Phoebe Bridgers is a very similar artist to Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift. But somehow i have a sense that Phoebe is way better than that. This album was a nostalgic trip into a memory i don't have and a life i never lived. The album opens with the intro "DVD Menu" and then jumps straight to Garden Song witch is a chill acoustic song. Then Kyoto is a way faster song with an awesome keyboard melody, songs with a harder instrumentation work so much for me here. But the melody does ... read more
Sup people guess who's back from another vacation. Today im gonna be talking about Misplaced Childhood by Marillion witch has become one of my favourite prog rock conceptual albums of all time. This album is about the lead singers problematic childhood and many short stories in between songs, plus Fish was inspired by himself under the influence of acid. Marillion is very different band compared to the rest of the prog picture. With Fish they had a poetic charm that had an 80's groove that made ... read more
Death Grips is a project i never got into until now, but listening to this album i feel like im experiencing new music senses, the weirdness in here is outstandingly incredible. The album was a trip for me. It starts with Get Got witch is fine i guess. Then "The Fever" get's me up from my seat, it's an astonishing song i thought to be great. Lost Boys is kinda ok, it could of have been way better than the end result, plus it can kinda annoy me. Blackjack is great, i love this sound of ... read more
Probably the most underrated RHCP album and is also my fav by them. I think Dave Navarro did a good job filling the shoes of Frusciante especially with not losing the funk that John had brought to the band. Also, this heavy as hell.
This Wilson album has been so important for me in life, i've been a fan of Wilson since i'm 5 years old, i used to tune up Holy Drinker on my mp3 at night and bang that heavy riff all the time, so i remember when this album came out i was about 7 years old, and we went to the see the premiere of the album at my hometown (Cambridge). I was introduced to a new world of prog, everything was so incredible and dark, too much for a 7 year old, it was an experience I'll never forget. So the album is a ... read more
This Melvins album is one of the most essential grunge albums that one day you should own. It plays as a very influential post grunge project, showing a raw and hard sound as a new sound of grunge that had a hard impact on bands like Nirvana and Soundgarden. I would recommend this band a lot to listeners of Mudhoney, Green River, witch are all bands you should listen to if you like this release or band in general.
This album has really grown on me a lot, i think that it can have certain unconsistent moments, but the most part is great. 4th Dimension is one of Kanye's best tracks. And Reborn is such a beautiful track, don't like the vocals on it tho. Overall this can be a slightly overrated album, but it still works out as one of Kanye's and Cudi's best releases.
This qotsa album remains one of my favourite albums from the 2000's and my fav by them. It has a heavy dose of experimentation compared to the rest of the records, it completely changed their sound from Lullabies To Paralyze witch is their weakest release to me, so this LP is a heavy improvement. Every track on here is composed like if every instrument was playing a different song at the same time, a great example of that is the 5th song on the album "Misfit Love". This album is very ... read more
Portishead is a very important, that is very well known in the music industry. Dummy was released on the 22nd of August in 1994, for that time this album was very innovative and new. It's still regarded as one of the best debut albums of all time. It opens up with Mysterons witch is such a chilling song, it just gives you the nerves man, it kinda describes the whole record, it has like this scary vibe to it, that's very special. Sour Times is also a very good song. Strangers is such a crazy ... read more
Megadeth is known to be Metallica's no.1 enemy, but their much more than that, they have become such a greater band since their debut, until now. Peace Sells is my favourite work by them, but i can admit this one is a little better, let's re-listen this banger, shall we? The album starts with Holy Wars, witch is such an amazing song, and their best to many fans, i believe this is the perfect way to start a thrash metal LP. Hangar 18 continues the consistency of the tracklist with some killer ... read more
