Okay this impressed me a lot more than I was expecting. Some of the aesthetics may seem a little cliche for a crime-drama/ mystery TV show soundtrack, but the very eerie and at times disturbing vibes that Angelo Badalamenti inflicted onto us with this very dreamy, jazz-infused record is unlike anything of its kind I’ve ever heard before - and i’ve not even seen the show yet. The way that fusions of ambience and soft rock are also incorporated into some of the cuts like The ... read more

The extremely cinematic, sparsely atmospheric and grandiose of Beck’s magmum opus in most people’s eyes makes for an amazing blend of art rock aesthetics.

Sea Change really brought out the most vulnerable and detailed side of his songwriting, with tracks like Lost Cause and End Of The Day being quite stripped-back in terms of instrumentation, but still do include the slightly psychedelic soundscapes and background effects that we see throughout most of the album. Opinions were very split about the sophomore record from London-based indie rock outfit Bloc Party, but I still think all the factors we loved about Silent Alarm appear on here in some way, shape or form. Don’t let the gentler moments on cuts like Song For Clay and Uniform fool you, because despite all the eerie ambience and more polished ... read more

Some of you might know from my reviews just how big of a fan of Daft Punk I am. Since the age of seven, I've been dabbling into the work of French duo consisting of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, and everything fascinated me to degrees I've never been before, even after so many years. The sonic landscaped they could create, whether it be with their debut in 1997, or their very last record in 2013. But never did I think that now would be the time we finally see one of the most ... read more
