This is kinda transitional from the heavy Pixies influenced with a touch of Pavement's slacker attitude of the nineties to a more personal sound that will turn them into one of the top 2000s indie bands. You can hear 100% Spoon moments in the amazing "30 Gallon Tank" and "Metal Detektor", plus here and there they're already using the studio and the mix in a creative way. Still not fully focused but a good one and a good second start.
Wow, this is boring. Coldplay enter their wannabe-mid-U2 phase and they achieve the result with this collection of fillers I can't remember anything about. The first and the last songs are the most interesting ones but everything in between is just nothing. Anyway, I've read the band is also still not happy with this record, so I guess the value of it is clear to everyone.
