Definitely Daniel Caesar's best album to date. The songs on here are very beautiful and sure it can feel like it drags on sometimes and that it's a bit repetetive but it didn't bother me while listening to the album.
It's a mixed bag. It features some songs that are really good and the other half are full with some songs that are mediocre. I do enjoy it more than I hate it though.
It sounded pretty much exactly how I thought it was going to sound. Because of that I also wasn't super blown away when I listened and it did sound like I thought it would. Nevertheless, I did actually enjoy this very much and I liked pretty much every song until I felt it becoming repetetive in the end.
While it's a great album it is as expected not up to the levels of his later work. Like with every other Frank Ocean project pretty much all the songs are good. The only song I didn't quite like was "There Will Be Tears" solely because of the beginning of the song. The interludes are a bit repetetive too which isn't really that nice, he could have removed most of them and I don't feel like it would have changed how I felt about the album.
After being a bit underwhelmed about Parannoul's first 2 albums this was a relief. A lot of the instrumentals were loud on this album which on some songs felt like a nice touch while at the same time it could feel like it was harsh noise on 1 or 2 songs. I don't know much about Asian Glow or sonhos tomam conta but considering they were part of this collab album I have to give them credit too.
The production is very good and there are one or two that I love on here. Everything else is enjoyable but not anything groundbreaking or special. Don't see much replay value and I'm not too sure on how well I will remember this album weeks from now, but we'll see.
I like this and I like every instrumental on this but I feel like he messed up on the mixing. The mixing on the voice made me not like songs that I would have probably loved if it was mixed better. The mixing brought down what could have been a great or even an amazing album to a just alright album. I don't like the idea of "After The Magic" being a fluke but it is what it is. My favorite songs were "To See the Next Part of the Dream" and "Extra Story" as I felt ... read more
Space Song might be a top 10 song of all time ngl. A really unique listen and a beautiful album. I have a very limited experience with Dream Pop but this album is one of the reasons why I think it's worth to listen to it and explore more into the genre.
I didn't know anything about boygenius and when I went to their page on spotify I was very surprised to see that this is a group with Pheobe Bridgers. Knowing that made me even more excited than if I would go in just not knowing anything about them. That this album was a banger and a top 5 of the year was just the icing on the cake. Very beautiful songs by 3 great artists.
It's the most overrated Gorillaz album. I have seen people rate this album and talk about this album like it's the best/the only good album since Plastic Beach. I do think this album is good but I think it's barely better than "Humanz" and no better than "The Now Now" and "Cracker Island". They compile a bunch of artists that makes very hit or miss songs on this.
He maxed out his stats on "The Race" and then he was told he had to make 7 other tracks.
I think this is very overhated due to the fact that it's simplistic but I like that. I like the vibe of it and when you listen to it you understand that they didn't try to make another "Demon Days" or a "Plastic Beach" and while some may find the songs boring that's just too bad for them ig.
This album starts off great with the first couple of tracks but the longer into it you go it becomes more bland. I found myself wanting to see what the features had to offer on most of the tracks as Damon Albarn's vocals wasn't the most interesting on this and neither were the features most of the time too.
Imagine it’s 2010, they are coming back from their amazing 3 album run if they’re self titled, “Demon Days” and their newly released “Plastic Beach” that was released the same year as this. If I was a fan back then I would be very disappointed. This is a huge drop of quality for Gorillaz and the songs are bad instrumentals and the ones that actually have vocals are so bad. I can see why they named this “The Fall” at least.
I liked every song on this but most of them were just good and nothing special except for "Baby Criminal", "Troglodyte" and "Return To Monke" which were great. Every other song sounds like one of these songs you will hear once and think it's good but never return to it.
Without a doubt the best album released by Gorillaz and one of the best albums I have ever heard. The electric instrumentals are phenomenal and every song is amazing. The album is an experience and it opens up beautifully with the orchestral intro. All the features are also perfectly placed on every song.
While being a great album it has songs like "White Lights" that to me feels like filler and "El Mañana" which had bad mixing. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the intro and "Last Living Souls" but everything else was amazing.
I think Brent Faiyaz has the voice and talent to make a very good album and that's why I liked WASTELAND, but when it comes to his debut album "Sonder Son" I don't think he really uses any of the talent and instead he makes a pretty generic and somewhat repetitive album. My favorite track is "So Far Gone/Fast Life Bluez".
I could fall asleep to this album.
This album is so boring. It sounds the same nearly the whole way through, the instrumentals are boring, her voice is boring and everything about this is just boring. In the end there was 2 or 3 songs that I actually didn't hate but before I got to those I had to listen to 1 hour of the crap that was before that. It has no business being this long. I was excited to listen to this as I hadn't listen to any music from her before but this was so underwhelming and ... read more
