Brian Eno casually inventing post-punk and new wave in 1974 in some of the funniest, quirkiest songs I've ever heard. Genius. Underrated album, and unfortunately the last one before he spiraled into ambient music.
This feels like the evolution to Mingus' The Black Saint and The Sinner Lady. Progressively so dense, complex, surreal and haunting that you have no option other to give in and drown in layers of instruments and textures. 'Little Red Riding Hood Hit the Road' might be one of my favourite songs ever; not only it's brilliant in its own, with those dark, dreamy saxes piling up, but the fact it's composed as a palindrome is mindblowing. I've always adored OK Computer, In Rainbows and A Moon Shaped Pool, like everyone else. But for whatever reason, I decided to skip most of their discography, Kid A included. Finally, today was the day I decided to listen to the final component of the band's "holy trinity", and God, I regret taking so long. It's their best album.
