Lonerism is a massive improvement on Innerspeaker. To me, this feels less like a Beatles wannabe and more of the band showing off what they can do, and it is amazing. Everything from the beautiful production to the incredible instrumentals is nothing short of great and really shows what Kevin Parker is capable of.
To be honest, it kind of annoys me that Innerspeaker was their debut after hearing this. Lonerism really should have been their first album - it shows off much more of what they can ... read more
When I started Innerspeaker, I was certain I had stumbled upon something amazing. The sound just grabbed me instantly. And although it was obvious that they were just emulating the sound of older bands like The Beatles, I didn't really care. It just sounded so good to me.
But then the third track started, and I could see instantly where it was going. It was just the same sound over and over again. The exact same song played for 53 minutes. 11 tracks that I can't differentiate. As soon as I ... read more
Reign In Blood is easily Slayer's best album. The instrumentals (which I've already expressed my love for in their previous albums) are by far at their best here. Also, Tom Araya's vocals here are much better than in their previous albums (honestly, I don't know if that's just me finally getting used to his voice).
However, my main complain - and the thing preventing this from getting a higher score than this - is that the album did drag for a bit in the latter half. Namely 'Reborn' and ... read more
Edit: Okay, I want to start this off by saying that I really shouldn't have written a review for this last night. I was absolutely disgusted, appalled and really pissed off when I saw that there were well over 1000 reviews, and it didn't help that so many of the stans were insulting members of this community and accusing them of racism. And although I stand by my opinion of not listening to anything that bots have invaded, I decided that considering that this was the one thing that actually got ... read more
Hell Awaits is somehow a major improvement on Show No Mercy, and that album was already a really good record. I'm actually surprised that the instrumentals are much better here, considering I also loved them on their debut. And whilst I still don't really care for Tom Araya's vocals too much, I do think they are much better here.
But goddamn the instrumentals. The guitar work on songs like Hardening Of The Arteries and Praise Of Death are immensely good and actually left me ... read more
Show No Mercy is a great debut for Slayer, but it's far from the best thrash metal album out there, and it's definitely not the best record in their long discography.
The thing that really makes me love this album is definitely the instrumentals. The phenomenal guitar work and the masterful drumming seriously made me fall in love with some of these songs. However, the thing that I don't really care about is Tom Araya's vocals. I've never cared about them. They aren't necessarily bad - they ... read more
A Ghetto Christmas Carol is boring for the most part and really not that good. I think at this point, having put up with all of the shit I’ve heard from X, that anything that doesn’t sound garbage deserves anything more than a 50. So if I ever come back to this, the score might change, but I really doubt that’s going to happen.
Favourite Tracks: Indecision; A GHETTO CHRISTMAS CAROL; UP LIKE AN INSOMNIAC (Freestyle)
Least Favourite Track: Red Light!
Snow was actually a great song. The other two are... not so great to say the least. The EP is overall enjoyable, though (or at least it is when compared with the rest of X’s discography).

Holy shit, this is actually good. I geniuinely didn’t expect to like anything else from this guy other than Revenge (I don’t even know what I was thinking when I pressed play on the EP with mainly songs from that mixtape, OK? I honestly didn't expect to like it and I forgot that some of these songs are on that album).
The title track caught me completely off guard, and although I already heard the other tracks, they were still fun to listen to again.
This still isn’t great, ... read more
This just might be one of the most boring twenty minutes I’ve experienced in months. There are absolutely no songs that I enjoyed or thought were interesting at all. There was even one point that I actually almost fell asleep, and I wasn’t even tired when I pressed play.
Favourite Track: FUCK V2
Least Favourite Tracks: BLOOD STAINS; Very Rare Boyz; OC3AN; Sounds Of The Melting Pot
Good god, the further back I go the worse he gets.
The Fall holds some of the worst tracks I’ve heard from X. These tracks aren’t just bad - no, that would be putting it lightly. These tracks are horrendous; they’re boring; they’re obnoxious; they made me feel sick listening to them. This EP is god-awful.
Favourite Track: Never
Least Favourite Tracks: White Girl; FuckABitchFace
When I pressed play on this, I was shocked. I thought that X had finally made something actually enjoyable and worth listening to. Unfortunately, by the time the fourth track rolled around, it became clear that it was just another trashy X mixtape with mostly obnoxious song but some that are fairly entertaining. Luckily, the one saving grace of this album is that those tracks that I liked really did shine.

What’s this? Something in X’s discography that isn’t complete dogshit?
This is one of the first times listening to X that I actually enjoyed the time, but I still can’t say it’s good. Tracks like Orgy and BROLY were far from good but were catchy and fun for the time they’re on. However, there are tracks like King Of The Dead that actually surprised me because it was better than a lot of other stuff I’ve heard from him. Unfortunately, though, for every ... read more
XXXtentacion somehow manages to make 12 minutes feel like an hour. To be honest, the shorter run time lifts the score up, because I really didn’t enjoy anything from here. The only upside I can think of is the fact that it only has six tracks makes it easier to get into than his future works which ended up having 20+ tracks.
Favourite Tracks: Freddy vs. Jason; AMY WINEHOUSE
Least Favourite Tracks: GXD DAMN; FUXK; RESTINPUSSY
Revolution Radio is without question Green Day’s best record in years, but still not all that good. This thing is riddled with cringy lyrics and the same boring sound they have been using for a while now. However, the one saving grace for this album is the instrumentals. They were the one thing about this album that I enjoyed most of the time, and in some cases ended up saving the songs. Hell, I’d say that I enjoyed most of the tracks on here just because of the instrumentals alone. ... read more
Uno... Dos... Tre! represents everything I don’t like about modern day punk. The boring, unoriginal sound; the extremely poor writing; the lacklustre instrumentals on two out of three of the albums here - hell, it sounds like they were just rehashing some of the instrumentals from their early work. You can see this best on ¡Uno!. The trilogy as a whole is severely uninteresting and is a definite skip, even if you want to go through their entire discography. I mean, it shows when ... read more
¡Tre! improves a bit on ¡Dos! but it still isn’t good by any sense of the word. This album has the exact same problems that runs through the entire trilogy, namely the poor writing and unoriginal sound. However, I feel like out of the three, this one by far has the worst instrumentals and is by far the least interesting.
Favourite Tracks: X-Kid; Walk Away; Brutal Love; Dirty Rotten Bastards

¡Dos! manages to be more entertaining than ¡Uno!, yet simultaneously a much worse album. The first thing I’ll say is that the best songs on here - unlike ¡Uno - were actually really good. A lot of songs were held up by the instrumentals, which for the most part were much better than ¡Uno!. In fact, there were a couple of songs, like Makeout Party - which ended up being my favourite song - which when it began I didn’t care for, but once the guitar solo kicked ... read more
¡Uno! - the opener to Green Day’s ¡Uno... Dos... Tre! trilogy - ends up being their most unoriginal record up to this point. It genuinely felt like I had heard every song on here even though I have just heard it for the first time. Every song feels like a fusion of the worst from their early work, mixed with the boring latter half of American Idiot.
I would give this a much lower score, but honestly I struggle to say that I hated anything on here. It was boring and ... read more
