Thanks @MyNameIsLuca for the recommendation. I love how laid back the production is, I've always had a special place in my heart for jazz rap. Considering that J Dilla produced most of this album, and he seems to be quite the beloved artist himself, maybe I should check out his stuff some. This album also has great writing and storytelling from Common. I feel as if Common doesn't get near as much the appreciation he deserves in the rap game, he deserves way more discussion, because I ... read more
Love to see Tyler leaning into experimental rap on this new single, this album gonna be peak
Although I don't quite believe it to be his best project, Faces is still a fantastic mixtape. I've obviously shown myself to be quite a big fan of Mac Miller, he was introduced to me through one of my friends and ever since then I have come to greatly appreciate the music he has made. This contains some of his best songs of his entire career including Diablo and Rain, however the thing holding it back slightly for me is that there are a decent handful of low points on the album, at ... read more
What if instead of Michael Jackson he was called Michael Freakson and absolutely nothing changed about him. Thriller is not only the most important piece of music by Michael Jackson, but one of the most important pieces of music in general. Thriller and Michael Jackson in general have inspired not just pop artists, but artists from all backgrounds and of all genres to make music. Now that I've gotten the obvious out of the way, I can talk about the music. Thriller - Billie Jean is possibly ... read more
Kind of an underrated song tbh, probably has my favorite melody on the whole album.
I'm really sorry it took me so long to review and rate this album but here we are. Overall this album is just simply put, impressive, on so many different levels. The best example of this impressiveness is definitely on the opening track with these loud horns and her absolutely outstanding lyricism. It's also just nice to listen to at times, especially with songs like Woman. Also, before ending this review, wanted to mention that I almost cried at the last track, fantastic album,

This album to me is just simply nice to listen to, Frank Ocean is an amazing vocalist, who displays his vocal talents and range very well, especially on tracks like Seigfried. I also love the lyrics of a lot of these songs such as on Nights or on White Ferrari, its like the songs are being written from someone who wants to reach "Nirvana" usually by trying to find true love. I'm glad to be coming back to this album as this was an album that helped expand my music taste outside of ... read more
So my old review for this album wasn't all that good, and I don't think I really did this album justice in it. If it wasn't for Madvillainy this would be the greatest collab album of all time, and it possibly is the greatest "rapper + rapper" collab of all time. This album mainly explores topics of recovering ones self and being "reborn" after going through hard times. Fantano was right about this album, despite being not even 25 minutes long and having a ... read more
Remember how I said Swans makes grand and emotionally captivating music? This is its final form. This might be the best album I ever heard, Everything just connects and feels incredibly psychadelic and transcendent, It goes beyond what you think music can do. Swans combines everything they have ever done for music and puts all into one out of world experience. I want to go on a small rant about this albums title track because OH MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT. That song is the most insanely ... read more
I will get back to reviewing Swans trilogy, but why the hell is this album only at an 88??? This album is influential on so many different levels, possibly the most influential and groundbreaking album of all time. Even ignoring the albums influence the music of this album is seriously impressive. The top review for this album sums it up pretty well, I don't think I have anything more to say just kinda confuses me why this album isn't more loved on this website.
