I first listened to this album around the time I was starting high school. It was a confusing place filled with too many people and new faces. This album didn’t help. As I was also confused by the world it created. But I could tell I’d rather live in it than the world I was living in. Coming back to it now, I still feel that way. The grimey, dirty world this album sets up is quite masterful. Using these dirty jazz samples coupled with odd vocals and flows. It gets inside me every ... read more
How can something so simple pack such an emotional punch on a listener? Tim really is something special, man. Everything on here is ambient at its simplest. Nothing fancy. Yet the soundscapes are so liminal, the ambience so crushing. It’s beautiful a
I thought this was really, really great. I think breakence is starting to come into his own as an artist as the production is truly phenomenal. His vocals are also very impactful on the listener. The lyrics need some work but that’s okay. They’re barely legible in the first place. So you can tune them out and have fun in this album. Which is exactly what I did.
All of these songs sound the exact same how do people pick out favourites and least favourites this album is just a generic hodgepodge of dream pop and horniness that shows all it has to say with the first strum of that reverbered out guitar
A great change in genre and tone from the boring as hell because the internet. The production is great, Donald can hold his own on these songs as well. Which is something I didn’t expect him to do. And obviously, me and your mama is one of the best openers of the 2010’s. Great listen through and through.
A beautiful, soft, and quiet collection of ballads about life and death. Will definitely be in my pondering rotation in the future. These soft guitars coupled with the close up singing is just a combination for an absolute stunner of an album in all forms.
A truly beautiful world transporter in every sense of the word. I think its slow pace adds so much to this album. As it gives me more time to explore this beautiful world. Same thing with the receptiveness. It only enhances everything.
For somebody who thinks sweet trip is pretty overrated, I have to admit this is a hidden gem. It’s so atmospheric and the world it creates is lovely. It’s a little rough around the edges, but that adds to its charm and its world. Give it a listen, why don’t ya
LP2 was cool, but ultimately underwhelming and disappointing. This is what it should’ve been. A beautiful, layered, sad experience. Still doesn’t top the first, but I’m okay with that. It’s not trying to be LP1 again. It’s doing its own thing. Which is beautiful to me.
This album is absolutely stunning and beautiful in every way. I wish I could’ve found it sooner. Lianne is so likeable in her beauty. Both in production and in voice. A definite highlight for the decade at large. Can’t wait to see where she goes.
If you wanna get into Peggy, then please listen to this. I found it to be unlike anything else he’s ever done. The production is crazy and same goes for the political commentary. I’d call this mixtape essential for Peggy. Don’t skip it, you’re missing a classic.
I know this is a stupid little remix from a Nintendo game, but hear me out.
I think this is where my true love for music started. It’s weird and stupid to say, but it’s the truth. I had always liked music. I maybe even loved it. But nothing captured my attention like this. Absolutely nothing at all. It hypnotized me. Which is saying a lot. Considering I was a stupid 6th grader and this song is almost 8 minutes long. Looking at it now, it’s not bad at all. It’s still ... read more
Pretty solid trap album with the normal amount of standouts and duds. It’s really nothing special. But it’s not bad at all. I understand why metro is huge after listening to this. His production can clearly reach far and wide. Which is awesome.
