Edit: I would love to elaborate on why my opinion has changed, but according to the artist my opinion is invalid until I decide to make my own music.
Original Score: 88
Lizzo performs one of the most energetic and charismatic albums of the year so far. I love pretty much everything on here: every track is just so damn catchy and the album as a whole is extremely fun. Her vocal performance is probably my favourite of the year so far, and there are quite a few tracks on here that I would say are ... read more
Micro shows Jinjer further improving on their sound and Tatiana yet again showing her amazing vocal abilities. The instrumentals on here are probably my favourite when compared to their two albums, which makes me excited for any future work they put out. I loved pretty much all of the tracks on here, but I don't feel like I'd be coming back to this EP much.
Favourite Tracks: Perennial; Teacher, Teacher!
Least Favourite Track: Micro
In my opinion, King Gizzard take a slight step backwards with Eyes Like The Sky. The concept is very interesting, and it's incredibly fun to hear the story play out. In fact, I would say that the story is beautifully written and amazingly narrated, and the instrumentals fit the story perfectly. I was really able to visualize what the narrator was saying, almost as if I was watching a movie.
However, it just seems a bit less fun than their debut. While it is fun to listen to the story, it just ... read more
Damn, FlyLo blew me away with this one. Cosmogramma is an absolutely magnificent instrumental record that was great from beginning to end. Flying Lotus somehow managed to completely improve on the already amazing Los Angeles and releases this gem of an album. I loved everything about it, and I'm someone who doesn't care for instrumental OR electronic music much at all. This honestly seems like it may end up being one of my all-time favourite electronic albums.

This is so incredibly catchy; it's loud; it's so much damn fun - everything I love in music. This is the first King Gizzard record that I've listened to, and goddamn did they leave such a huge impression on me. The amount of energy they pushed into this thing makes it impossible not to love, and left me extremely excited to see what else they have in their discography.
Even though I did give it a high 70, I do think that with more listens this has potential to grow even more on me.

Wait, Annoying Orange is still making videos? AND HE HAS AN ALBUM?! WHAT THE FUCK?! WHO ASKED FOR THIS?
Sometimes I just need to question my own decisions. Whenever I find something rated so low - regardless of whether it's music, a film or a game - I always feel the need to actually experience it. The only other time I have given a 0 to an album, it was because it had multiple songs that I genuinely needed to skip because of how bad they were. This, though, this takes the cake. At least ... read more
Los Angeles is a really good and interesting instrumental record. I think most people (myself included) don't really care about instrumental music; it's good to have on in the background if you're studying or doing pretty much anything else, but you wouldn't choose it over another album. Flying Lotus manages to make a great electronic instrumental album that I can say is definitely worth listening to. It's not the best thing out there, and it's certainly not my favourite instrumental work, but ... read more
I have the same issues with this album as I did with Stomachaches - Parachutes is a boring, forgettable and generic punk record. While I wouldn't go as far as to say that this is bad, there's not really much I enjoyed about it. There were a couple of songs like Veins and Oceans that I liked, but for the most part the songs were either incredibly boring or just obnoxious. Again, I feel like this is a record that I would have enjoyed if I heard it back when it came out, but I honestly just don't ... read more
Honestly, I kind of disappointed. I'm a huge MCR fanboy, and after hearing that this is closer to MCR's sound than Gerard's work, I assumed that I would enjoy this more. Unfortunately, to me this feels like a generic punk record. I don't hate it, it just isn't for me.
There are a couple of songs that I actually like a lot. In particular, Weighted, Blood Infections and Neverenders are all songs that I can actually see myself coming to. However, there are still a lot of songs that I just don't ... read more
This sucks so much, yet I like this so much. I don't understand this, this has so much wrong about it and all of it is exactly what I hate about soundcloud rap. So why do I like this at all? I honestly don't know.
Favourite Tracks: Thotiana; Famous Cryp; Dead Locs
Least Favourite Tracks: Fucced Em; Put In Her Face
I know this is going to seem ironic considering my score, but what's with all the praise the critics are giving it? Six different critics gave it a perfect score for crying out loud! I mean, it's definitely an extremely fun album and an excellent debut, but it's far from perfect.
I feel like this is an album that I am very unlikely ever going to come back to, and if I do the score may end up going down. Yet at the same time, after my initial listen, I ended up loving most of it. Tracks like ... read more
If it's true that this is Slayer's final record, then I'm incredibly disappointed. Whilst it's not exactly bad, it really is no where near as good as anything else in their near-flawless discography. With albums like Reign In Blood and Seasons In The Abyss setting the bar so high, for Slayer to release their final album and it being not even close to that quality, it's... it just feels insulting.
Like I said before, it's not necessarily bad, I wouldn't say anything in Slayer's discography is. ... read more
Even though God Hates Us All showed Slayer begin to go back to their older thrash sound, with Christ Illusion further pulling them back towards that sound, I would say that it's World Painted Blood that shows them fully reverting back to that sound. This record proves that they were still able to go back to their old sound and still produce a great record. Tracks like Beauty Through Order and Public Display Of Dismemberment show that they are perfectly capable of making amazing thrash material ... read more
Christ Illusion is quite possibly Slayer's most underrated album. It is usually undeservedly placed near the bottom of many fans lists. However, as far as I'm concerned this is yet another great addition to their already amazing catalog. Although it isn't their best work, Christ Illusion definitely holds some great songs alongside some amazing guitar solos. Those solos on Black Serenade and on Catatonic are both that I would argue are some of the best in their long discography.

