sounds like a iyrtitl without the top notch lyricism and more of the r&b vibe sss4u had. overall, pretty good. not anything immensely special but its a great change of pace for drake
oh. maybe that's why they're in the preluxe.
the main issue with this preluxe is not so much the raw talent on display, but overall the lack of cohesion and direction. even other, high quality mixtapes have some sort of cohesion, whether that be the atmosphere, pacing, or themes. this checks off none of these boxes. i left feeling have gained nothing. i still have high hopes for the album, though.
definitely draws a ton of inspiration from carly rae, probably a lot more but im not well versed in 2010s pop honestly
fine. it isn't completely horrible, but seeing as it is made by AI... its pretty horrible
This album's vocals outshine the vast majority of music i've ever heard, and is quite literally one of the closest things one can get to being 'perfect' (stfu rolling stone). so passionate, rich, and avant-garde. If I didn't know it came out in 1994, nobody can convince me that that it came out 31 years ago. The bonus track adds another 10 points to the already almost-perfect score I would've given it.
dopamine is an incredibly fitting title for this album, it's almost like ear candy. except sometimes the sweetness overwhelms and numbs your ear buds a little from the monotony of the autotune. but still embodies how summer would probably sound like
only listened to the front half though
should I carve out two hours out of my day to listen to this project? heard it’s (arguably) her best work and I genuinely enjoyed the first 3 tracks + the 10 min version of all too well…
