Compared to Mount Eerie's other projects I can feel the fun which was had recording this project from the screams and chants with "Ut Oh! It's Mourning Time Again", "Do Not Be Afraid" and many more songs. This album also contains some of my favourite Mount Eerie songs as well such as "Where Is My Tarp", "Let's Get out of the Romance", "Human" and "I Can't Beleive You Actually Died".
Even though this album isn't as in depth or ... read more
I don't think any other album of b-sides or demos would have effected me like these range of tracks did.
lord.
Incredible introduction to Shoegaze. Somehow you can chill in bed as hard as you can dance to this album.
Favourite Tracks: When You Sleep, Sometimes, What You Want
Just Phil alone in a cabin playing an acoustic with icy cold strings. One of the best folk albums ever.
idk bout you but I transend into a different realm every time I listen to this.
A short and stunning project with emotional heart wrenching songs which I instantly fell in love with. You Swan, Go On might be one of my favourite songs ever.
Favourite Tracks: Voice in Headphones, You Swan Go on, With My Hands Out, Grave Robbers.
Filled to the BRIM with incredibly soothing and jazzy beats which perfectly melds with Anderson's flow and soft tone throughout the project. Each song has it's own life and energy as well as their own unique story keeping myself completely emmersed within this world Anderson is sharing.
On the first listen I didn't get that much out of the project at first as I think many people dis after getting straight off the absolute emotionally explosive The Glow pt 2 and Mount Eerie records. The more I listened the more intoxicating every small minute detail and melody of this mostly quiet album was.
There are ideas which connect multiple songs like the same humming drone outro for "In the Bats Mouth" and "No Inside, No Outside" as well as the simular short lengths ... read more
The range of musical genres with the help of a range of supurb musicians but still making it feel "gorillaz" is really something awesome to witness.
The mix of nolstagia and genuenly perfect transitions between each songs on the tracklist shows the amount of care, thought, and subtlety that C418 placed in this project.
This is the most genuine perfect score I've ever gave to an album.
Beautiful, raw, emotional and powerful.
THE parent album.
Shoegaze like, experimental, pop inspired bangers. The cover art fits the music like Cinderellas shoes. There are many moments which made my jaw drop such as the second half of Daily Routine or the main chorus of Bluish.
This project was really able to pace itself and keep the exciting moments for when it really needed it which kind of makes me really wish the album was a bit more loud and abrasive however I do respect the more calm and peaceful approach it took.
One of the grandest musical experiences I have ever heard.
Soundtracks For The Blind is filled with isolated stories of peoples lives within this world who are enraged with the curcumstances of their life and blind of the beauty that life holds. These stories ranges from fetuses to sex addicted popstars. The more of these stories I listen to the more I realise how hard it is to not be blind with hatred and depression with all the horrible things that humans go through.
Incredible display of Japanese pop. Quite literally a classic.
