ian - Oh Ok (xxl freestyle)

this entire overview is an ian violation (cover art, genres, writers???). well deserved though because it was putrid horseshit

Alex Warren - Ordinary

my head hurt right now this song doesnt help

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS

tyler flexes his production chops during this record, holding some of his most high energy performances on this record. But what really made this record were the last 6 track run, which were amazing.

Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist - Alfredo

why does alfredo 2 have a ramen bowl as the album cover πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ does freddie and alchemist know that it shouldnt be called alfredo 2 if the cover is ramen πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ stupid lol

Various Artists - KPop Demon Hunters (Soundtrack From The Netflix Film)

overall it sounds fine but i genuinely cannot find the appeal for this kind of music so much so that it climbs this high on the charts. it sounds like americanized kpop that tries to be very inoffensive. as a soundtrack though, it's nice i guess. haven't watched it at all, maybe it plays better into the movie, idk.

Hentai Dude - OWO What's This?

mister steve flash juon, you rated this album, which is completely laced with unsettling, endearing, pedophilic lyrics, the same score as 'ye' by kanye west (not ye), an album that takes a vulnurable and personal glimpse into a bi-polar man's self-reflection on fame and the unfortunate circumstances surrounding him. even though your review is almost two years old at this point, i highly encourage you to do a redux review knowing that your latter interpretation of this interesting ... read more

im split honestly. i didn't like the chorus that much because it sounded murky but the progression and lyrics were pretty endearing

JID - DiCaprio 2

this has got to be one of the most ridiculously front loaded albums ever. not that the second half is terrible by any merit, just that the first half has all the highlights. production and lyricism and delivery on the front completely wash the back. although hasta luego is pretty fire.

JID - The Never Story

its pretty good. second half is a little stale on both the lyrical and production ends but really does a great job showcasing jid's potential as a rapper (and singer!)

JACKBOYS - JACKBOYS 2

cant believe travis got dissed so hard he made his worst music in 12 years

Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out

Clipse is living proof that just because your favorite artists are getting old doesn't mean they still can't make good music, they're just choosing not to.

Sixteen years after their last commercial effort, 'Til the Casket Drops', the duo consisting of Pusha T and Malice drop what might be the most highly anticipated album this year. And after such a long hiatus, people would expect it to be below average, mediocre at best.

That's why when 'Ace ... read more

either the sound engineers are three year olds without parental controls or eminem’s verse is ai. i listened to a cleaner version where 2024 eminem ai was used and it sounded a lot better. song sucks, but there’s so much potential in it it’s sickening

Ethel Cain - Fuck Me Eyes

woah another amazing single from ethel cain

On peachxoxopeach's review of Magdalena Bay - Second Sleep / Star Eyes
"@peachxoxo I could see that. but at the same time, like, it’s very hard to be original. people before you have already talked about all the things you wanted to talk about, so what else are you supposed to really say about the music without coming off as pretentious. not much, really."

On Yellowslotcar's review of Mount Eerie - A Crow Looked at Me
"@Yellowslotcar huge respect for putting your opinion out. i do agree with many points you make about this work but i see this made not only for therapeutic relief for phil, but to also to help others that are overcoming death (which, of course, is the primary reason for it's critical acclaim and widespread praise. kind of similar to what ofelectricheat said). not to generate revenue. he's been making music ever since like the late 90's, so profit was probably (hopefully) not an incentive for him while releasing this to the world."

On JC99's review of Madvillain - Madvillainy
"as an abstract hip hop album, there really is no narrative. it's a snapshot of many different ideas into an amalgation of an album. there is no definitive or unifying factor that ties this album together. as for the lyricism, i'm not sure if you paid attention to the whole thing. sure, some songs touch upon common ground for many topics adjacent to many other hip hop records. i'll give you that. but saying that the wordplay and lyricism is average? come on. if you search up any video highlighting all his rhyme schemes on any song, you would see how insane they really are. plus there are so many witty one-liners i admire that you formed ur own opinion tho. it took me a full year of listening to this thing on and off to fully get it"
