Oh god
Besides this track containing this amazing blend of darkness and beauty, which I haven't heard Muse execute so potently since Absolution, the lyrics are not only not sound like they were written by a teenager, they are really imaginative, while being a commentary on current problems of algorithmic manipulations, governmental deceptions etc. basically how we all are rapidly rolling into 1984 scenario. Also unexpectedly introspective with "Our resistance is mass ... read more
Edit: Oh, God, it's my 100's review, I just realized after posting. Well this album, weirdly to me, is where my deep dive into music started haha! Please, enjoy the review!
That album got me into Muse back in 2018 and actually got me to go and attend their (probably) last live performance in Russia in 2019. I was 16 and enjoyed it a lot and, I think, subsequently it got me into alternative rock. I haven't heard it in a while and years after seeing the performance (which was ... read more
For most of my teenage and early adult years I felt like I was in a dream within a dream, having feelings at all was surreal in a heartbreaking kind of way. Throughout all of 8 years of that period I was making music, recording, singing and learning to make it all sound good. I glad I did, I now have something more exciting than a picture, or a video - emotions in their purity, something to come back to and feel through mistakes and lessons I had to learn.
Displaying it to the public in a ... read more
Listening to "Planisphere" feels like looking at amazing authentic Indian food being cooked in real time by a top notch chef. The EP is so filling, spicy and masterful combining the house music layering with rock and progressive type of songwriting. Done amazingly btw!
I'm so happy I found this EP, first because I just can't get myself into other Justice stuff, second I wanted something insanely danceble and fulfilling, but not Daft Punk. Well here it is, ... read more
Linkin Park be linkin' me to music ngl tbh
At first glance "A Thousand Suns" gave me an impression of a very mellow pop record, which might have slight conceptual direction, but actually is going to be dumbed down by thematic repetition of Linkin Parks's previously largly successful works, which would make for a dumpster fire of an album, an absolute snoozer🗿. You see it all over in the world of rock music, let's all agree on that.
BUT as I heard the way every ... read more
To me Muse is an utterly interesting phenomenon.
A perfect drug for a teenager (most likely playing guitar or a piano) or a very detailed blueprint for a mass appealing rock band. I'd even say there is a very in-your-face formula to them, that makes those type of people get sucked into them, let's see:
1. Excentric and charismatic frontman with a shit load of epatage beaming in the music and on the live shows/in the music videos (Tenor vocals ofc)
2. Instantly recognisable style ... read more
I liked these confident, mature, layered and straight up viby bangers so much I wrote a poem lol
Memorable lines in and out
I'm already tired of saying them out loud
Everyday since it's been brought about
It just lives in my head every waking hour
For what it is and the way it came out
Is a wow moment, I'm in absolute shock
And one of the things I'm trying to figure out
Is how 44 minutes to me is too short
I even got inspired
To write this corny poem
It's straight ... read more
When this came out my first impression was that it's just another generic pop record, that's quirky enough for people on this website to love it (yeah, that's my perception of you people!). So now that I bump this shit on everyday basis from front to back, I'm happy to say it's the opposite of uninspired!
Aesthetics are immaculate on this one. I see it as a fusion of electro pop and pop rock of their prime eras, in fact they are so apparent, it almost feels like an ... read more
"УВЫ" is an absolutely unexpectedly groovie indie pop-rock record with loads of boroque pop esthetics, fair bit of experimentation, unconventional structures, cool transitions within tracks, loads of very well fit together instruments and one of the best production works I've ever heard from the genre! (I even cried a bit, that's how surprising this record is)
Didn't expect it to be so damn good, thank you @unrealmikel for shouting it out
The Cure exists for me specifically.
Yes, you heard it right, it's my band now! Elaboration ahead, be aware. I'm a sucker for larger-than-life, ethereal and enveloping records like this, for example playing the opening track "Plainsong" off of "Disintegration" sent me flying through space and time faster than anything ever did. And what do you think? "Alone" did the same thing when it dropped! While "Disintegration" felt quite inconsistent to ... read more
Alright! Let's all thank King Gizzard for them existing in the music world and them randomly dropping unexpected masterpieces like this one.
They are taking from late-stage Radiohead and introducing symphonic elements to their music. It's a crazy rollercoaster, that drops insane dark undertones, lovely jazzy shuffles and those insane string arrangements flowing throughout the track.
God, I love G(J)izz <3
Introducing my latest release!
This is basically a warm slowburner and is mostly about accepting a certain relationship fading away. The creation process was a very good therapy amidst the probably worst emotions I'd ever felt in my life.
I tried to make it spacey, yet intimate and I'm glad to say, I'm very happy how it turned out, so I'd be happy aswel if you check it out))
I got very intrigued by the cover art and the track namings, they anticipating a musical equivalent of going down a rabbit hole or going deeper and deeper into the ocean with some lovecraftian fear of the unknown. So got through the album and not only wasn't disappointed, I loved it.
What I was weirded out by is the tone of this album. Expecting something a dark atmosphere I got a vibrant and bright journey. For example initially I thought the song "Underneath" would be a loud ... read more
This is literally how Julian Casablancas sounds to me on "Mean Girls":

If you love music, you probably know what comes with love for a certain artist and that thing actually brings a lot of excitement to any art form if you think about it. I'm talking about trust. As you go through a variaty of an artist's output, and keep enjoying the different stuff they do, you start noticing one essential thing that is similar. Character.
So, Joji has a lot of character, his style is diverse in his own way. This album shows how he's able to meet ambitions, ... read more
Nothing informative or profound in this review, just wanted to say how obsessed I am with this album. Julian's mannerisms and just playful charisma shines to an insane degree here.
I sometimes find myself singing in a weird Julian way "mY HeArT iS BroAKen froM My Dreeeeeams" and a ton of other lines off of this album, constantly catching an urge to relisten to the songs. It's been about a year and I'm still overwhelmingly excited to return to this album.

We all know Julian loves his autotune. And he loves improvising with it both with The Strokes and The Voids. Well, here you go. The entire album of Julian improvising with The Voids with autotune. "An enjoyable ass" is what I would like to call it.
A bunch of solos, electronics, drums slapped onto eachother with some structure, that obviously wasn't taken care of what's so ever. Enjoy! Well, Julian, if you want to release ass, all power to you, but it's not "Virtue ... read more
My song of the year for sure. An exploration of a certain relationship or rather a memory, which is relatable in a lot of ways. It's perfect in so many ways, I don't think there's any reason explain why it's so good.
I used to be that cheerleader btw, so it's like Porter Robinson is talking to me from the perspective of that someone, and it feels so comforting, considering I didn't have a chance to talk to that person through it all. It's like you want to ... read more
It's one of the weirdest presidents in music, where you listen to singles, get disappointed and angry, because you waited so much, listen to the record, when it gets released and end up loving those songs and actually loving the entire record aswell. I really did think it was going to be a flop.
To think about it, isn't it wild as hell mesh together post-hardcore, hyperpop, metalcore and loads of emo and alternative metal aesthetics of 00s and smack some worldbuilding and ... read more
