Album #50, 2010s, Prog House
Not my type of music, but I remember how popular this kind of music was on YouTube in the 2010s. This Tape has some solid songs, but also some misses. Just sounds like YouTube Intros tbh but I can't rate it that low because it just sounds nostalgic to me.
What I like: Amazing production combining Classical Live Instrumentation with heavy bass / drums or other modern instruments, which works best on the moody songs that get you almost lost in darkness. Still I think the balance between lighter songs is pretty unique and offers a nice listening experience. Also she has a nice voice and some really great melodies and flows.
Whit I don't like: Some of the Songwriting is a bit bland, maybe even corny. However, yeah the songwriting also has ... read more
Thanks for the rec @FÉRINA
This is one of the most talked about Cloud Rap Projects for a reason. The production is special and every song sounds completely different. Also I felt like the style of sampling is similar to SpaceGhostPurpp, they are just both very talented producers. While I don't think this project is perfect, because it has its flaws, I think it's really up there, competing with the best cloud rap projects. He creates an amazing immersive dreamy world that pulls ... read more
It's actually pretty good. Great production, solid rapping (maybe a bit monotonous) and some solid lyricism.
I like that he isn't speaking in metaphors too much, this is something I don't like about Billy Woods and others. He's better in making his music understandable without you having to pull out a pen and paper. Or even having to Google words that Aseop Rock uses. I like it, but it's making me sleepy.
Cool project.
These biches love Sosa. An I do too. Him on cloud rap beats is something I needed after listening to Hold my Liquor on repeat for the last days. On here you get really good unconventional beats that blend generes and he also just has a great voice. There are weird moments in his delivery and the beats but that makes the tape great. While it doesn't have the hits 'Finally Rich' has, it's definitely a more cohesive project as a whole.
This is so dark. If you listen closely this goes crazy hard. If you listen with one ear songs sound similar, but I like the depth of the beats. He's like the street Travis version.
brat for Yeezus fans 🐐
Amazing production. Industrial goes hard on here. Also I didn't expect a lot of good writing from Slayyter but this is actually pretty bad, while also acceptable for her kind of music. So first off all the album tarts off really well, with high octane bangers that incorporate that industrial sound really well. With 'Crank' I think the albums starts falling off a bit. Too much distortion on this one and not that great melodies like on the 4 songs before. ... read more

Album #49, 2000s, House
I made a sad Discovery. I don't actually like Daft Punk that much. I'm kinda disappointed in this 91(!!!!??) rated record.
I feel like this is such a french sounding album and they have great ideas and the production is sounding very crisp and professional. So, while I had a pretty good image of daft punk before I listened to this boring ... read more
If the album was more like Afghanistan and Hoover this would be more my taste but still a really good Yung Lean release. I don't like some of the digicore vibes I get from some songs, I don't think it works that well with the dark vibe this album tries to achieve. However on some songs like 'Highway Patrol' it works pretty well. It's just a bit to prominent in the album for my taste.
Big minus because I can't understand 80% of what he says. The instrumentation is nice and brings variety. His vocal style is a bit too sleepy for me and while it works on some tracks he doesn't show to much personality and different deliveries. Good but too raw and not fully fleshed out.
This is the best produced Afrobeats inspired album I heard hands down. Some songs sound heavenly. I listened to it while the sun goes down, just like in the cover and it's a vibe.

Album #48, 2000s, Electro Pop
The dark club sound was excecuted very well and the project has a nice flow to it. Obviously Lady Gaga is a great vocalist and the production mixes so many generes that I can even tell you all of them, while it is very Electronic and Synth driven. Ultimaly it comes down to the bangers in here, there isn't any filler making the project short ... read more

Album #47, 2000s, Coke Rap
My first introduction to Malice was LGSEO. I obviously heard a lot of Pusha T before that, as he is more prominent in my generation . Now this to be is a better Clipse record than 'Lord Willin' and potentially 'LGSEO', let me tell you why. First of all the production is better and more experimental. Where Hell Hath No Fury ... read more

Album #46, 2000s, Retro Soul Revival
Amy Winehouse had an incredible, even generational voice. The instrumentation on the Titletrack is so damn fitting for her. This is such a perfect song, shame on anybody that didn't give this song 100. The emotion is so raw and resembles in the the dramatic dark production. But not only this tracks is amazing, there whole album is ... read more

Album #45, 2000s, Pop Punk & Emo
The instrumentation is really good and the energy that the fast tracks give off is great. I also like the slower tracks but to me his voice is hit or miss. Sometimes he sounds amazing, then again he sounds bad with other inflections. The song structures are not average, which I like. Great project.
Actually this grew on me and I ... read more
Some of the best Earl Sweatshirt I've heard since the 2010s. Also probably the best MIKE has ever sounded on a full project. I really fw the production, it's really amazing. Hot take I think both, especially Earl fit this type of production better then what they tried in the last years. But I'm all here for the diversity, getting different projects from them each year. It's refreshing.
Very Solid. Thundercat comes through with a nice psychedelic jazz soundscape without doing too much. Solid performences all over the bord even if the writing is kinda bland. Kinda falls off after Track 11 imo.
I love group project and I love how they made it a 90s aesthetic. Everything was set for a very enjoyable project, which it is, but I am missing some solid hooks here. I like most of the rapping but they didn't bounce of each other enough. For a collective tape this needs to feel more interactive between the members. Solid nonetheless.
Just look at the producers! Of course the production is gonna be lit. KILLY has an infectious vocal delivery and uses the autotune like the best in the game. Good project, but you won't get a sound you never heard before. If ur a fan of 2010s Trap, this is a solid listen.
Good production, not enough direction and some solid flows. Delivery is hit or miss for me.
