Results do not vary, this album is pretty fucking shit through and through….

Against All Logic - 2012 - 2017

Wowowow. This thing was such a grower. Every time I’ve listened to this thing again I’m always finding new things to love. I love how unique Nicolas Jaar’s approach to sound is. A lot of the cuts go so hard but are really minimal. The bass/synth lines are magnificent and the gospel samples fit so well with the sound he’s going for. My only gripe is a few of the deep cuts I’m lukewarm on but even then, they’re pretty solid songs.

Hulk Hogan - Hulk Rules

Great listen for irony’s sake. Other than that, this is a BIG OL PILE of steaming sonic garbage. It speaks volumes that this thing isn’t on any streaming services. Thanks Hulk, you made the perfect album for me to put on to make my coworkers believe I zero taste and hate my girlfriend.

Daft Punk - Discovery
100

Yup. One of my few perfect albums. Seriously, there is nothing you can add or take away from this thing that will make it more or less perfect than it already is. And it’s funny because initially I was so lukewarm on it. One More Time was never my thing so upon returning I avoided it. But one fateful night, my brother put on Superheroes and from there, I was hooked. The hypnotic, brightly polished production and sampling was truly amazing. Every other song kind of fell into place. Daft Punk - Homework
92

Crazy how fucking solid this debut is. Other than a few interlude tracks I’d skip, every song on here kicks serious ass. They are so repetitive and ear wormy in the best way possible. My favorite cuts off of here are the aggresive ones in the latter half (Rollin’ and Scratchin’, Burnin’, Rock’n Roll), but the hits are also some of Daft Punks most catchy and memorable tunes. And l love Alive, think it’s a perfect closer (Funk Ad doesn’t count although it ... read more

Run The Jewels - Run The Jewels 2

El-P and Killer Mike deliver explosive song after song on this thing. Maybe one of the most polished produced hip hop record I’ve heard of the 2010s. Amazing songwriting and performances.

Sweet Trip - Velocity : Design : Comfort.
92

This is an absolutely incredible electronic album. Probably one of the best I’ve ever heard. The production on this thing is so lush, I get immersed into every texture. Love how varied this album sounds. The opener is a glitchy, futuristic sounding track that sets the tone for the album perfectly, while also being a very distinct track on the album. But seriously, check this thing out. It has some breathtaking moments.

Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R
90

Improvement on all fronts from their debut. This thing is so fucking good. Queens establishes their sound that they’d be known for later on. This thing has amazing grooves, interesting song structures (I think I lost my headache is amazing), love Homme’s and Oliveri’s vocals. Rated R is definitely one of Queens’ finest moments

Pretty fuckin solid debut. Queens already had some of the best musicians in the desert scene and some of the quirkiest riffs and rhythms. Josh and company deliver a catchy, crunchy set of tunes that still hold up to this day. This is the most Kyuss sounding record of the bunch.

Alice in Chains - Sap
75

Solid EP but I have to admit, it definitely hides in the shadows of their other works. Still some solid cuts. Love the Chris Cornell feature.

Alice in Chains - Facelift
85

Solid debut from the legendary Alice In Chains. Layne established his vocal prowess right out of the gate. Some of my fav AIC cuts are on this thing. Love what these guys were doing here.

Dirty dirty guitar tone, killer vocals from Layne fuckin Staley, amazing bass and drum grooves… this thing has it all. If Nirvana was Punk to the Grunge scene, AIC was metal. This thing is so raw and has some haunting lyrics. The band is locked in at this point.

Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies
95

Dare I say that this is the best EP of all time? Yes, yes I fucking do. Every song is AIC at their absolute peak in terms of emotion and performances. Every song is amazing and I still cannot believe this wasn’t released as a full LP. It certainly has the quality to contend as one. Miss you Layne.

JID - The Forever Story
90

JID’s songwriting is truly unbelievable on this record. Every track fits perfectly. The features are explosive at times and heart wrenching at others. Love all of the themes about family on here. 2007 is the perfect way to end this thing. Every time the final beat switch kicks in I get goosebumps.

Black Sabbath - Sabotage
88

It’s amazing how consistently great Sabbath’s first 6 albums were. This one being my least favorite of the bunch doesn’t even really matter because it’s still so damn amazing. Symptom Of The Universe is like a proto thrash song, love the jazzy groove that book ends the track. Ozzy’s vocals have never been more on fire than on this one.

94

Love this one a lot. The title tracks breakdown is one of Sabbath’s most punishing. A National Acrobat is such an amazing song. Love all the weird experimental moments on this record. Chasing ghosts through castle hallways must draw some damn great inspiration.

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath Vol. 4
96

Love Vol. 4 so much. Second favorite Sabbath album. I can only imagine the amount of cocaine that was done while making this one. Wheels Of Confusion is one of the most underrated Sabbath songs. Both ballads on this thing are some of my favorites from Sabbath.

Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
100

Yup, this is it. My favorite Sabbath record. Sweet Leaf is probably my favorite opener to any album ever. It’s so damn heavy and basically birthed doom metal. The grooves, song writing, performances from the gang are all peak in my opinion. Into the Void is earth shaking.

Black Sabbath - Paranoid
90

Not my favorite from Sabbath, but still has some timeless stuff here. Don’t think I can ever enjoy Iron Man or Paranoid anymore, but everything else kicks ass. Planet Caravan to this day is so other worldly in its sound.

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
95

The birth of it all. Was a slow burner for me but damn now that I’ve given this album some time, it grew on me so damn much. Has some of my favorite grooves out of all of Sabbath’s catalogue. Ozzy sounds way darker here also. Must listen.
