songs like necropedophile aren’t that great and are even a bit disgusting
Extremely consistent album. While a lot of the songs in the middle where just really good, the first couple of tracks where actually incredible imo.
Great precursor to the downward spiral, with a lot more heaviness involved than pretty hate machine, though i still think they haven’t reached their peak just yet
Excellent debut, though it sometimes feels a bit soft compared to what they would become. That is a good way to introduce people to nin though. Also, head like a hole is my new anthem
In my opinion the strongest album in the quincy jones trilogy.
Michael really tried his best to make sure every album was better than the last, and it really shows. I don’t think there’s a single unmemorable song on this album. The main issue is i listened to this one so much that they’re aren’t as enjoyable to listen to, although they’re still as good as when i first heard them. And unlike some people would make you believe, this isn’t the end of ... read more
Now we have thriller, which is possibly the most iconic album of all time.
I mean, we litterally have thriller, beat it and billie jean back to back to back!
The rest of the album is incredibly consistent as well, with barely any wasted seconds.
This was also the album to really showcase how talented michael was, especially with the groundbreaking music videos. Masterpiece/10
Now that the michael movie is out (i’m watching it in 2 days!), i’ve decided to relisten to all mj’s main albums, starting with this one and ending with invincible.
To start of with, i don’t think there’s a single piece of poduction or instrumentation i take issue with. The album still sounds like something yesterday, thanks to quincy jones and michael.
Secondly, michael’s vocals hit that perfect balance between happy and cheerfull vs sad and ... read more
Great for the final album they made with layne, although it dosen’t have that same flavour dirt, jar of flies and facelift had
One of the greatest live albums of all time, and, in my opinion, the best unplugged live album of all time. I myself love nirvana’s unplugged, and it’s a close race for me, but this album works so well as aic’s final work with the incredible layne staley. You can really just hear how bad layne’s health had gotten at that point. Absolute masterpiece. R.I.P goat
My personal favorite video game soundtrack of all time. Minecraft comes close, but man, this one just goes so hard, with every song having so much charm and memories attached to it. I can’t even begin to describe how many times i’ve heard both the main theme and the iceberg lab theme. Maybe a 10000 times would be close. It is also my 2nd favorite game of all time
While i personally think this game is way overhated, the soundtrack is a thing that even the haters can’t dunk on. It is amazing, and a soundtrack i heard a lot a few years ago
Perhaps not the most complex metal album, but fuck is it just enjoyable. A couple of wasted minutes on that last track, but otherwise, this is a great record
Most likely an album i will like more and more for each relisten, but for a first listen, this was great. One issue i have with a lot of death metal is that it all sounds very similar, but that’s not an issue with this album as it sounds completely unique to most other death metal albums and bands. I also got tickets to their concert in aarhus this june for my birhtday, so i will definitely be listening to a lot of them.
It’s a good album, but it definitely leaves a lot to be desired
Just like minecraft is a perfect game (and probably my favorite of all time), this soundtrack fits so well into the peaceful atmostphere of the regular survival game. For a game i’ve probably spent 1300+ hours in, this soundtrack perfectly adds to the beauty of minecraft
Again, i’m not a big trash metal fan, but i think this album is elevated by being under 30 minutes. On top of that, it’s just really consistent