It is kinda eerie that an album titled 'God Hates Us All' was released on 9/11.
God Hates Us All is a really good Slayer album that shows the band going back to their more thrash-ier sound. Whilst it's still clear that they're going for a more nu-metal sound, songs like Exile and Payback show that they are back with their roots.
Whilst I think that this is their best work in nearly a decade, I still think that this is far from their much better older albums. Songs like New Faith and Threshold ... read more
The one Slayer album that everyone wants to forget. I don't think anyone will disagree with me when I say that this is Slayer's worst work.
In the 90s, when thrash metal began to die out, all of the popular thrash artists had to adapt. The other big thrash band, Metallica, went through the direction of going with a lighter, more radio-friendly sound. Slayer decided to go with the complete opposite, opting with a more aggressive nu-metal sound. And I know I'm not the first to say it, but Slayer ... read more
Divine Intervention is Slayers first major dip in quality, but it's still a decent record that has its moments. In particular, tracks like the title track and Circle Of Beliefs are actually really good, and others like SS-3 and Killing Fields are also extremely enjoyable. However, forgettable and downright boring songs like Sex. Murder. Art and Dittohead just make it near impossible to love this album. It really doesn't help that every single one of their previous records were nothing short of ... read more
Seasons In The Abyss is nearly as good as Reign In Blood, but I still need to give the medal of best Slayer album to the latter.
There are so many amazing songs on here. Most notably War Ensemble, Spirit In Black, Hallowed Point and the absolutely phenomenal title track - all of these songs are ones that I would argue are much better than a lot of what's on Reign In Blood.
However, I do feel like the worse tracks on here stick out a lot more than any of that album. For example, Blood Red is ... read more
Another great album by Slayer. South Of Heaven shows the band going in a different direction after the success of Reign In Blood, and personally I like it.
A few complaints I have is that I do think that a few tracks didn't really need to be here. Songs like Live Undead and Behind The Crooked Cross felt like nothing more than just filler to me.
Also, whilst I still absolutely adore the instrumentals, I do think the vocals are fairly uninteresting here, and honestly I think they are at their ... read more
Currents is a pretty good album, but I feel like it's a step backwards after such a great album as Lonerism. Whilst I enjoyed the sound for the most part, I did find that a couple of tracks lost my interest, and it really doesn't help that there are a couple of filler tracks on here.
In all honesty, that may just be a problem with me, though. After reading the reviews on here, a lot of them say that it's amazing and it's Tame Impala's best record yet. So I guess that I just found it overhyped ... read more
