The Jungle Giants - Quiet Ferocity
84

Quirky and enjoyable, with a myriad of catchy tunes

Joji - Nectar
84

Comfortably Joji's best release to date - there are some stellar tracks surrounded by decent yet forgettable filler tracks.

Joji - BALLADS 1
69

Good but not great - the second half of the album lets it down.

Japanese Breakfast - Jubilee
88

There's a reason it topped so many end-of-year lists - give it a listen and enjoy every second of it.

Jamie T - Panic Prevention
79

Jamie T = Good.

Fingers crossed for a return in the near future.

James Supercave - Better Strange
91

A magical experience from beginning to end, with each listen you find yourself enjoying yourself more and more. Its biggest strengths lie in its unique sound, which helps almost every single track on the album engrain itself in your memory - you'll find yourself humming various choruses from this album without even realising you're doing so! The lyrics, often dark and pessimistic as the group write about the modern world - particularly how society operates in the capitalist world - engage you ... read more

Jadu Heart - Hyper Romance
82

Burns out a little towards the middle, but certainly includes songs you will want to return to. 'Another Life' and particularly 'Burning Hour' are favourites of mine.

Islet - Eyelet
74

Reasonably solid, with some good tracks included

ISLAND - Feels Like Air
70

Won't blow you away, but is a pretty enjoyable album to stick on

Hobo Johnson - The Fall of Hobo Johnson
68

This was Hobo's peak - his debut was ok, and everything after this has been an unmitigated assault of laziness and disappointment. At least this album is somewhat enjoyable if you enjoy more abstract approaches to music.

Good Kid - Good Kid
78

Pure fun - every track is full of energy and really drives forward. My only criticism is that a lot of the songs sound very similar, but with it being a short release that isn't too much of a worry. Definitely worth checking out.

The Gentle Men - The Evolution of Tears
78

Given the state of many 'YouTube Musician' releases - Charlie and Troy have managed to craft a comedy-rock album that is not only funny but genuinely sounds good too. It's far from being perfect, but the musicianship that Troy brings coupled with Charlie's sense of humour combine into a release that I keep returning to from time to time. The comedy may be a bit childish at times but if you are in the right mood the album is a blast. It also contains some absolutely brilliant lines in many of ... read more

Gengahr - Sanctuary
76

Some great songs, some more forgettable filler tracks. It won't blow you away, but it's a pleasant listen and a decent addition to Gengahr's repetoire

Future Islands - Singles
89

Hypnotic vocals and great bass lines - opens and closes with brilliant tracks

French 79 - Joshua
82

Hometown is impeccable

92

Fun, energetic, and wild

flipturn - Citrona
90

Give it a listen, it is worth the time

Fever the Ghost - Crab In Honey
NR

'Source' carries the album - with the rest being forgettable or even unenjoyable
