Crim3s - Stay Ugly EP
61

I can definetly why people rate this EP so high, loads of empowering sounds and an open floodgate of emotion. Those are the aspects that gripped me.
Personally wished for more innovation on the production side of things, I would love some change ups mid songs or something to break up the monotony a bit. For something so outgoing and brave the vocals seem way too hidden which kinda confused me.
Great listen though, hope they come back with something someday!

Radiohead - OK Computer

(Previous score: 90)
I finally revisited this project after a year or a bit. I have experienced a lot more of life in that time and have properly had the time to dive into the lyrics and intricate details on this project. Long story short: It's phenomenal.
OK Computer is such a coherent, consistent, atmospheric and beautiful album. The writing and production are both perfect. This masterpiece is an achievement of rock as well as my favourite Radiohead album.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven!

It's like an onion.
It's layered and it makes me cry like a bitch.

Dorian Electra - My Agenda
76

This scratches my itch for really creative and absolutely batshit insane music.

HEALTH - DISCO4 :: PART I
64

For something brimming with energy I couldn't help but feel a little pulled out of the experience which was either from the repetitive production or HEALTHs uninteresting vocals or weird features. It's the features which really carried this for me though. Loved the 100 gecs, JPEGMAFIA, Soccer Mommy and Xiu Xiu songs which really felt different and more interesting than most of the samey song on this record.
The production from HEALTH though is very impressive at times and is worth the detour to ... read more

1 Trait Danger - 1 Trait High
67

"I heard you only watch missionary porn, you super hetero-normative fuck"
Genuenly great humour here and awesome production. I lowkey screamed when I found out that CSH reference 1 Trait Danger songs in MADLO.

Car Seat Headrest - Nervous Young Man
100

The more I listen to this album the more I am blown away with the amount of depth and emotion which is placed into every single song. In another version of this review I attempted to explain why I enjoyed all 20 songs individually which I don't think fully encapsulates how impressive this double album actually is.

This project has surprisingly incredible writing, innovative production, and awe-inspiring creativity which never falters throughout the entire 2 hours of music. It's incredible that ... read more

Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
90

Socially aware, beautiful acoustic, awesome song writing.

Freddie Dredd - Suffer
64

Fun as fuck. Beats and flows get a bit repetitive since they are quite simular in each song. I would appreciate Freddies voice singing without an effect ontop of it more often, the songs would be a lot more hard hitting.

Matt Watson - OUCH!
71

A really satisfying, neatly packaged project following the story of a relationship degrading and trying to view it in the most positive light, but sometimes it falters.

Solid EP.

Barenaked Ladies - Snacktime!
80

Essential album for kids growing up in Canada.

JPEGMAFIA - Veteran
86

mf really using asmr in his beats

Car Seat Headrest - How To Leave Town
92

The most emotionally raw Car Seat Headrest album. Will Toledo isn't afraid to take his time with some of these songs and it pays off. Somehow every damn song is a banger with a box full of emotion to back it as well as some hilarious lines which actually got me laughing out loud which never happens. Brilliant.

Sun Kil Moon - Benji
94

Some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. Carissa gets me in tears every single time.

The Caretaker - Everywhere at the end of time
90

This is the most horrific music I have listened to in my life.

Stage 1 - 3:
There is a chance that sometime in your life there will be something that will affect you, something that you can't control. As you begin to deteriorate you get scared, call out for help, but no one can help you. The only thing you have to comfort yourself are the memories of your past, the music you've listened to, images of your family and thoughts of who you are. That is until the songs you've been listening to for ... read more

The Caretaker - An empty bliss beyond this World

Heavily listened to this in my first year of uni. Eating dinners alone, walking through uni hallways late at night after studying, this album was a cushion of fear. There were times I had to stop listening to this project because I felt too uncomfortable like death was staring at me across the bed I was sleeping in. But there came a point where I finally listened to the whole project from front to back. I still fear death, however because of this album I am able to feel more comfortable and ... read more