Today i'm reviewing a classic album by a classic band, Remain In Light is the album, and the band are the legendary Talking Heads. This full length LP, is full of experimental rock and some alternative kinda sound, that makes this album so interesting. For instance, the opener, Born Under Punches is a great reggae influenced 5 minute track, that has awesome experimentation and very beautiful vocal harmonies. The next song in the album "Crosseyed and Painless" is also a very good song, ... read more
This Porcupine Tree album is crazy!!! it's my all time favourite by them, and to me one of the best albums of all time, but there's absolutely no praise for this masterpiece, and part of it is kinda understandable, because it was initially released with horrible sampled drums, but... the 2016 remaster with Gavin on drums is leagues better than the original, and that version is on Spotify, Cd, Vinyl, etc. This album is the shortest one in the catalog, getting to barely 40 minutes of runtime (not ... read more
Earl Sweatshirt is a very divisive rapper, that experiments with a lot of different sounds and genres. This guy is very creative, it's on another level of creativity, but the quality of the songs, aren't that good, it's a good idea, but it doesn't work that much for me. His voice drags it down for me a little, it's like he's bout' to fall asleep ngl. This release is very short... each song is like 2 minutes, so it is well paced, i would actually like for the songs to be longer, it has the ... read more
In this day of sadness we remember Taylor Hawkins who has sadly passed this Saturday in Colombia hours before their show, he will be forever remembered in our hearts, he is one of my drum hero's and inspirations after all. Today i'm reviewing their latest release "Medicine At Midnight". This album is a quite good release by this band, hopefully it isn't their last. The album opens with Making A Fire which is my fav Foo Fighters song with "My Hero", this opening track gets ... read more
This is my first time listening to this Swedish doom metal band, and it was the most voted by you guys, so... This album was a great experience for me, i absolutely loved the heaviness of it. The album opens up with Solitude which is such a bad ass song, not a big fan of the vocal choices tho, and the guitar can be a little to high pitched at sometimes, but it's still acceptable. Demon's Gate also works as a super consistent and kickass song, those drums are killer, and the guitar solo at the ... read more
Recently i saw a documentary called "prog rock brittania" and a lot of it was a about King Crimson's world of madness and insanity, it opened my eyes to this album in particular which is one of my favourite albums of all time, and also to me King Crimson's best release, it's so ahead of it's time, if it was released today, it would be at the sound standards, or even better, this album influenced in artists like Kurt Cobain or Steven Wilson, it's the first prog metal album to exist. ... read more
This release kinda suprised me, i was expecting nothing from them tbh, but this was still decent, the singles weren't anything special in particular, but the rest is pretty good. The only bad song is One Way Traffic which is very annoying, but the rest is very good. This album is still too soft for the red hot's, it could be a little less commercial and it could be heavier, but Frusciante coming back worked a lot, the vocal harmonies on here with Anthony are great, especially in songs like The ... read more
Nine Inch Nails is a very well known band, that has spotted a good amount of hits, taking in consideration the agressiveness of it's sound. I completely overhyped this album for me, and it turned out to be a disapointment, everyone was telling me it was one of the best of all time, but being critical i just don't see that, the album is way to ambicious for it's good. But there is stand out tracks like: Piggy, Heresy, The Becoming, Hurt and Obviously "Closer". Overall this was a pretty ... read more
Rosalía's new album is very overhyped, Motomami is the new full length LP by hispanic artist la rosalía, I liked the singles especially saoko, but many of the songs on here are very filler and lame, tho there is good songs like Diablo and Delirio De Grandeza, overall this album is quite overrated since many people seem to love this one, but i prefer the flamenco touches from "Los Angeles" and the awesome mix in her masterpiece "El Mal Querer", dissapointing ... read more
This deftones album for me will always be the classic one from their catalog, it has the main hits and other awesome and underaprecciated tracks. This release was the perfect growth in sound from their debut "Adrenaline" which is a bad-ass nu metal album that has an awesome feel to it. Around The Fur created whole new worlds for this band, Mascara is one of their first alternative songs, and Be Quiet And Drive is an alternative metal track that practically gives a genre for this band. ... read more
