Great example of how pop music can be interesting and fun without having to be too safe and have all the overused pop tropes. It's not genre-defining or genre-bending, but it's an excellent display of great pop music if you just get all the fundamentals right. A good improvement over his debut album.
1. Unacceptable: 65/100 Chorus sounds like Roddy
2. So With That: 65/100 Better instrumental, but the lyrics are super corny
big sean feature is mid. the drums are basic af. but the chorus does hit hard
The fact that this album was only 43 minutes but it just felt so damn long and most of the tracks are so forgettable is why this score is very appropriate. New To You was pretty decent tho. Oh and wtf was Busta Rhymes doing on that song πππ
Best tracks: New To You
Worst tracks: Ready Or Not
great album but I just prefer Nurture a lot more
Best tracks: Divinity, Sad Machine
Worst tracks: Flicker

Honestly, I prefer Evermore. It's less memorable than Folklore, but it's the more consistent listen and better structured album. Though Folklore does have more standout songs that I like.
Edit: folklore has aged slightly better than evermore
Swamp Bitches (feat. Rico Nasty): 85
Bitch I’m Nice: 75
Bitches Be (feat. Jst Ray): 80
This Bitch Matters: 80
Persuasive (feat. SZA) : 85
The album cover keeps making me think this is an electronic album.
Elena's debut album shows her combining minimalistic production with her signature somber vocals and melodramatic songwriting which makes for a fantastic singer-songwriter/dream pop fusion.
