As a decently new fan of Alex G this album was my introduction. It’s now been about a year and this project has grown to one of my favs in the genre. I like it could’ve used some cut down at certain parts but the bangers bang for sure. Alex G has never been an amazing vocalist to me but it’s his writing and soundscape that I like.
I love Smino. He’s one of my favourite artists right now. His rap verses are amazing and lyrically dense and his R&B cuts are smooth and truly the definition of a vibe. This album has a few lows and a lot of highs. I’m so excited for whatever project smino drops next and I have to recommend this to everyone. You could’ve never heard of Smino in your life and you’ll like this. A super fun listening experience and so many takeaway tracks.
This album has grown on me a lot. Off the first listen when it came out I was really disappointed and didn’t really revisit it for a while. But I wanted to look at a 2023 rap project and I had been listening to Leave The Club, a single off the album, for a fair bit. I went in expecting mediocrity but got a pretty good album experience. It lacks variety in the track list but there’s only 1 song I’d consider bad. The rest are either tolerable or really good. The second half of ... read more
I’m a yeat supporter fs, early in his career I loved how creative he was and with his new drops he continues to grow. This is a rare example of a pretty simple drop for yeat. There are a handful of great songs and a lot of filler. Yeat got his own thing going on and I’m here for it, if there’s not 20 songs on an album.
For a movie soundtrack it’s really good. A lot of the album has grown on me overall since the drop but there’s still some dull moments. Annhilate, Hummingbird and Givin Up are geniune bangers and the rest are a solid mix of mediocre to good songs. It is a movie soundtrack though so it’s not amazing.
Awesome project. Bill Evans is a genius composer and no one talks about this album enough. One of the pinnacles of live jazz for me and a big recommend to anyone, regardless of taste you’ll enjoy this.
Seems like a lot of outtakes from Astroworld and some songs that could’ve fit on Heaven and Hell a year later. Had Enough, What To Do and Gatti are pretty good songs and the rest of the album is just ok. Not great not bad, ok. Worth a listen if you’re a fan of Travis and there’s a few gems in this short project.
Lil Yachty honestly flipped a switch in 2020, I find it hard to stand his earlier work, out of all of them this is the most pallet able. I like a lot of Yachtys new stuff and I think he’s a great artist currently. But the fact this was ever celebrated is crazy to me. Didn’t get the hype then and I still don’t get it now. Some ok hooks and a couple fun songs.
It’s pretty ok. Doesn’t compare to Aeroplane Over The Sea but for Psych Rock Pop it’s pretty good. The introduction of some techniques they built on later on and then some misses that could use a little more touch.
I don’t think it’s bad, I enjoyed the album, but there was maybe one or two songs I’d come back to and the rest blend in with every other drill song out there rn. Forgetful album with a couple good songs.
I spent a week on this, worst week of my life. HOW YOU GON HAVE A WHOLE ATLANTA PROJECT WITHOUT, JID, 21 Savage, and motherfucking Future. I hate this album with my whole heart, like 4 good songs out of 36. Lucky that sometimes this album isn’t terrible it’s just mediocre.
I’m gonna be honest this was my introduction to denzel. On the release date in 2022 I said fuck it, everyone’s talking about this guy, I’ll give it a listen. I really liked it but then going into the rest of his catalogue it was all so different. Melt My Eyez See Your Future is the most accessible Denzel album in my opinion and honestly, its his best, the listening experience comes full circle and explores a lot of great themes and there’s very few dull moments on the ... read more
I don’t think by any means this is as perfect as some people claim it to be. Little too much talk about semen for me, but it is an incredible album that I found myself drawn towards. I like folk, I like rock, I like indie, I think that’s all blended very well here. The run time is concise and tells a story and the downfall of this project is simply how some tracks are experimenting with stuff they maybe shouldn’t be.
The only thing I could’ve wished for is more, Micheal Jackson someone made 3 more than perfect songs and threw them on an album already great. This is the epitome of 80s Pop and there will never be another legend like MJ. The energy of PYT or Baby Be Mine. The Soultryness and soul in Lady in My Life, the storytelling of Thriller and Billie Jean. This album is great for a reason but my appreciation of it goes up constantly.
Always been a bigger fan of Autumn out of the Duo but summrs has still been consistent with his drops and every project gives a couple hits and then some filler. As an EP not great but Just Can’t and Out Da Window are cool.
I love Bruno Mars, I think he’s extremely talented and he makes some songs I personally love. But this is the first time I can say he’s made something amazing. They deserve that grammy sweep because this album is short of flawless. There’s no bad songs just not enough amazing songs for it to be higher. Anderson Paak does his thing all over this project, as does the influence from Thundercat and bootsy collin’s, and like I said Bruno Mars is so talented. This is the best ... read more
TV Girl makes the most infectious indie pop in the genre currently. Going back to this album and listening through it was so fun. Come When You Call falters a little but that’s the only bad song I can say is on this project. The lyrics, as with all TV Girl albums, are questionable but I can only hope they’re steeped in satire as I enjoy this lush, fun, dreamy project that is one of my favourite indie pop records of all time.
OVERHATED. A good Lil Yachty Album, not something I can say about many other yachty projects. There’s bangers scattered throughout the list and thought Yachty gets maybe a little too much time on the mic with some pretty silly beats. I don’t hate it. What brings it down is the fact that at the end of the day it’s Lil Yachty, he’s not phenomenal but he’s solid. I personally like this project and overall I think it’s decent to good.
I can’t lie, for a drill project this is pretty good, but the second half of the album doesn’t do it for me, Kay Flock got a lot of energy but his lyrics are nothing crazy. Still a tuff drill rapper just not my type of project.
This track list was the death of me, it confuses me why he would do this. There are some amazing songs on here, and then there’s just filler, and then there’s shit. That’s like the average album experience. BUT 2 HOURS OF IT. Nuh uh man. I’ll take a 20 minute project like Ye, over Donda anyday.
