Mothware - Please Be Gentle

From post rock glory to the wailing of the damned this journey of an album has it all!

Like seriously this album was a fucking TRIP that was going places I never expected when I first hit play. Super immersive shit so I recommend you play this lying down with headphones in the dark and just immerse yourself into this album.

According to the artist into page on Spotify this latest effort of theirs "Fuses Emogaze, post rock, and drone" as they continue exploring noises of the world ... read more

Eh, got nothing out of this. But a nice way to use up the extra hour I had this morning.

Paul McCartney & Linda McCartney - Ram
95

I almost forgot just how spectacular this album is.

I was listening to my favorite Beatles songs last night and ran into a song from this album which I haven't heard since the initial listen back around April. I thought to myself "Damn this song is awesome! I haven't checked out this Album in a bit so why not?"

I adored almost everything this album had to offer. Paul was on fucking fire and refused to be put out his creative passion was a straight up inferno throughout this album. ... read more

Kagami Smile - A Image of You Below

About a month ago I was exploring Spotify's recommendations for me as that algorithm was slowly learning my taste. At some point the app spat out a good song from an artist named Kagami Smile. Good enough that I was motivated to check out their Discography. Then I found out that the Discography is MASSIVE. Then I heard a mid album. Then another one. Then I think there's one that I didn't even like. At this point I just gave up on this artist for a while.

Just now Spotify notified me that ... read more

The Beatles - Now And Then
85

A simple tune done magnificently as a formal farewell from one of the greatest, influential, and Iconic bands to have ever graced this planet.

I will always admire what they have done over fifty years ago, and what each individual band mate would create after the breakup of the band. I will cherish each song they have provided and the two legends that we are lucky to still have with us that are still making music to this day.

This may not be the best song that the Beatles has to offer but ... read more

Kane Parsons - Backrooms (Original Score), Vol. 1
90

I have been waiting a while to review this album/sound-track.

This is the OST to the infamous Backrooms series of YouTube that blew up last year. I was there when each of these songs were uploaded on Kane's second channel and I honestly was amazed every single time. Then I remember a fucking 16-17 kid made of of this and my jaw just hits the floor.

There have been other examples of super talented teenagers that wowed everyone around but there's just something special about this one. Cause ... read more

山岡晃 [Akira Yamaoka] - Silent Hill 2 (Original Soundtracks)

The definition of haunting.

I first heard tracks such as "White Noiz"and "The day of Night" among others on those iconic liminal space videos during the heights of the pandemic before the Backrooms properly blew up later on. And MAN did those unsettling pictures become straight up horrifying with this music playing in the background. My imagination straight up went wild and struggled to sleep most nights.

While I am still super fascinated with everything liminal and ... read more

Vapora - The Stuff of Dreams

Oh boi I was going to listen to Halloween stuff all day but then Spotify notified me that Vapora got a fresh new album released today! Now that I know that they are on this site and are reading reviews I am going to put a bit more concerted effort into this one since a good amount of my previous reviews for Vapora were not my greatest work. They got the message across, but the point stands.

So up to this point I have been pretty hit or miss on Vapora's work. Some I really enjoyed, some I ... read more

vhs ghost - spooky love
95

What phenomenal Halloween album!

It's got all of the vibes and has just the right amount of spooky to be holloweeny. Other than the opener which I am just not feeling, everything is so wistful and haunting and has that Halloween spirit oozing out of their pores. It's a perfect short album vibe along to with the visiting spirits and demons passing along to celebrate their day.

Happy Halloween! 👻🎃

vhs ghost - A familiar place ive seen in a dream

A neighbor of mine already got the Christmas lights out and my Christmas obsessed brother wants the Christmas tree up already. I hate everything it's NOT EVEN FUCKING HALLOWEEN!!!!!!

Anyways I am going to spend this week listening to everything spooky and Halloween vibes cause this is the best holiday of the year. Christmas spirit only lasts the mourning of the day until you get the presents, and then everyone fucks off into their rooms and ignores their brand new presents in favor of Netflix ... read more

tomcbumpz - comfortable silence
90

I kid you not I have had Spotify for less than two months and already got over a thousand songs on my liked list and like 70% of that is shit like this comfy album that is just a chillaxed vibe.

It honestly fits for when I am all by myself in a dark building cleaning the floors, vacuuming carpets, or just taking a break outside a gaze at the stars above. I also enjoy this music right before bed as I snuggle with my dogs after a hard night's work.

So yeah this stuff may not be revolutionary ... read more

Auden - Leave the Noise and Hear your Voice
55

It's a solid indie rock album from a humble band approved by Anthony Fantino according to their Spotify Bio. Nothing was offensive, but nothing other than a good amount of " Was it Worth It" caught my attention. So while I recommend you check out this song particularly as well as the entire EP since you gotta support small bands, don't expect anything that'll blow you away.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - The Silver Cord
55

I ain't bothering with the extended mixes I get the gist with the normal songs. The gist is that it's whatever like anything else I have heard from this band. They are fine but nothing to rave over except their commitment of outputting so much music in a short amount of time. I liked the title track everything else blended into the background.

