ABOUT:
JID's highly anticipated album has a lot to offer. The probably most talented artist in Dreamville convinced with impressively strong guest appearances in the last years and placed many well-known artists in the background.
4 years after his last own longplayer he now publishes his new record. At first listen you will notice a huge difference in quality between the two parts of the album. As if im running out of steam with time. The first half has a ridiculously high quality density ... read more
ABOUT:
Nas has done it again. The man is almost fifty and continues to deliver consistently. After last year's "Kings Disease 3" he knows how to convince with his latest longplayer. He never seems to forget how to rap. It is truly amazing to witness his continued remarkable vocal presence. Nas convincingly proves that he can keep up in the current rap scene. His lyrical skills and flow continue to be remarkably on point. He has a finely tuned sense for the beats that complement him ... read more
ABOUT:
I can definitely find something to like about the mixtape. Unfortunately, there is no recognizable progression from its predecessors. Halloween awakened a vibe in me that reminded me of early Cudi with some of the melodies. But altogether, besides the already mentioned song, only Shell as a single really sticks with me.

ABOUT:
Less than many albums before Her Loss is not a musical step in a particular direction or a bold new career arc, but a reflection on a certain type of collaboration that has always worked well for Drake throughout his career. And look, it works here, too.
And even if the collaboration, on which he raps twice as much as his co-artist, would have deserved a bit more balance, no Drake album in a long time could be listened through as smoothly and entertainingly as this one.

ABOUT:
Gibbs alone may be a formidable rapper, but his music actually reached exceptional level only when he worked with a single producer over the length of an entire album. Contrary to some expectations, this project on album length, however, goes not only masterfully across the board, it sounds despite isolated steps outside the comfort zone also amazingly consistent. On his fifth album, Gibbs presents himself as a composer who invites producers and rappers of all kinds to a fictitious ... read more
ABOUT:
This man has such a high output that it is almost impossible to keep up as a consumer. That at some point the quality suffers from it enormosly. The expected gloomy sound pulls through the whole mixtape although variance interspersed from time to time. The approach is really good but five songs less would have made it much more complete.
