Kinda overrated, unfortunately. I was reading a review of this album by @MyNameIsLuca (Shout out to him) and it encouraged me to relisten to this album. Don't get me wrong, a 94 is still an amazing score, but this is NOT a top 100 album of all time and certainly not the best Kanye album. This album has fantastic highlights like Devil In A New Dress and Runaway, which feature some of the best moments of his entire discography. Conceptually, I think this is the most interesting Kanye album, ... read more
You know its gonna be a banger when Kanye and MIKE DEAN are on a song together. With that being said, Rick Ross has the best part
This album is essentially pop perfection and this song is easily one of the best off of it
Forgot to rate the singles for this album, this MIGHT be the best song off the album
My old review for this was lowkey trash lmao. I was relistening to some of this album and I realized "Damn, David Bowie is an absolute musical magician". The way he is able to set moods and tones for songs and albums is unlike most artists that has ever walked this planet. Take the iconic and universally beloved "Heroes". Sure it may not be the actual greatest song of all time, but there is something so magical about it. What is so great about this album though, is that it ... read more
Damn I wanna be one of those babies so bad
By the way this is easily top 3 Kendrick, maybe even his best song
Even though on relistening of some of the tracks I'm not quite as big of a lover of this album as I used to be, It's still amazing. The only reasons (In my opinion) that this album gets some of the hate it gets, is that firstly, peoples expectations for an artist like Kendrick are VERY high (look at the RYM and AOTY top 10 albums for reference). Secondly, a lot of people that consider themselves Kendrick fans, dont have much taste for pop rap as well as trap. Not to imply they HATE ... read more
Wanna start off this review by saying the first 3 song run on this album is probably the greatest three song run ever. Now for the rest of the album, absolutely magical. There aren't many other ways I can honestly describe listening to this album other than that, there is a reason that for the instrumental parts of the first 2 songs, the genius captions only read "this is god’s work". Outside of the soundscape of this album being, as I said, magical, the lyrics are ... read more
For no reason in particular, I wanted to write a special and extended review dedicated to one of my favorite pieces of not just music, but art. "Deathconsciousness" is an album that has become incredibly important to me ever since I gave it a first listen back in September. This, Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven and Soundtracks For The Blind are my favorite albums of all time, and for two completely different reasons. I might write a long review for it in the future ... read more
Holy shit why is this album so good, expect a 100 for The Glow, Pt. 2 once I fully listen to and write my review for it.
ew, hope the guy who made this song has slow enough internet to where it doesn't turn off, but it takes 30 minutes to open a tab on google
FREE PALESTINE 🍉 I'm not gonna go too in depth as to what is happening over there, as there are other reviews on this album made by people much more well-versed on the subject than I am that actually discuss the atrocities happening over there. Anyways, GY!BE is a fucking fantastic band. Not only are few bands even able to replicate the emotions felt in music like this, but little to none can say they do it without the need for vocals or written lyrics. BABYS IN A THUNDERCLOUD is easily ... read more
hinter listens to a post-rock album and likes it, no one is shocked. I've been meaning to listen to some more GY!BE ever since I first heard Lift Your Skinny Fists, especially since that is literally my favorite album ever. Sure, it's not as emotional or impressive as Lift Your Skinny Fists, but that is quite the demanding comparison anyways. The sample choices also add to the album as well "I open up my wallet and it's full of blood" is cold asf. Everything about this ... read more
Man, fuck the critics, especially Rolling Stone. Yes, I will be giving Pink Floyd 3 "100" scores, they deserve it. Seriously though these guys are awesome, even Meddle (which I only gave a 92) has Echoes on it, which is one of the best songs ever made. I don't think it has quite the high points of Dark Side Of The Moon or Wish You Were Here, but even then, there is so much quality on this album that it still deserves a 100 (especially Dogs, yet another contender for one of the ... read more
1 of 2 songs I consider to be masterpieces off The Dark Side of the Moon (If you were wondering, yes, the other is Time, how could one not love that song?) love the explosive instrumentation alongside the occasional nice melody you can catch throughout it, and the lyrics also highlight the horrors of war.
Thanks to everyone for 150 followers! Man, this album really does deserve the praise it gets, everything just works, I understand why so many people compare listening to Pink Floyd to being on drugs, it's magical in a way. Even past the sound of the album, the writing and the themes are also great, and ambitious for the time. The lyrics on this album just make you want to appreciate and truly live your life to the fullest. Also, Time is an absolute masterpiece of a song, maybe not quite ... read more
If this album was just the first 5 songs, I would say that it is a solid but not all that notable handful of songs. However Echoes is undoubtedly one of the greatest pieces of music ever, and raises this album up A LOT. Yea, this is pretty much a review of Echoes not to condemn the other songs on the album, but they aren't too memorable. Echoes is almost like an early form of Godspeed You! Black Emperor or Swans, 2 of my favorite bands of all time (I'm basically guaranteed to like ... read more