Talking Heads - Remain in Light
50

😐

I just don't get what about this deserves all that acclaim and hype. I hear plenty of elements for a fantastic and fun album, but they aren't utilized to their potential at the slightest. This is a mellow and groovy album when it should be a jovial album full of soul that's an absolute blast to jam to. The tone of this album sonically is too middling for me to buy into it. I got bored pretty early into my listen and nothing interesting or engaging enough has happened since that point to ... read more

Joy Division - Closer
50

Tedious and boring.

This is a perfect example of the kind of punk that I couldn't care less for. I'll admit that the production is fantastic, but HOLY SHIT that pacing is such a drag! The singing is whatever. I just don't get what all the hoopla for Joy Division and bands like them is about. This kind of stuff just isn't for me.

Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables
90

WTF I LOVE PUNK NOW!

I think I have said before that I like when punk is unhinged, and you can't get much crazier than this record! These guys are stupid rebellious and criminally minded. To top things off they are pretty convincing in their attitude that I wouldn't be surprised if they attempted these unforgiving acts before. They give zero fucks and are proud of it!

THIS is what I have been looking for in all of those underwhelming Punk albums that just weren't crazy or convincing enough. ... read more

Arrigo Barnabé & A Banda Sabor De Veneno - Clara Crocodilo
70

Well that was certainly something.

We got a strange experimental Brazilian album that doesn't hold back in its zaniness. The gragily lead vocals with the female backing vocals adds another layer of uncanniness to this unique album. It's a real engaging listen but it's not for everyone. But if you vibe with it, I think you have a great time!

A pretty fun record from Rita Lee.

It was pretty hit or miss for me generally but the hits sure does make an impact.

This was the last thing I watched before officially closing the book of my fandom of FNAF. I was legit weeping by the end of it and had a sad boi shower before going to bed.

This is the greatest, not the best, not the most iconic THE GREATEST FNAF song I have ever heard. It's such a gorgeous bow tie to finish things on that it just feels right to use this song as a celebration of the LONG LONG awaited Fnaf Movie that's coming out TODAY!!!!

I am honestly so happy that this song is as perfect ... read more

"@AidenBowe45 I am likely not the intended audience since I am a grown ass 26 year old listening to these lyrics. I may not be fully aware of what the kiddos are into these days, but when I was an edgy teenager in middle school, shit like this banged for the girlies."
On Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
"@OldTask This album is definitely geared towards the artsy fartsy folks that appreciate just how deep into the rabbit hole this experience takes them. Definitely takes an experienced or a very open ear to truly "get it." Not everyone does, but the ones that do praise this shit up and down like I do."
On Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
"@Moosky This album is fit for a very particular meditative mindset you have to be in for the Inherent strangeness to pack as hard of a punch as it does. Like many albums I love this is like a sonic drug trip that is more to be experienced than enjoyed as regular music. This album has a legendary status because it goes deep into this surreal experimental soundscape unapologetically and not everyone is going to get it, but those who do are immensely rewarded. I recommend you to maybe expand your horizons and listen to ambient/Psychedelic/ experimental releases similar to this so your pallet is more used to what this amazing album has to offer. Cont."

On David Bowie - Station to Station
"@Jakeisthedoctor Man I really should delete and reevaluate these albums I reviewed in my early days when my taste wasn't nearly as refined yet expansive as it is now. Back in 2023 I was throwing my inexperienced taste into classics head first with no idea what I was talking about. It's part of the reason why I am exploring the 60s and 70s again along with bolstering my limited playlists. To great success too with my 60s playlist going from 90 tracks to over 750 and growing as I am now appreciative of the greatness that I am consuming. I promise when I get to these albums again down the road, I will likely have a more reasonable take. For now, just enjoy how unhinged I was in 2023."
On Vapora - Oceanside Mall
"@frogofprog oh yeah, Vapora. I definitely had mixed feelings with this artist. They had some genuinely great vaporwave along with...well ones that missed the mark. Yeah I was a bit more loose with my reviews back in 2023 just experimenting with how I liked to present my reviews. It results in some reviews I am still proud of to some I just go crazy on. It is also an era where I was still forming my tastes on like twenty+ genres at once so don't take my early reviews that seriously."

On Fabrizio De André - Vol. 1°
"@I_love_chickenw Good for them and the people that praise their writing. That's not the reason I fell in love with music so I don't focus on it. And that is just as fine as those who do the opposite and completely mute the music and gush over the writing. Different strokes, we all appreciate art in our own individual ways."
On Fabrizio De André - Vol. 1°
"@I_love_chickenw Maybe I'll appreciate that part of the experience when I decide to give a shit about the lyrics. Until then, those pink floyd classics offer an amazing sonic experience regardless of whatever they are yapping about."
