mind numbing stuff
indie folk is a crazy genre for ajr to dabble into. considering how extremalist and overproduced ajr's other stuff was, this was a very welcome change of pace. their most mature project to date, but has some irks and quirks that panned out in varying levels of success.
repetitive monotony reverbrated across some of most agonizingly boring thirty eight minutes i have had to sit through. thankfully that's the full extent of this album's potential: nothing better, nothing worse.
after careful consideration I am leaving a zero on this record to bring down gunna’s artist score into a 49/100. I will remove this once gunna reaches the elusive red artist score
some good ideas and flows but it was way too messy. k-word sounded like 5 scrapped songs that were hastily put together. for keeps could've used the same ideas on 2009 and recycled the instrumentals for a better song. of blue had an amazing second half that was tarnished by the first. stuff like that.
everyone interprets albums differently. agree to disagree. but there are so many obnoxious fans and haters.
anyways i think this album's amazing. aoty 2025 and was really one of the most immersive works i've listened to in a while. even the ambient interlude played nicely into the context of the album. the more experimentally loaded back half served as a nice contrast to the more baroquesque front half
first mistake: collabing with central cee
second mistake: dropping this on the same day as quadeca and freddie gibbs
