8 Years Later.... Personally I feel like Rocky did not disappoint, he's in top form and he's having fun (sonically, aesthetically, visually, you name it).... To me this album is Rocky at his most polished in terms of sound, the sound he experimented with on 'Testing' is achieved in 'DBD'... The album is distinct and is a testament of our times, most of all... The album is FUN.... Highly Recommended Listen

This album is a celebration of everything hip hop. From its creation to its release, everything was calculated and immaculate. An event in and of itself, every creative involved deserves credit.
An Essential Listen.
I underestimated her game. I clearly didn't know.
Replay Value: High
Highly Recommended Listen.
The project is a worthy sequel to The Sun's Tirade. Arguably more laid back and less dense. Makes this a worthwhile listen with some speaker bangers sprinkled in between more jazzy ballads.

Highly Recommended Listen.
Great listen from 1st to last track. A very worthwhile debut from the TDE talent. Isaiah was pouring his heart out over some amazing production.

Album is stacked. First time listen was something to experience. Definitely deserves must hear. The production and structuring makes it a great listen.

This was Carti's Yeezus... The influence it had on the Rage Trap scene is undeniable. Can't believe it dropped in 2020.
Highly Recommended Listen.
This was the first project from Bino that I listened to in full. Highly influential even though critics seemingly did not like it much. The production, lyrics and album structure/packaging was something to behold then and it still holds some these many years later. Topically the project was very ahead of it's time when you listen to it now.
Highly Recommended Listen.
Recommendation from @RobiBlue aka RobiWolf aka RobiShadow (a man of many pseudonyms)
A good listen, pleasant surprise. The production is well rounded and balanced. There are bombastic songs however there a quieter songs that pack a punch. Pop Trap soundscapes anchored by Countryesque ballads. Some of the lyrics are sombre and work well with the production. Sobel is seems to be having fun on this project. Would recommend. Poland got some talent!
Pleasant surprise listening to this, been circling it for a while. Real smooth production and the lyricism is relatable. She's trying something with her vocals when she sings and it's going to be interesting to see where she takes it. Highly recommended listen.
Wild, these are some really good songs from Cole. Bring back that 2010's era vibe real hard, real nostalgic. Great production and artistry from Cole.
This is a nostalgic project, the songs are built from the artistic vision of the band. The songs are divided between fun and bombastic while others are somber and contemplative. Every artist featured adds a different aesthetic that fits into their respective songs and make the project whole. There are bangers laced throughout and some really fun songs and performances. The album was a successful experiment in fusing it's various sounds and the curation makes it a worthwhile listen. A ... read more
The hype for this project was undeniably over the roof even among everything that occurred prior to its release. Scott had a lot to prove here, he delivers however the project seems to have a certain lacking element. The project could have went on a slightly different direction and worked however here we are left wondering what could've been. For a project titled 'Utopia' it's pretty dark, yet there are some glimmers of light which may have been the point. The project is a ... read more
The project where Travis crossed over to super stardom. A very strong entrance to his discography and a project that surely created many of his fans. Here he aims for the stars and ends up on the Sun. He managed to make a project with no skips where everyone involved was at their most excellent. The production choices here were a pleasant surprise and made this album standout in 2018 which was filled with many amazing projects. Here he was cemented as pop star trap artist.
Experimental Travis is the best Travis. The melodies and performances here were animated, even from the features themselves. The project was a showcase of talent and having fun when you make a project. The project is riddled with bangers top to bottom and the production choice was a hint of what Travis is capable of as an artist. Despite the response it received, Birds is a certified hood classic with standout tracks like 'goosebumps' and 'pick up the phone'.
Hands down an influential album in starting the pop trap era of music. Project was ahead of it's time in all aspects. Justin Bieber and Young Thug on the same song was unprecedented yet people found that here it worked well. 'Rodeo' shifted a lot of attention onto the trap rage scene and paved the variants way for what we now have. Alot of standout tracks from this project in terms of production and performance. Before 'Astroworld', there was 'Rodeo'.
This project is like a spaceship ride through a nebula, vibrant colours and some sparkling stars. It was brings about a kalaedo scope of emotions while maintaining this dream-like state. There are some quieter moments in songs which make you ponder the subject matter and your own life. The project is dense but in a beautiful way, immersing one within this world crafted with transcendent melodies. The lyrics are simple yet they paint some beautiful pictures and make one contemplate. Funny I listened to 'Currents' before listening to this one. 'Lonerism' feels more accessible by comparison, it's layered instrumentals are juxtaposed with light great lyricism which is simple by melodically excellent. The project is almost pop like yet maintains a mystical feel to it that makes it a great listen. I was late to the Tame Impala party but I'm glad I've given the project a chance. Would highly recommend.
