auf serillk - Fusion Reactor EP

Checked out this EP and its pretty great! Filled with glitchy and intriguing production front to back. Lots of influences from experimental glitch and IDM type producers but still able to hold their own identity. An overall pretty good EP.

Glad to hear that TMBG is officially back into album mode this year. First great single for the upcoming album. Very excited to hear more until it finally drops in April. :D

Moby - wait for me.
82

Moby is a peculiar man but I can't deny his incredible producing skills and having such a great knack for downtempo / trip hop like tracks. Cause I'm a sucker for that genre and a hardcore fan of it. What Moby does here on this record is really get it down to a "T". Blending downtempo vibes with these great vocals all over the record. I just really like this record and a silent fan of the guy's work lol...until now.

MY 1000th REVIEW!!!. . .goes to They Might Be Giants new EP.

Latest tracks from TMBG offer some nice and catchy tracks in this small EP. I enjoyed most of all the tracks. I just hope this makes the TMBG happen in 2026. :D

Really cool selections of songs together for a short little EP. I actually really love the soundscapes of these tracks and how they come together, a whole album like this would be really cool for something that Skrillex could pull off.

TOMORA - THE THING

A great new single from the duo TOMORA. Trip Hop inspired was not the next style I thought they would go for after an exciting and harsher first single. This one though is incredible and hoping the full project will be as diverse and unique as these two singles have been.

Étienne De Crécy - WARM UP
83

I wished I got to this one sooner because it’s actually a really good modern Etienne record. Filled with fun nu-disco tracks and some great features. It’s an all around fun record with barely any skips and production all around is fun, chill, and groovy. Probably gonna be one of my favorite modern nu-disco albums of the decade with more listens.

Baxter Dury & Étienne De Crécy & Delilah Holliday - B.E.D
33

What the fuck. Actually the most boring and stale synthpop I've ever heard. They sound so unfinished and the vocalists barely give any emotions at all in this. I would totally just skip this release if Imma be real. Check out "Fly Away" and "White Coats". Thats it.

Étienne De Crécy - Super Discount 3
78

A decent follow up to the S.D. series and a fun amount of tracks are here. Some tracks are tongue and cheek (I assume parodying the EDM scene during the 2010's). This record is a somewhat return to form to the old classic house Etienne was known for. While it structured like the classic Super Discount series, the production is a bit more modern and especially the vocalists on here which are serviceable on here. Overall, I'd say that this is a good record late in Etienne career. ... read more

BANGING HOUSE BEATS!

Étienne De Crécy "Beats 'n' Cubes" is an complete change from his normal softer house style and scene. Going more into the darker electro house and techno. I believe he pulled it off very well and made a complete banger of tracks one after another. It kinda shocked me that this is so different from his last EP and with such a long gap between them, this must have been a shock to those used to Étienne's previous more ... read more

Siriusmo is seriously one of the most underrated electronic artists of all time. Banger after banger under their belt for more than 20+ years!

A genuinely beautiful and downright pretty sounding EP from detail! This EP is so atmospheric with it's echoing synth pads, glitchy textures, and soothing melodies. A really massive underrated gem in the ambient / downtempo genre.

"@ikmmm Tbh I think Safe and Sound would have worked on this album too because the drums on that are kinda the same on here? Idk if it’s the speakers or headphones Im on but the beats were thupping for me, prob due to I think most of the snare’s being the weakest parts which I can agree is not a good style for house tracks lol. And of course Alan Braxe tracks are way more bouncier and harder because he’s still doing classic french house which demands for that while Justice is just experimenting and having their own versions of the genre clearly with some working and some not. Anyways thanks for this convo, I’ve never gone so in-depth with an album with someone before this much XD even if we got our differences."
On ikmmm's review of Justice - Hyperdrama
"Honestly the drums were also a thing that bugged me at first but I think I noticed that it's something they don't wanna go back to anymore. For better or worse, something about the debut they seem to really wanna move away from that "angry" vibe and with the bass and drums specifically. They seemed to be more inspired by Alan Braxe and more soft "organic" sounding electro house / synthwave. I also feel like they were very inspired by Kavinsky's latest album to by a lot lol. For me, this was fun and sucks you didn't get that same feeling. Luckily, more is to come from this group so stay hopeful for the future. ^^"
