neffex was one of the artists that I listened to as a prepubescent child… ever since I started exploring music in 2022 my taste has shifted significantly. it’s nostalgic now but im ashamed at the same time for liking this before
neo-psychedelic music is probably one of my favorite genres, so it’s no surprise I liked this. some complaints were that the interludes weren’t that well executed and some tracks could have been left off. enjoyed everything else heavily. thought yachty’s voice was a little off putting at first but got used to it really quickly
out of the last 3 jack singles, this one's the worst. appreciate the energy they brought but unfortunately they brought nothing else.
ughhh i really wanted to like this project more than i had, but the quality wavers too much from track to track. maybe also because the highs on this album have spoiled me into expecting too much. i just can't find myself enjoying the project in an entire, uninterrupted listen. still quality, but i'm not coming back for the entire project, just the standouts
cool song. why does the intro sound like the four-count pharrell beat though
uhh... that was probably my album of the year so far
parannoul comes out with a banger experimental noise rock record that veers away from their typical, shoegazey esque sound that they've embodied throughout their musical journey. wish it was on spotify though.
Interscope really trying to compete with EA Games for greediest corporation

Really hope that he drops something better next time...

alpha's more nostalgic but beta's on another level. there's not much for me to say what has already been said by others. the highs are higher here, the tracklist is more consistant despite its 2 hour length. so much worldbuilding takes place within the music alone, and playing the game makes it that much more immersive. [still have to listen to last 6 tracks]
the new ichiko project uses a fascinating blend of instrumentation which are not too derivative of any of her past works in any way. In sorts, it shows a parting of ways with her frequented usage of guitar indie-folk elements that I've loved in 0, and even throughout windswept adan. although experimentation usually pans out with a mix of hits and misses, i feel like ichiko, for the most part, sticks the landing. even after a week i still haven't been able to give this a full, ... read more
