Citando e trattando film e letteratura definita CVLT come tematiche ... read more
Truly one of the best rap albums of all time.
Set in Compton a young Kendrick Lamar describes his life and how he managed to "get out of Compton but not really".
With the first songs giving us a bit of a setting and a minimum of world building, Kendrick describes and talks to us about a love interest of his, of his group of friends and the activities he does with them, his family situation in general the harsh reality of Compton.
After a few more focused songs you can glimpse the ... read more
A cocoon ready to bloom, no need to adlib his name 100 times, you know it's kdot
His most mature album, really strong writing and amazing production on all fronts, he really has bottomless creativity
The perfect closure to his best era, ts has increbible quality
Not my favourite but surely this album for Tyler has allowed his transition into a great artist. you can notice a drastic change in Tyler's writing style making for a very serious emotional album but not leaving and getting rid of the playful Tyler's spark. First of many great albums
(I am a defender of this album)
It was a necessary media flop for tyler's musical growth, although i personally appreciate it a lot i find i can find faults with it, it is a very chaotic album in terms of musical styles.
i can still see some sort of order, its diversity, its message and the goal of somehow "FIND YOUR WINGS" really take it to the top for me. There are tracks that are truly among the peaks of this man's discography like 2SEATER, SMUCKERS or FUCKING YOUNG / ... read more
Really UNDERRATED, a great project, hits on some points in a very sentimental way and shows well his particular production at times edgy. Without a doubt the best of the trilogy, and on one hand detaching itself a lot from his sound and starting to show a more serious side of his person.
contributes to the story of the trilogy... but Tyler can definitely do better.
HERE COMES TYLER'S TURN
not much to say, a very premature album, where you can glimpse the greatness of tyler's creativity and incredible production, leaving aside the very questionable lyrics... defining himself as the illegitimate son of hip hop.
Ye's last good album... truly incredible.
This album totally filled with songs that range from gospel, rap, trap, drill, soul... there's something for everyone. This project on one hand seems endless as it manages to bring so much different material to the table. On the other hand it's also a flaw, as all the pt 2 and some cuts were NOT necessary, they would have streamlined the album considerably. Overall really nice though.
The production is incredible and even the verses are on-point, there is not a song on this album that manages to bring down the constant quality of the album, truly incredible. A truly enlightening and well-made album... I just wish it was longer. the way it hits you is literally like a speedin' bullet (CUDI REFERENCE???), leaving you wanting more, but it's amazing how much they've managed to accomplish in this amount of time, it's probably meant to be so fleeting.
Despite the "low" rating it's an album that I really enjoyed, often some tracks are unfortunately not performed to their full potential, the lyrical content often fails to keep the listeners entertained. However I have to say, that as usual Kanye West's production does not disappoint...
yet another album where ye finds himself explaining his controversial nature and fully expressing his bipolarity. Despite being short, it is truly a very consistent and diverse album in terms of styles and musicality, ITAKY is truly powerful and songs like Ghost Town will always remain etched in the collective memory of his fans. Given how little time has passed since this album and his recent statements, it seems incredible to me that it is the same person speaking, the same person who was ... read more
I feel like Pablo
prototype of how an album should sound in my opinion, amazing features and productions, everything is spectacular.
Yeezus is the definition of EXPERIMENTAL album, ye experiments with a very extreme and provocative side of his production and experimenting a lot with synths (you can hear the help in the production of mike dean). In this album Kanye fully expresses his controversial side with all his hot takes, cockiness and talking about society from a hip hop point of view, a great album way ahead of its time REALLY very influential.
An album where two of the biggest giants in the world of hip hop at the time collaborate on an album purely for entertainment, a really fun album
