Wow! Remixes that actually sound like remixes! Unfortunately, very few (if any) live up to the originals’ vibe. I appreciate the vulnerability but they sound a bit undercooked- not fully there, but it’s something.

With all other songs that fall under the House genre, it falls under semi-bland, but Troye makes it sound unique and actually danceable.
Also say gex.
For the cookie cutter definition of pop, it has at least some lyrical depth and variety of sound and themes.
If you’re a metalhead and you haven’t heard of this album, who are you, where ya been, where ya from??
The Black Album is a standout in their catalogue- mainly because the writing not being simplistic as the instrumentals. Even the ‘filler’ tracks are great (which is a shock for me personally).
Thanks Taylor for introducing me to this work of actual art unlike the slop you shat out for mass consumption. This ACTUALLY DESERVED the most albums sold in its first week and only had ONE album cover unlike your 40+ variants that definitely isn’t harming the Earth.
Favorites: Send My Love, Million Years Ago, All I Ask
Least Favorite: Hello
Though I can’t separate the songs from the show all that much, everything has improved, especially the writing (when it’s noticeable). But sometimes the instrumentals don’t match the mood or is executed not that well.

I’m all for putting songs in cartoons, but not every single episode needs to be a musical. But if you reeaaalllly want to, just put a jingle. I’d rather have an ok few seconds than an agonizing three minutes.
My biggest gripe is that every track suffers from poor writing much like the show itself (except for House of Asmodeus). My World Is Burning Down could’ve been used to mirror Octavia’s character, but it’s just repeating the title over and over. Also the way ... read more
(Happy 40th birthday, Bruno!)
There are at least five songs that I could play to someone else so that they could *get* Bruno Mars. Like how you get Michael Jackson when you hear Billie Jean. It’s a consistency he keeps through all of his work, some better than others.
I feel like it’s one of those instances where the album cover perfectly matches how the album sounds.
Eve though electronic stuff isn’t really my thing, I fairly enjoyed most of these. I wish they had more freedom to put their 100% into the tracks, but I’m good with what they ended up with.

Take a shot every time you hear “what you waiting for motherfucking drop this”.
This is what happens when you let billionaires make music catering to their audiences. You get horrifically bland and boring music that makes the dying pop scene look better than it is.
Don’t get me wrong, Taylor has proved to us that she has both writing and singing talent (folklore/evermore), but where are they on this? She actually tried then, so why doesn’t she now? It’s aggravating.
What she really needs right now is a LONG hiatus. Maybe then she can improve, but right ... read more
“If this album was released tomorrow, it would still be ahead of its time.” (Tony_dogtrainer on YT)
25 years.
It’s abstract, it’s atmospheric, it marks the year humanity would change forever. And on top of everything, it’s one of the greatest rejections of genre in all of music. Sure, you can put a label on every song -art rock, electronic, experimental rock- but *can* you? Each track is a *feeling* -sadness, depersonalization, alienation, with the only glimmer ... read more
Continuing the chaos from The Money Store, NLDW is a swampish wall of sound that never fails to tarnish my ears.
The first Beatles album I’ve ever listened to. It’s all over the place- like it is stitched together. But it ends up being a wonderful piece of art ranging from rock (Back to the USSR) to the experimental Revolution 9 that never gets boring.
After hearing that fuckass moonbeam ice cream on the radio one too many times I had to find out if at least SOMETHING from him is actually good.
He’s got somewhat of a voice but it could use some work to sound less abrasive. The writing especially is a massive letdown- almost to the “coworker music” standard. I hope Boone sees this headache of an album as an opportunity to learn and grow artistically.

Happy 10 years to one of the greatest games of all time. Like MJ to music, there’s never truly never gonna be another like this.
