For a slowcore album, it certainly feels slow. It takes its time a lot. And while it makes it more endearing, it also can make this album feel boring at points. But it’s still a great listen.
I’m floored, honestly. I didn’t listen to any of the singles and was beyond shocked with how good this album is. Will definitely go down as a huge highlight for metal not only this year, but maybe the whole decade. So furious with the world, and so am I.
Blah blah blah I got trolled who cares. This album is interesting, but I don’t think a lot of its core ideas are for me. I respect the craft, but the craft isn’t for me.
Lots of style, not a lot of substance. I like Daniel Caesar the singer, but I do not know anything about Daniel Caesar the person.
I’d say there’s more hits than misses. But the misses are very generic and add nothing. If this album was 3/4 the length it could’ve been so good. If only
Safely good modern gangsta rap right here. I don’t care about boldly James as a rapper but he does well. Uncle al kills it though. Like always.
Unwound’s most famous album, leaves turn inside you is something that while I think is good, I’d definitely say it’s overrated. While this album isn’t as unique or striking as it, I still found it to be very good. With hard hitting production chops and songwriting.
This isn’t music. This is a reflective and moving art piece that is both confusing and the most sense an album has made to me. I would never recommend this to somebody or listen to it again but I’m glad it’s here.
I’m not ready to die yet. But when I am, I want this album to lift my spirit into whatever afterlife I end up in.
Lots of high octane fun with a great frontman backed by even greater production. Will definitely grow on me as it’s just so infectious and pure fun.
A humble, cold, and reflective take on Midwest emo. It’s really something special with the way it uses woodwind instruments within the mix. Making everything sound more lively and more sad. Very glad I checked this out.
Just a flat out fun and good vibe. It’s not deep, it’s not perfect, but what it goes for is great and it succeeds massively.
Goes fucking crazy with awesome riffs and cool as fuck vocals. Just wished it was paced more like pink by Boris.
I think the vibe works. But not to its fullest. Which makes me sad as I really wished it worked more.
A wonderfully experimental and heartfelt journey felt from every member. I haven’t really connected with the groups post saturation romps. They were all good, but nothing exceptional. I’m glad this is an exception.
Slog and a half to get through. With no interesting ideas, nothing grand to say, with nothing grandiose to back it up. This is the most nothing body of work I’ve ever heard her put out. It just makes me feel nothing and it doesn’t challenge the listener. It just sits there, being the most mediocre version of “listenable” I’ve ever heard.
